[Bug 1980124] Re: Creating AVIF or HEIC images with transparency does not work

2024-04-22 Thread Nikita Radchenko
The issue is fixed in ImageMagick 6.9.12-68 with commit cc4e5a63, and
possibly with some other HEIC related commits from the 6.9.12 branch.

Please consider adding 6.9.12 to backports, or applying HEIC coder
changes from 6.9.12 to 6.9.11.

[Bug 1921355] Re: cgroups related kernel panics

2021-07-06 Thread Nikita Nedvetskiy
Hello!

Actually, we got a surprising behavior.
Shortly after communication in this thread, the bug just disappeared, for
nearly two months.
Still had no luck reproducing.

We used this opportunity to migrate and reboot part of our servers to activate
kdump on them, and decided to wait.
A couple of days ago one of our hypervisors hung, and we got our crash kernel
dump :)
Kernel version was 5.4.0-73-generic this time.

Now that we have it, could somebody please have a look at it?
The file is quite large, ~2.5 GB (3.2 GB unpacked)

[Bug 1921355] Re: cgroups related kernel panics

2021-04-16 Thread Nikita Nedvetskiy
Thank you all for your ideas!

Sure, we do have some modules not from the kernel source tree. These are
Mellanox (our NICs) and OpenvSwitch, as we've had some problems that
were fixed in the newer driver versions.

We don't have apport enabled, and actually, the hypervisor nodes don't even
have direct access to the internet (only some VMs on them).
I checked on a test VM what kind of info it collects, and it seems that these
are the arch, kernel version, and the stack trace. That kind of info is
attached manually, we have netconsole enabled that collected it.

When the issue started, it was even reproducible on the then-latest
kernel (5.4.0-66), so I'm not sure that simply upgrading can help.

Currently I'm working on integrating kdump into our infrastructure,
trying to reproduce again, and I'll also try to schedule migration +
upgrade for our hypervisor node (that's not fast though).

[Bug 1921355] [NEW] cgroups related kernel panics

2021-03-25 Thread Nikita Nedvetskiy
Public bug reported:

Hi!

Recently (throughout the last 6 months) we've upgraded our hypervisor
compute hosts from ubuntu bionic kernel 4.15.* to ubuntu bionic hwe
kernel 5.4.

This month we noticed that several nodes failed due to bugs in cgroups.
Trace was different almost every time, but it all revolves around cgroups -
either null pointer failures, or panic caught by BUG_ON() macro. Looked like
some cgroup didn't exist anymore but somebody tried to access it, thus causing
kernel panic.
Please find the logs attached.

3 of 4 cases happened after a VM shutdown. We tried to spawn lots of VMs, load
them, shut them down, but didn't manage to reproduce the behavior.
Actually, every case is sort of different - patch kernel versions (5.4.0-42 to
5.4.0-66), uptime vary (from 1 day to ~half a year). There are also lots of
hosts with several months of uptime, no issue with them. Also, on 4.15 we've
never seen this behavior, at all.
That's quite disturbing, as I don't want dozens of VMs crash (due to host
outage) at random times for some vague reason...
I didn't manage to find any related bugs on the bug tracker, thus creating this
one.

I wonder if anybody in the community came across something like that.
Could somebody give an advice how to debug further, or where else to report /
look for a similar the case?

[Bug 1743592] Re: NGINX fails to start/install/upgrade if IPv6 is completely disabled.

2021-01-11 Thread Nikita
I found this thread when trying to simplify automated nginx installation
on Ubuntu 20.04. In my case, IPv6 is disabled with ipv6.disable=1, which
breaks a fresh nginx installation from proceeding with "nginx: [emerg]
socket() [::]:80 failed (97: Address family not supported by protocol)".
Specifically, apt fails when trying to install nginx, which break the
automation workflow.

The workaround that works for me and can be easily automated:

1. Manually create sites-available/default without a "listen [::]:80
default_server;" directive _before_ installing nginx so that the problematic
file is not created and the workflow is not broken.
2. Install nginx with apt. Because sites-available/default does not contain the
problematic directive, the installation finishes successfully.
3. Delete sites-available/default (and corresponding sites-enabled/default).
4. Proceed with the rest of the configuration.

This workaround is definitely clumsy and I would appreciate if the fresh
nginx install did not fail when IPv6 is disabled. Nginx failing to start
with the default config when IPv6 is disabled is perfectly fine, however
this bug breaks the installation process itself, which is not fine.

Regarding ipv6.disable=1 should not be supported, let me politely
disagree with this assessment. RFC6540/IETF BCP177 says that new IP
stack implementations must support IPv6, should support 4/6 dual-stack
and must not require IPv4 stack for IPv6 operation. It does not require
dropping application support for IPv4-only systems at all. IPv4 is not
nearly EOL yet.

There are legitimate use cases when IPv6 must be disabled, for example
in IPv4-only environments that do not use IPv6, such as in many if not
most corporate networks behind the NAT. Disabling unused systems and
protocols is a long-standing best practice, both from infosec and
operational perspectives and is still required by the infosec policies
in many organisations.

Is it feasible to re-open the bug and fix it to the level so that the
nginx installation completes successfully on an IPv4-only system and
does not fail when nginx is simply unable to start with the default
site? The nginx itself unable to start with the default configuration is
perfectly fine and expected.

[Bug 1861610] Re: 'Elan touchpad' not detected on 'Lenovo ThinkBook 15 IIL'

2020-09-15 Thread Nikita Tomilov
Hello all,

Just wanted to let you know that the touchpad works on my 20SL0022 with
the kernel https://people.canonical.com/~khfeng/lp1853277-final/ and
unblacklisting i2c_hid (undoing changes made in
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1861610/comments/66).

My OS is Ubuntu 20.04.
A bit more info on this kernel can be found here

[Bug 1853277] Re: Lenovo ThinkBook 14-IML Touchpad not showing up in /proc/bus/input/devices

2020-09-15 Thread Nikita Tomilov
Hi Kai,

I am reporting that this kernel
https://people.canonical.com/~khfeng/lp1853277-final/ works for me,
thank you!

However, I needed to un-blacklist i2c_hid for touchpad to work,
therefore I had to undo the changes described here
https://people.canonical.com/~khfeng/lp1853277-final/

Thanks!

[Bug 1894414] [NEW] Cant change "Switch to next keyboard layout" shortcut to Alt+Shift. Again.

2020-09-05 Thread Nikita Obukhov
Public bug reported:

1. I want to change "Switch to next layout" shortcut to Alt+Shift
2. Open keyboard shortcuts settings, trying to change - NO effect. But it is
possible to change shortcut to something like "Ctrl+X+Z". So I guess Alt+Shift
is used by some other command that is *not visible on this screen*

As far as I know this bug has long long history and still not fixed. So
How you guys change shortcuts in 2020?

[Bug 1894413] [NEW] Bug during installation - can't change language

2020-09-05 Thread Nikita Obukhov
Public bug reported:

Steps to reproduce:

1. Download ubuntu 20.04 iso from ubuntu.com
2. Create bootable USB
3. Start installation
4. During installation choose keyboard layout - English (US) - Russian (RU)
5. On the last step where it asks username & password Russian layout is
enabled by default and *can not be changed*.
All shortcuts to change layout - does not work
Screen keyboard - does not work
Back button on this screen - does not work

That's ridiculous I'am using Ubuntu for ~10 years and there are lot's of
bugs in each version, and it's getting worse and worse and now you guys
have bugs during installation.

[Bug 1853277] Re: Lenovo ThinkBook 14-IML Touchpad not showing up in /proc/bus/input/devices

2020-07-31 Thread Nikita Tomilov
Hello!

Would like to let you know that this issue is relevant for me as well.
I have ThinkPad 14-IIL, ELAN06034 touchpad is not working.
Upgrading the kernel from default 5.4.?? to both 5.6 (linux-oem-20.04) and
5.7.11 (latest available for Ubuntu right now) did not work.

Would love to share any other logs/information if required.

I also noticed that on kernel 5.7.11 there is a bunch acpi-related
errors in dmesg, though I dont think this is relevant.

And I also tried decompiling the DSDT and the HID seems to be correct,
no or _HID.

As far as I know, for IIL there is a separate bug report 1883010, though
it is said to be the duplicate of this one, so I am commenting here.

I have a similar problem on Ubuntu 19.10. If "use this connection only

don't have access to the Internet. If this option is active, I don't
have remote access to LAN, but the Internet is okay. I checked
everything works fine on Windows.

[Bug 1838848] Re: Bluetooth controller not detected after resume from suspend [Qualcomm Atheros AR9285 Malbec Bluetooth Adapter]

2019-08-06 Thread Nikita B
q: - Can you do dmesg | tail -30 in terminal after resume from suspend?

2Jeremy (wa113y3s):
a: First of all thank you for your reply! Yes, I will do it immediately as soon
as will find the correct way to reproduce it. The thing is that few days ago I
turned on the laptop (HP Pavilion g6) and few times made it suspended but
backed from work today I found that rfkill list now return this bluetooth
adapter.
{code:java}
~$ rfkill list
0: phy0: Wireless LAN
Soft blocked: no
Hard blocked: no
4: hci0: Bluetooth
Soft blocked: no
Hard blocked: no
{code}

So, I will try to find the absolutely way to reproduce it. Probably I need to
connect it with headset. When I'm trying to connect happens this (via
journalctl -f):
{code:java}
Pukhlya kernel: Bluetooth: hci0: command 0x0408 tx timeout
aug 06 20:38:19 Pukhlya bluetoothd[942]: connect error: Connection refused (111)
aug 06 20:38:21 Pukhlya kernel: Bluetooth: hci0: command 0x0408 tx timeout
{code}

q: - Are you talking about a particular Bluetooth peripheral, or is the
Bluetooth icon itself missing?

2Daniel van Vugt (vanvugt):
a: - First of all, thank you for your answer too, Daniel! No, it's not about
missing icon.
It's more about unstable behavior of bluetooth adapter.

So, I put more details here...
On Dabian 9.7-10 I've got exact the same problem with bluetooth:
Works>Suspended>No device at all.
So, I got very positive experience on another machine (PC) with Ubuntu and I
reinstalled the OS to Ubuntu - but things are getting worser - I can connect
the headset not every time, just every other.
This is what happens if via gnome UI bluetooth manager turn b_adapter off and
on:
{code:java}
Bluetooth: hci0: urb 222cb6a5 failed to resubmit (113)
aug 06 20:53:33 Pukhlya systemd[1]: systemd-rfkill.service: Succeeded.
aug 06 20:53:38 Pukhlya bluetoothd[942]: Failed to set mode: Failed (0x03)
{code}

2Kai-Heng Feng (kaihengfeng):
a: - Thank you for your attention to details.
Yes, looks like.

So, thank you all. But what to do except Jeremy's ask to collect log?

[Bug 1798961] Re: Random unrecoverable freezes on Ubuntu 18.10

2019-03-27 Thread Nikita Travkin
I think that I have similar issue:
On Kernel 4.18.0-16-generic I had:
 1) Two unrecoverable freezes (sound looped, unable to SSH)
 2) Random software crashes with segfault in dmesg
 3) Random Chrome tab crashes with "trap invalid opcode" in dmesg

To reproduce segfaults I downloaded latest Kernel sources and make -j10 them
(several times) to get some "realistic" load. Most of compilations failed with
segfault. One ended with coomplete freeze and only one or two succeed.
After booting with mainline 4.15.0-041500-generic from kernel.ubuntu.com I was
able to compile kernel successfuly 3 times in a row.

I have newly built PC with Ryzen 5 2600 and I am sure that my RAM is OK.

Attached small parts of logs with segfaults and trap messages.

[Bug 1780174] [NEW] Compile error when using Boost Spirit from v1.65.1

2018-07-04 Thread Nikita
Public bug reported:

Compiling an app (in Ubuntu 18.04 [1] with GCC 7) that uses Boost Spirit
from v1.65.1 [2] results in the following compiler error:

/usr/include/boost/spirit/home/classic/phoenix/special_ops.hpp:62:48: error:
‘complex’ is not a member of ‘std’
 template struct rank >
^~~
/usr/include/boost/spirit/home/classic/phoenix/special_ops.hpp:62:48: error:

 template struct rank >
 ^
/usr/include/boost/spirit/home/classic/phoenix/special_ops.hpp:62:59: error:

Looks like this is a known Boost bug and have been fixed since[3], but
Ubuntu 18.04 still has the older version with that bug in it.

[Bug 1495479] Re: Strange dimming effect when setting sRGB image as desktop background image and activating desktop icons

2018-06-07 Thread Nikita Yerenkov-Scott
Well, on Arch the issue, (as I said before) doesn't seem to be present.
However can't you just check yourself? It should be quite easy to
reproduce if it's still a bug. If it is, then as it says "Fix released"
for the upstream bug, then surely you can fix it downstream as well. And
if not, then we can close the bug!

otherwise if nobody is around other than me to test it then I will
happily do so in my QEMU VM. Just let me know if nobody gets back to you

[Bug 1758830] [NEW] Incorrect file filter in open file dialog

2018-03-26 Thread Sirgienko Nikita
Public bug reported:

1)Description:Ubuntu 16.04.4 LTS
  Release:16.04
2)Package: cantor
  Version: 4:15.12.1-0ubuntu3

File filter was incorrect, and didn't recognizing `*.cws` files, so there
weren't possibility for users to open any saved files, if they could not
specify the file name directly (availability of this feature depends of the
particular 'Open File' dialog window).
There is a patch, and I think it is very useful to apply this changes to deb
packages.

[Bug 1751462] [NEW] Coud not install grub2 at the end of 16.04.3 setup on the UEFI PC.(ASUS X751B). Also, the system(/) partition was 51200MB, swap was set to 8192MB and user(/home) partition was 94

2018-02-24 Thread Nikita
Public bug reported:

I was installing ubuntu 16.04.3 from the 8GB USB pen drive made by rufus
on win7 with MBR for UEFI and FAT32. It was 2 times, because on the
other times it stopped when downloaded files and didn't do anything.
Previously there was ubuntu 13.04 installed from the DVD, but I haven't
got any of them now. Possybly, I would install GRUB2 manually and I'd
say if it worked for me.

P.S. Sorry for my not-perfect English.

[Bug 1750281] [NEW] python-libuser don't depend from libuser

2018-02-18 Thread Sirgienko Nikita
Public bug reported:

Hello.

1)
Description:Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS
Release:16.04

Description:Ubuntu 17.10

2)
system-config-samba 1.2.63-0ubuntu6
python-libuser 1:0.60~dfsg-1.2

system-config-samba 1.2.73-0ubuntu6
python-libuser 1:0.62~dfsg-0.1ubuntu2

I came from
"https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/system-config-samba/+bug/1387274;.
system-config-samba depends from python-libuser, but python-libuser don't
depend from libuser (but libuser1, I don't know, what it means), so when
system-config-samba call libuser.admin() and package libuser don't installed
(and file /etc/libuser.conf don't exist), system-config-samba throw
"SystemError: could not open configuration file '/etc/libuser.conf'" and don't
started.

I reproduce it on clear Ubuntu 17.10 and unclear 16.04.3. If package
libuser not installed, system-config-samba don't work. If libuser
installed, always ok.

[Bug 1411637] Re: apt-get command line upgrade, to know when to restart

2018-01-24 Thread Nikita Yerenkov-Scott
Well, if you are doing this in the command-line, then generally it would
be seen as strange if something GUI wise popped up. And especially so
would it be useless if you were in the console with no GUI or you were
using apt as a dependency of another program. Then this popup might
become quite a nuisance.

[Bug 1543099] Re: Ability to disable Hot Corner

2018-01-24 Thread Nikita Yerenkov-Scott
** Description changed:

Though some may find it useful, I find the Activities Overview Hot
Corner feature very annoying (when my mouse goes over the Activities
Overview button it opens up even if I do not click it) and I am forced
to install a third-party extension in order to disable it, but I would
much rather it if I could just disable it in the gnome-tweak-tool so I
really think that there should be an option to do it. Because some may
like it, but you should understand that some may not and it is the sort
of feature you should allow users to disable without having to install
  third-party extensions to do so.

I much prefer GNOME Software to the Ubuntu Software Center, however I
believe that there is one thing lacking in GS which is present in USC,
the installation and uninstallation history. That is, the history of all
packaged which have been installed and uninstalled, I believe that this
is a very important feature for any software center like application to
have and GS users would benefit from it.

[Bug 1527633] Re: Have options to suspend after 5 and 10 minutes of inactivity as well - feature request

2018-01-24 Thread Nikita Yerenkov-Scott
** Description changed:

In the unity-control-center one is able to set it so that their computer
suspends after 5 minutes of inactivity as well as 10 minutes, however
the gnome-control-center only allows times equal to or above 15 minutes
which is rather annoying because if you want to set it to something
below 15 minutes like 5 minutes, you have to go into the dconf-editor
and change it yourself. So I think that the gnome-control-center should
also allow you to set it to 10 minutes and 5 minutes.

I am running Ubuntu GNOME 15.10 with GNOME 3.18.

[Bug 1538248] Re: Text appears to be deselected (though is not) when holding down CTRL if the "Show location of cursor" option is on

2018-01-24 Thread Nikita Yerenkov-Scott
** Description changed:

I recently enabled the option in the gnome-tweak-tool called "Show
location of cursor" so now when I press CTRL I get a nice animation
coming from my cursor. However if I have any text selected when I press
CTRL, until I have released the button, the text appears as normal and
appears to be deselected though I believe it is not, if it is, then it
just reselect when I release the button.

And this becomes rather distracting when trying to copy text as it
disappears when you press CTRL... And it's not just for text, it seems
to do the same for anything that is selected, such as a text box or
  something.

[Bug 1610606] Re: Strange font colour change when cursored over in gnome-tweak-tool after GTK theme change

2018-01-24 Thread Nikita Yerenkov-Scott
** Description changed:

I have found that on Ubuntu GNOME 16.04 with GNOME 3.20 if I go into the
gnome-tweak-tool and change the GTK theme, even if I then change it
back, the fonts go really strange when cursored over as shown in the
screencast which I have attached (when I switch it to Adwaita, though it
is less noticeable, there is still a slight darkening in the font).
Though seemingly a restart of the gnome-tweak-tool means that all is
well, so I don't think just the themes are causing the trouble, probably
  something more with gnome-tweak-tool.

[Bug 1614925] Re: Allow one to set the week to start on Sunday in built-in calendar

2018-01-24 Thread Nikita Yerenkov-Scott
** Description changed:

Some religious as well as regional calendars (e.g.: the Japanese
calendar) start the week with Sunday as opposed to Monday. I think that
there should be an option in the gnome-tweak-tool to make it so that the
weeks are displayed as starting on Sunday in the built-in calendar
  accessible from the top-bar.

This can already be done manually, but an option in the GUI would be
  nice.

[Bug 1744465] [NEW] After emptying the search box with "Clear Search History" pressing Esc restores search box contents

2018-01-20 Thread Nikita Yerenkov-Scott
Public bug reported:

In the search box (not the URL bar) I have noticed that if I enter some
text, for instance if I put the word "sausage" in there, and then I
right-click on the box and click "Clear Search History" that it also
clears the text in the search box.

If I click off the search box it stays blank. However if I (without
clicking off it) press the Esc key, then the word "sausage" (or whatever
was there) is restored.

I think if you're going to clear the text box of its contents when
somebody clicks the clear history button, that you should allow pressing
Esc to just restore it. It's strange and inconsistent.

I am running an up-to-date installation of Ubuntu 17.10 and Firefox
version 57.0.4.

[Bug 1652282] Re: Xwayland not using XAUTHORITY, prevents root applications from connecting

2017-11-16 Thread Nikita Yerenkov-Scott
@Phillip, I am afraid that this is the new standard and it's not going
to change. Just use Xorg if you don't like it. But anyway, soon
applications will all upgrade their source code, and then when they meet
the set requirements they will all work as before. Just more securely.

So please stop changing the title. You're just being a nuisance.

[Bug 1528915] Re: Allow changing of the top panel's colour and transparency levels without need to install extension - feature request

2017-11-06 Thread Nikita Yerenkov-Scott
@Dave, Yes, I know, that's the one I'm referring to in my bug
description (in fact it's quite obvious from the title of the bug). I
meant that I was requesting for this functionality to be built-in rather
than having to install the extension. Anyway, this bug is almost 2
-years-old, and I'm on Arch now so you Ubuntu can do what you want with
it. But it should be noted that there has been a little upstream
activity on the bug so maybe this will get implemented in at least a
similar way to the way I requested.

[Bug 1609009] Re: gnome-terminal should allow the disabling of text wrapping (so that there is a scroll bar at the bottom instead)

2017-11-06 Thread Nikita Yerenkov-Scott
@Marius, This could still be done as a downstream patch and they haven't
rejected that yet so there's no reason to close it as just "Opinion", in
fact it would make more sense for them to close this as "Won't fix"
because really "Opinion" refers to something completely different.

I must admit that after looking at the description given for this option
it does look like it's at least very close, but I've always been told
that this is not what the option is for when others use it on my bugs.

@James, No, you misunderstand what I mean, I just mean the black, not
all the icons and everything:

[Bug 1566357] Re: Unable to type passwords with non-English/non-Latin input source

2017-11-04 Thread Nikita Yerenkov-Scott
It should be noted that I'm on Arch though so I may not be able to be so
helpful with this bug report any more. However we do have Anthy here and
the same issue. But I do remember experiencing on Ubuntu what the other
bug you link is describing.

[Bug 1652282] Re: GParted does not work in GNOME on Wayland

2017-11-04 Thread Nikita Yerenkov-Scott
So, basically, Wayland doesn't allow something really insecure where the
whole GUI and everything has root privileges, so it doesn't allow
insecure applications to gain root access, however a program can be
easily adapted (depending on how it's written) in order to be secure and
then you will be able to run it as normal under Wayland. For instance
etherape recently got adapted and you just have to now run it like so
"sudo etherape -Z username" and then it runs in a way Wayland finds
secure and thus it runs as normal as a GUI program but it just runs the
GUI as the normal specified user and only the necessary components as
root.

Anyway, has GParted upstream released a fix for this? Programs just have
to match the new security standards in order to run. That's all, they
will have to change and then your experience will be fine again. But I
don't think you're going to be able to lessen the Wayland standards,
instead take this up with the other developers so that they make their
programs meet those standards.

[Bug 1652282] Re: Xwayland not using XAUTHORITY, prevents root applications from connecting

2017-11-04 Thread Nikita Yerenkov-Scott
I am afraid that this is a Wayland security feature and that it is not
going to be removed just because some users don't like it or don't
understand why it is there. As a workaround you can just carry on using
Xorg, but under Wayland the program has to be adapted in order not to
run the whole program and GUI as root but rather just the specific
things within it that need that.

I'm not sure that there actually is anything the Ubuntu people can
actually do about this though unless they hack at Wayland and make it
less secure. If you want to change Wayland then file an upstream report
about this. Ubuntu is really just packaging and redistributing this
stuff.

** Changed in: gparted (Ubuntu)
   Status: Invalid => Confirmed

** Summary changed:

- Xwayland not using XAUTHORITY, prevents root applications from connecting
+ GParted does not work in GNOME on Wayland

** Tags added: yakkety

** Description changed:

- When running wayland, GDM fails to set up an XAUTHORITY file and instead
- relies on the process UID for authentication. This prevents
- applications run as root, like gparted or synaptic from connecting to
- the server. GDM needs to set up the XAUTHORITY file when running
- Xwayland just like it does when it runs the conventional Xorg.
+ I have found that after switching from Xorg to Wayland on Ubuntu GNOME
+ 16.10 with GNOME 3.22 that GParted does not run when I try to run it as
+ root. That is when I click the icon and enter my password nothing
+ happens. I have found that when running what is run when the icon is
+ clicked that the output in Terminal is (gparted-pkexec):
+
+ Created symlink /run/systemd/system/-.mount → /dev/null.
+ Created symlink /run/systemd/system/boot-efi.mount → /dev/null.
+ Created symlink /run/systemd/system/boot.mount → /dev/null.
+ Created symlink /run/systemd/system/run-user-1000.mount → /dev/null.
+ Created symlink /run/systemd/system/run-user-120.mount → /dev/null.
+ Created symlink /run/systemd/system/tmp.mount → /dev/null.
+ No protocol specified
+
+ (gpartedbin:16832): Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display: :0
+ Removed /run/systemd/system/-.mount.
+ Removed /run/systemd/system/boot-efi.mount.
+ Removed /run/systemd/system/boot.mount.
+ Removed /run/systemd/system/run-user-1000.mount.
+ Removed /run/systemd/system/run-user-120.mount.
+ Removed /run/systemd/system/tmp.mount.
+
+ So I am now unable to launch and use GParted as root which is really the
+ only way I can run it in order to make changes.

[Bug 1650801] Re: Etherape does not detect display when running as root on Wayland

They have added a new -Z option allowing the GUI to run as the specified
normal user rather than as root and it works like this on my Arch system
with Etherape version 0.9.15.

[Bug 1652282] Re: GParted does not work in GNOME on Wayland

2017-07-08 Thread Nikita Yerenkov-Scott
@Mike, I am afraid that I don't know, all I know is it worked as I
described previously until a recent update and now GParted no longer
runs as root under Wayland. So it was either a bug they fixed, a new
feature implemented in some way, or they changed the default
configuration. If I find out the answer, I will let you know.

Yes, that's what it says if you click on the 'Triaged' button at the top

[Bug 1683867] Re: Have to click "Restart" and "Shutdown" button twice to make button work.

2017-07-08 Thread Nikita Yerenkov-Scott
@cubic-wizard, I'm pretty sure that 'Triaged' indicates that a developer
here was able to reproduce it and that it is more than just users having
the issue. That's what I've always taken it to mean anyway.

Please correct me if I am wrong.
