[Bug 673021] Re: Graphviz version should be upgraded for Lucid
13.10 still has graphviz at v2.26.3, which was released in 2010. graphviz has an up to date PPA, but it's highest ubuntu version supported is 12.04. trying to manually install it is a PITA, due to dependency issues. I really would like to have at least 2.30 for it's new features. (the latest stable version is 2.30.1, and it has daily builds as well) In my opinion, graphviz should be like firefox chrome - no matter what version of ubuntu you have, you have the latest firefox. [Bug 1015417] [NEW] Totem doesnt release memory when going to next file
Public bug reported: queue up some video files (I first noticed this on some large (800MB) .mkv files: 1080p, H264, 24fps, AAC audio) bring up the system monitor, and watch the memory usage for totem go up and up as the video plays. at the end of the first video, memory usage is around 600-900MB. when the second video starts playing, it will not drop down, but continue going up and up. My computer gets glitchy when it starts getting into the 900MB-1GB range of memory usage, but thats a symptom of just not enough RAM, and the fact that totem just doesnt release its memory usage (or at least not fast enough, if it does at all) My only option on these large video files is to: watch one, close totem, and then watch another, and repeat. [Bug 988169] [NEW] Icon Resize on desktop - Restore Size is unselectable
Public bug reported: In 12.04: If you put an icon on the desktop (In Gnome Fallback mode) you can right click and select resize icon. This works fine. However, once you again click on the now-resized icon, the text that says Restore Icon's Original Size is not selectable. You have to manually resize it by eye, and that may not be perfect. [Bug 986063] [NEW] Windows move on their own when i click on the desktop
Public bug reported: I dont know where the problem is, but i see it often. I am using dual monitors. Using Gnome fallback (classical mode) Compiz is enabled and the special effects like wobbly windows are enabled. I notice the following problem in multiple programs, but most often in the two i use most: Totem Movie Player and Vuze. I will be using a program and then click on the desktop or another program. the window of the first program will move on its own, somewhere else on the same screen. each time i click somewhere that is not inside the first program, the window will move. sometimes it will move to the top of the screen, sometimes to the bottom, usually it tries to travel to the right in addition to either up or down.after it gets to the right edge, it pops to the left side of the same monitor. if i close Vuze (it hides to the tray) and reopen it, everything is fine again for a few hours. or if its another program, i close it and reopen it, it will be fine. Sometimes the problem will go away if i continue to use the program for a bit longer and then click away. Totem movie player has its own unique twist when i encounter the problem with it. Say i just opened a video on my left monitor. i double click on the movie to make it full-screen, and then go back to my work on my right monitor (primary). i click on something. the fullscreen movie immediately pops over to my right screen! i double click it to go back to windows mode, and its on my left screen again. rinse repeat. This only stopped popping on my right screen when i told it to go to fullscreen using [F11] instead of double clicking. (i didnt need to close the program this time.) i have also seen lifera move around in both ways. in a window it will move around the monitor it currently is on, or when maximized, it will pop between monitors. really, the only program i use often that i haven't seen move is whatever program shows open folders (Nautilus? idk). but maybe it has, i'm not sure. i finally was able to get a GUI login screen after i logged in via ALT+F2. i installed lightdm and gdm. i set lightdm to be used (dpkg-reconfigure lightdm) i typed in sudo lightdm it didnt work. no error message - just brought me back to the original boot-text screen ALT-F2 sudo reboot now Still didnt work. ALT-F2 i set gdm to be used i typed sudo gdm Login screen works! rebooted GDM showed up! So, basically, lightdm did not work at all for me (its ok, i prefer gdm anyways) But I need to have it installed for GDM to work (which was not the case for 11.10). Without lightdm, i could not get GDM to work, even when configured to use GDM. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/979545 Title: package lightdm 1.2.0-0ubuntu2 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-removal script returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lightdm/+bug/979545/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
