[Bug 1166833] [NEW] New upstream version of tig fixes incompatibility with latest git (submodules)

2013-04-09 Thread Nicolas Dechesne
Public bug reported:

hi,

as mentioned here (upstream) https://github.com/jonas/tig/issues/54,
since git changed its behavior about how submodule are cloned, tig is no
longer working inside the submodule, which is a serious blocker.

i have rebuilt locally the tig-1.1 tag (from upstream), and confirm that
the problem is indeed fixed.

any chance to get tig-1.1 quickly in the archive , even before 13.04...

thx

[Bug 1014879] [NEW] Enable omap experimental support

2012-06-18 Thread Nicolas Dechesne
Public bug reported:

hi,

since libdrm 2.6.33, experimental support for OMAP DRM has been merged
upstream, so we now need to update the packaging in ubuntu to build this
-omap package. that basically should require to enable --enable-omap-
experimental-api in the makefile and add libdrm-omap1 in the control
file.

thx

2012-01-19 Thread Nicolas Dechesne
can you plug the serial cable, and setup a serial console (see
http://omappedia.org/wiki/Ubuntu_on_OMAP_FAQ#I_want_to_a_console_on_serial_connection.2C_how_do_I_do_it.3F).
you should be able to log in the serial console with your username.

then please send us the output of :

uname -a

dkms status

lsmod

and the content of /var/log/Xorg.0.log

[Bug 709245] Re: ARM SMP scheduler performance bug

2011-08-16 Thread Nicolas Dechesne
the thing about the GPTimer is interesting... i believe the kernel has
CONFIG_NOHZ defined, that might be interesting to try without that (e.g.
with HZ). in fact it would be nice to make a custom kernel that uses
GPTimer instead of local timer, but that might be a little more tricky
(even though we had that for very early OMAP chips since local timer
weren't functional).

1.2 which is actually in the archive, supports up to 2.6.34.

1.3 is available in deiban experimental.

we are seeing problems with 10.10 daily image on OMAP4. it used to work
with .34 kernel, we are still investigating if the problems are related
to systemtap version or with our scripts, but I am opening this bug to
open the discussion.

will report the testing with debian experiemental in the coming hours.

[Bug 645200] Re: System 1.3 adds supports for 2.6.35 kernel

2010-09-22 Thread Nicolas Dechesne
@ogra, @lool: with debian experimental 1.3 systemtap, we are able to
compile our scripts again. so the problem is really related to systemtap
incompatibilities with .35 kernel. it's probably broken on x86 too... we
had to pull the following .deb from debian:

systemtap-common_1.3-1_all.deb
systemtap-runtime_1.3-1_armel.deb
systemtap_1.3-1_armel.deb

they are all generated from the systemtap source package.

can you pull this into 10.10?

[Bug 640406] [NEW] Flashing OMAP4 kernel uses the wrong partition on Blaze

2010-09-16 Thread Nicolas Dechesne
Public bug reported:

When flash_kernel runs on blaze, it flashes in /dev/mmcblk0p1 (as per
flash_kernel.conf). however on blaze mmcblk0 is the device name for the
eMMC, not the SD card.

also in the image, the initial boot.scr has mmcblk0 hard coded, so it
needs to be documented that this must be changed when booted on blaze.

blaze and panda are different machines at kernel level. on blaze
/proc/cpuinfo contains:L

$ cat /proc/cpuinfo
Processor : ARMv7 Processor rev 1 (v7l)
processor : 0

snip

Hardware: OMAP4430 4430SDP board

[Bug 631362] [NEW] Include several configuration files

2010-09-06 Thread Nicolas Dechesne
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: pulseaudio

Hello,

a few weeks ago we had requested to the pulse audio maintainers a new
feature in pulse config that would allow to create a package that would
drop additional configuration files. In its initial implementation,
there is only 1 configuration file (default.pa) which is 'owned' by the
pulseaudio package, as such it is difficult to customize this file.

This new feature has been committed in upstream pulse this weekend, and
has been pulled in the pulseaudio trunk on launchpad, see
http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~crimsun/pulseaudio/trunk/revision/3523.

With this new commit, if we just put a .include /etc/pulse/default.d
in the default.pa then all the *.pa files therein will be parsed.

Is there any chance this commit can be pulled in for 10.10?

That includes adding the .include /etc/pulse/default.d in default.pa
too.

[Bug 631696] [NEW] When using ubuntu-netbook beta image on OMAP, after switching to standard desktop, apps show up maximized

2010-09-06 Thread Nicolas Dechesne
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-session

I am using the 10.10 beta image for armel (OMAP) with ubuntu-netbook. By
default it uses the une-efl session, where apps are maximized by
default.

after logging out and logging into with the standard desktop session,
apps are still maximized, and I think they should not.

[Bug 623478] [NEW] PKG_CONFIG_LIBDIR needs to be set by xdeb

2010-08-24 Thread Nicolas Dechesne
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xdeb

This bug is related to the following email discussion:
http://lists.linaro.org/pipermail/linaro-dev/2010-August/000494.html

When invoking debuild, xdeb should make sure that PKG_CONFIG_LIBDIR is set
properly to /usr/arm-linux-gnueabi/lib/pkgconfig:
/usr/arm-linux-gnueabi/share/pkgconfig, otherwise pkg-config may not be able to
find the proper pkg config data.

[Bug 615773] Re: postinst trigger fails on eMMC

2010-08-24 Thread Nicolas Dechesne
@ogra: I would guess that this is because the flash script has not been
updated yet to support Blaze eMMC. It detects properly that it does not
boot from SD card, so it then believes it is running from NAND. Is that
correct?
