[Bug 1833448] Re: selenium.common.exceptions.InvalidArgumentException: Message: invalid argument: value must be a non-negative integer

2019-06-26 Thread Matt Zimmerman
Confirmed, it looks like python3-selenium is incompatible with the
updated chromium-webdriver package in 18.04. As a workaround, the
selenium package from PyPI (pip3 install selenium) does work.

[Bug 1024491] Re: Centrino Advanced-N 6205 wifi doesn't resume (hard blocked)

2013-07-21 Thread Matt Zimmerman
This is still the original one.

Interestingly though, I now also have a different laptop at work which
has the same wifi chip but is an entirely different model of laptop
(ThinkPad X1 Carbon). It does not seem to exhibit this problem. So I
suspect it has to do with the RF kill switch or the suspend/resume
functionality, rather than the wifi driver itself.

It seems to be triggered whenever the laptop is in a suspend state for a
long period of time (longer than overnight). If it's suspended for a few
days, it will happen reliably when I wake it up. The wake up sequence is
abnormal in this case: the power button LED is no longer pulsing, it
doesn't wake when the lid is opened, and I have to press the power
button to wake it up.

When I do, the power-on sequence is slightly different (e.g. the built-
in lamp which illuminates the keyboard area briefly turns on, which
usually doesn't happen during resume but does happen during cold boot).

[Bug 182884] Re: cdrom entry should go at end of sources.list

2013-05-25 Thread Matt Zimmerman
I imagine this depends on the user's circumstances, but since I am
almost always online, I prefer to download the packages (which is
immediate, as most of them are relatively small) rather than find the
installation media (which is slow, as it's probably buried, forgotten or
overwritten).

Anyway this is an old bug about an extreme edge case where the
installation media gets explicitly re-enabled, so I don't think it's
important

If you upgraded from a previous release/daily/beta/etcetc, it could be that

From Q this is fixed at the kernel level, so no need to do anything there.

Beware that since P we switched to armhf so you won't be able to upgrade

[Bug 1024491] [NEW] Centrino Advanced-N 6205 wifi doesn't resume (hard blocked)

2012-07-13 Thread Matt Zimmerman
Public bug reported:

Every day, when I wake up my ThinkPad x220 from sleep, its wifi doesn't
come back. rfkill list shows:

1: phy0: Wireless LAN
Soft blocked: no
Hard blocked: yes

and dmesg shows:

[32330.371510] iwlwifi :03:00.0: RF_KILL bit toggled to disable
radio.

toggling the hardware kill switch has no effect. Reloading the module
doesn't resolve the problem. Suspending and resuming again doesn't
resolve the problem. The only way I've found to get back online is to
reboot.

Oddly, I haven't been able to reproduce this by suspending and then
resuming immediately. It seems to happen when the machine is left
suspended for a period of time, like overnight.

development release of Ubuntu. ISO CD images are available from
 http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily/current/ .

Is there something newer than current Precise available already? That's what
I'm running. :-)

If the issue remains, please run the following command in the development
release from a Terminal (Applications-Accessories-Terminal). It will
automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report.

 apport-collect -p linux replace-with-bug-number

I already filed this bug report with ubuntu-bug, so it has all of this
information available already.

[Bug 984552] [NEW] iwlwifi intermittently losing connectivity

2012-04-17 Thread Matt Zimmerman
Public bug reported:

I'm seeing symptoms similar to those described in #911059 and #948235,
but I'm not sure as they're not very specific.

I'm seeing intermittent loss of connectivity, where there are no errors,
the connection stays up but packets are no longer getting through.

I've tried going back through the past few kernels, and the problem is
consistent from 3.2.0-19.30 through 3.2.0-23.36 (which seems to be
current). I see no errors in dmesg or other indications of what's going
wrong, but It's very easily reproducible, as it happens all the time. I
lose connectivity about once every 30 seconds, for about 30 seconds,
i.e. it's down 50% of the time.

[Bug 970494] [NEW] Doesn't reconnect to gtalk after suspend/resume

2012-03-31 Thread Matt Zimmerman
Public bug reported:

In 11.10, empathy would reliably reconnect to all of my accounts after
suspend/resume. In 12.04 beta, it seems to get stuck on Google Talk. After
resume, empathy shows a spinner indefinitely, and to reconnect I need to go to
the accounts dialog and toggle my gtalk account off and then on. My Jabber
account seems to reconnect fine though.

[Bug 970498] [NEW] Status stuck on away/idle

2012-03-31 Thread Matt Zimmerman
Public bug reported:

Since upgrading to Precise, empathy no longer sets my status back to
available after a period of idleness. Even though I am back at my
computer, typing and moving the pointer, my status doesn't change back.
(in 11.10, it would automatically set me back to available)

(similar to #865766, but that's marked invalid and/or related to GNOME
shell, which I'm not using)

2012-03-31 Thread Matt Zimmerman
apport information

** Tags added: apport-collected precise

** Description changed:

- In 11.10, empathy would reliably reconnect to all of my accounts after
- suspend/resume. In 12.04 beta, it seems to get stuck on Google Talk.
- After resume, empathy shows a spinner indefinitely, and to reconnect I
- need to go to the accounts dialog and toggle my gtalk account off and
- then on. My Jabber account seems to reconnect fine though.

2012-03-30 Thread Matt Zimmerman
Jani, yes, the machine in question is running 11.04. Can you confirm
which package version is expected to fix the bug? Or is it unknown
whether the bug was fixed?

I see very similar errors when doing anything which causes a lot of I/O
to an external USB hard drive. I see this bug is marked fixed, but
there's no indication of which updated package fixes it, so I can't
confirm.

[Bug 965772] Re: mutt-org crashed with SIGSEGV

2012-03-26 Thread Matt Zimmerman
mx.c:1650 in the (patched) source seems to refer to the comment
preceding the declaration of mx_update_context. It's pretty safe to say
the crash didn't actually occur on that line. ;-)

When this happens, relaunching mutt and opening the same mailbox always
works fine. It's only after the notification of new messages that the
crash occurs.

[Bug 961997] Re: *** VTE ***: Failed to load terminal capabilities from '/etc/termcap'

2012-03-22 Thread Matt Zimmerman
Launching gnome-terminal with --disable-factory avoided this issue
(which is consistent with Ralf's report that rebooting fixed it). It
seems that the running gnome-terminal is in a strange state.

The relevant code is different in the current version (even the error
message has changed), so I think this may be a result of invoking gnome-
terminal with a newer vte version than the running factory is using

[Bug 946899] Re: [drm:i915_hangcheck_elapsed] *ERROR* Hangcheck timer elapsed... GPU hung

2012-03-05 Thread Matt Zimmerman
Hi Brad,

It's still happening, multiple times per day, with 3.2.0-18.28.

On Mon, Mar 05, 2012 at 07:31:01AM -, Brad Figg wrote:
Thank you for taking the time to file a bug report on this issue.

However, given the number of bugs that the Kernel Team receives during
any development cycle it is impossible for us to review them all.
Therefore, we occasionally resort to using automated bots to request
further testing. This is such a request.

We have noted that there is a newer version of the development kernel
than the one you last tested when this issue was found. Please test
again with the newer kernel and indicate in the bug if this issue still
 exists or not.

You can update to the latest development kernel by simply running the
following commands in a terminal window:

 sudo apt-get update
 sudo apt-get upgrade

If the bug still exists, change the bug status from Incomplete to
Confirmed. If the bug no longer exists, change the bug status from
 Incomplete to Fix Released.

If you want this bot to quit automatically requesting kernel tests, add
 a tag named: bot-stop-nagging.

Thank you for your help, we really do appreciate it.

It's under Keyboard→ Shortcuts→ Windows→ Toggle window on all workspaces or
one

I switched back to metacity, and it seems to work there, but I don't think
it works with compiz.

[Bug 845850] [NEW] iwlagn thinks hardware kill switch is stuck on

2011-09-09 Thread Matt Zimmerman
Public bug reported:

Sometimes, when resuming from suspend, my wifi won't come back on. When
I check the logs, I see:

[103165.388663] iwlagn :03:00.0: RF_KILL bit toggled to disable
radio.

but the hardware kill switch is definitely off. I've tried toggling it
off and on, and suspending in between, but nothing seems to affect it.
The only way I've found to clear it is to reboot the machine.

[Bug 730976] Re: Missing support for animated menu icons: Could not handle image type 6

2011-06-06 Thread Matt Zimmerman
It's just happened again. By switching to another client, I'm able to
deduce that the next tweet in the stream would have been
http://twitter.com/#!/maxogden/status/77668660868677632 which contains a
link to an animated GIF. Perhaps, it's trying to display that image
inline and choking on it? But why would this be passed to dbusmenu
anyway?

The dbusmenu error itself seems harmless; update_icon() should just do
nothing. So maybe there is actually a separate Gwibber bug here?

The problem only ever occurred when there were a large number of files
waiting to sync, and my computers are all up-to-date now, so I'm not
experiencing a problem at this moment.

However, this was definitely not a one-time occurrence, and it happened
to me again on 23 May when I tried to sync a large number of music files
purchased in the Ubuntu One Music Store.

My error has gone away after a while. Perhaps one of the people I'm
following is using an animated image for their avatar, and they haven't
posted anything recently. If so, I assume it'll come back before too
long. Is there any way to track down what's triggering this error, i.e.
where the image in question is coming from?

[Bug 772336] Re: Add feature to take screenshots of the buggy window

2011-05-17 Thread Matt Zimmerman
The code in the prototype looks reasonable to me, but I don't know
enough about this layer of the X stack to be able to tell if it covers
all of the necessary cases.

1. You would do this by adding an item to the ProblemReport dictionary

2. The python-wnck dependency shouldn't be too much of a problem, as
it's already in main and quite small.

[Bug 783513] [NEW] Transfers interrupted by periodic disconnects, retried indefinitely

2011-05-16 Thread Matt Zimmerman
Private bug reported:

Binary package hint: ubuntuone-client

I have about 50-60 files synced to the cloud which are not present on my
laptop, mostly music files several megabytes in size. The syncdaemon
periodically tries to download them, and does this 10 files at once, so
they progress a bit slowly. Before any of the transfers complete, the
connection is lost:

2011-05-16 15:02:55,637 - ubuntuone.SyncDaemon.ActionQueue - WARNING -
Connection lost: Connection to the other side was lost in a non-clean
fashion.

The connection is re-established, and then the cycle repeats from the
beginning. Since the transfers are not resumed, and are interrupted
again, it never makes progress and there are still the same number of
files pending over 24 hours later.

Never mind, this was apparently a local bookmark which doesn't ship with
chromium-browser

[Bug 771369] [NEW] Display corruption related to scrolling?

2011-04-26 Thread Matt Zimmerman
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnucash

When I open any of several of my accounts, I get an empty tab. It
doesn't even redraw, and so the contents of the previously focused tab
are displayed.

If I scroll up (the bottom of the ledger is displayed by default), it
eventually starts to display content about halfway up. There is a point
in the ledger which, if I scroll past it, the display corrupts.

Switching to single-line mode avoids the problem, possibly because it
makes the list about half as high (the corruption starts about halfway
down).

[Bug 771369] Re: Display corruption/empty ledger

I've been playing with it a bit, and it seems likely that this is a
graphics driver issue rather than a gnucash one.
