Authentication Type -> "Password with Certificates"
User Certificate -> click on file chooser -> select a .p12 file
Expected result:
new certificate file is accepted
What happens instead:

I think this is a very severe bug. Had I not been able to recover from
it relatively quickly then I might have given up on Ubuntu. I really do
love Ubuntu but this bug was quite a shock.

First of all Who thank you for the extensive information. I was a little
sloppy in describing the condition but can confirm that I have the same
symptons as you (first power on: flashing 'sleep' light, then loud beep,
then a couple of power-ons where nothing happens, then booting seems

Dear all,
I am experiencing a severe problem after a new install of Natty Narwhal
on my Macbook Pro last night:
The install worked fine, but after reboot nothing came up except fo a black
screen.
After forcing the machine off and on multiple times I was able to bring up the

me too!
I am using a WPA encrypted access point, that doesn't seem to cause problems.

Hello,
I am seeing a similar error again on lucid 14.2-0ubuntu0.1
The backup backup "Backing up" dialog comes up and says
"Preparing..." and then "Backup Failed".
