[Bug 378532] [NEW] Fewer display resolutions after upgrading to Jaunty with GeForce4

2009-05-19 Thread Mike Grunde
Public bug reported:

After a clean install of Jaunty, Display Settings no longer detects
resolutions above 800x600 for my monitor (LG L1770GQ). I attempted to
add the undetected resolutions by adding a mode in xrandr as described
in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Config/Resolution.

Running gtf 1280 1024 60 returned

 # 1280x1024 @ 60.00 Hz (GTF) hsync: 63.60 kHz; pclk: 108.88 MHz
  Modeline 1280x1024_60.00 108.88 1280 1360 1496 1712 1024 1025 1028 1060
-HSync +Vsync

So, I attempted xrandr --newmode 1280x1024 108.88 1280 1360 1496
1712 1024 1025 1028 1060 -HSync +Vsync, followed by xrandr --addmode
default 1280x1024. Unfortunately xrandr --output default --mode
1280x1024 returned xrandr: Configure crtc 0 failed

Strangely enough, all resolutions are automagically detected when using
vesa, but of course I'd prefer to use nv.

I'm out of ideas here. Help please.

Well, I did a clean install of Tribe 4, fixed everything. Now apparently
Tribe 5 breaks it again? What's going on here?

[Bug 129581] Re: Gutsy - Kubuntu - USB Flash Drive does not automount

2007-08-09 Thread Mike Grunde
We have a similar problem https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/130502
and http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=516814 there is even a
feisty occurrence here, http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=519267

This is definitely confirmed, even if it only a small number of cases.

They had this problem in Fedora Core 7, and they used
http://www.fedoraforum.org/forum/showpost.php?p=840424postcount=61 as a
solution. I don't know if this helps, as I don't seem to have the file
they refer to.

Hopefully we'll be able to get some helps soon.

[Bug 129581] Re: Gutsy - Kubuntu - USB Flash Drive does not automount

2007-08-04 Thread Mike Grunde
My problem is very similar to yours when you have kded off. The only
differences are that I have kded running, and media:/ shows all of my
drives, except any flash drives I have plugged in. However, like you, I
do get a new device in /dev and no popup.

Perhaps this isn't a bug, just something I broke, but I'm not sure what
I could have done to break it. It seemed to stop working right after I
installed Gutsy.

[Bug 43961] Re: Power down after shutdown does not work...

2007-08-03 Thread Mike Grunde
I had this same problem with Edgy and Feisty. Ever since upgrading to
Gutsy, I have had no problems at all, except for Bug #129581, but that
has nothing to do with power down. Gutsy solved my power down problem!
