[Bug 1944481] Re: Distrust "DST Root CA X3"
@jsing You may well be correct that the server was incorrectly configured, unfortunately it was a Windows server managed by a third party and I don't know precisely how it was set up. Given that the cert in question was issued on 9th September 2021 I suspect it was a misconfiguration of their intermediate cert they were sending. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1944481 Title: Distrust "DST Root CA X3" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ca-certificates/+bug/1944481/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1944481] Re: Distrust "DST Root CA X3"
I ran into an SSL verification issue today, caused by this change. It seems that some older LetsEncrypt clients have still recently been issuing valid certificates signed by the DST Root CA X3 root. These certificates would have otherwise continued to work normally until the root expired (September 30th 2021), but have been distrusted early due to this change. (Indeed the certificate in question in my case was still trusted by the latest Chrome etc.) The best fix is to make sure the ACME client is up-to-date and re-issue the certificates under the new root cert. [Bug 152228] Re: Color for IOWait hard to distinguish from Idle color
I understand what IOWait is. And I get that it isn't busy, but waiting. But while it is busy waiting (har har), those CPU cycles are lost, and that percentage of the processor is utilized, making the machine slower. What I'm saying, is that seeing your IOWait is useful. And that with the current color scheme, it looks like your CPU is idle when it is using IOWait. For example, a use case: Bob, a Windows/.NET developer is using Ubuntu for the first time. He installs MonoDevelop so he can try out .NET on Linux. Bob launches MD from the main menu. He notices that it is taking a while for MD to load, and his HDD sounds busy. He looks at his system monitor to see how busy the machine is. It looks like the cpu is at 2%, but his entire desktop is very slow, even the things that would not touch the HDD. Because Bob's can't see the difference between #002F3D and #00, he has a usability problem. -- Color for IOWait hard to distinguish from Idle color https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/152228 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

When I initially reported It, I thought it was in the list of Gutsy bugs. And, because I never mentioned it: I have an ATI X800XT Platinum Edition with no restricted drivers installed (because they don't have compiz extensions) on my desktop, and an NVidia Geforce Go 7700 with restricted drivers for my laptop. Both machines still give the same error with stacking windows. -- [MASTER] broken initial stacking (was: compiz hides quick loading windows at login) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/147943 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Both machines still give the same error with stacking windows. I didn't want to fill the thread with more posts, so I emailed this to you. That is interesting that it works for you. When I enable the restricted driver and reboot. it says that my card does not support composite extensions. I know it works, because I used to download the drivers and install them from the ATI site, years ago with older Ubuntu releases. Do you think I should file a bug report about it not working? I'm not quite up-to-speed on how all the bug report procedures work in launchpad. So I don't know if that is something they would care about. Just wondering since you have more experience with it. On a side note. I've often thought of just giving my video card to Ubuntu, so they can make sure it works. It is kind of an obscure card. -- [MASTER] broken initial stacking (was: compiz hides quick loading windows at login) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/147943 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 150373] creating a 7zip gives error in Gutsy Beta

[Bug 148381] right-click menu closes and selects items when it can't fit below mouse pointer
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: mozilla-firefox If you place your mouse pointer near the bottom-right corner of your browser window and right-click it, (to where the menu would not have enough space to open naturally) the menu will open for a split second, your mouse will select Switch Page Direction, the pointer will select the item, and the menu will close. This can be done over-and-over to continually switch the page direction. ** Affects: mozilla-firefox (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- right-click menu closes and selects items when it can't fit below mouse pointer https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/148381 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 147943] compiz hides quick loading windows at login
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: compiz-gnome On my desktop, when I login to Gnome, (on a fully up-to-date Gutsy Beta) the bottom Gnome panel does not show up. It will show up once I click on its location. This only happens with Compiz running. Sometimes I can see the panel for a split second before Compiz turns on. I have also had similar problems in Fesity with compiz and beryl: On my laptop, I have to sign in to the Gnome keyring to access my wireless network. But the Gnome keyring shows up just before Compiz/Beryl is loaded, and is then hidden right after it is loaded. It does not show in the Window List, but can be seen and restored with alt+tab. I would love to have this fixed before Gutsy ships. I am open to trying your suggestions. ** Affects: compiz (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- compiz hides quick loading windows at login https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/147943 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 147943] Re: compiz hides quick loading windows at login
Also. This may be helpful. A few times in Feisty, when I loaded up GDM, compiz was already running over GDM (which does not seem to be the desired operation), and I did not have any problems with the keyring- login not showing up. -- compiz hides quick loading windows at login https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/147943 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
