Doug, I don't know anything about this really, but I would be wary -- maybe check the internet if anyone has tried this or ask Apple, with the information provided here? Maybe they can tell you 'sure, the efi for that model is the same as...' Maybe they can't. But I can imagine that by flashing the wrong firmware you can really brick your machine, so it's high risk.
