[Bug 1768588] Re: Blender is missing parts of the "System" tab panel and some configurations.
Hi ! I have made some further investigation on this issue. This problem occurs mostly in I686 fresh installs. Rarely in X86_64. Some overlays are also missing (like the ones located at the "Splash Screen") unless you force a proprietary driver install, or use "./blender-softwaregl" at the folder obtained directly from BF. It seems there is an issue related to OpenGL. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1768588 Title: Blender is missing parts of the "System" tab panel and some configurations. [Bug 1768588] [NEW] Blender is missing parts of the "System" tab panel and some configurations.
Public bug reported: (*)Ubuntu 18.04 (any flavor). Blender 3D Modeler is missing 2/3 the "System tab" panel options regarding to OpenGL, localization, font overrides, translations, lamp directions and options to use custom colors for bone weights. Since 18.04 beta 1 and 2, I have been comparing the blender 2.79b present at the 18.04LTS obtained via apt-get to the one downloaded directly from Blender Foundation. If you install Blender from apt-get first, and then download and extract Blender from Blender Foundation in any folder, running the software you can go to the "User preference" options using CTRL U, and navigate to the "System tab" options. Now, compare the system tab of both. 2/3 of the options are missing in the default apt-get (*)ubuntu install. Many thanks for fixing this ! ** Affects: blender (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: missing parts -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1768588 Title: Blender is missing parts of the "System" tab panel and some configurations. Re: [Bug 224740] Re: update-grub fails during upgrade of the kernel
Hello Michael... This is the first time I have been contacted (I am quite happy that you contacted me). Here's what I did. I got tired of messing around with the problem, so I ordered a disk w/ 8.10. I backed up my files, and re-installed. The only thing. I have this Belkin F5D7051 wireless USB Network adapter, and Ubuntu won't boot when that's plugged in, interestingly enough. It may or may not work after after startup is complete. I've messed around with this along time too... seen a lot of headaches on the web... and I may just part with the stick altogether and get a different one. I do want to thank you for contacting me. [Bug 315029] [NEW] Severely long boot times (1 hr)
Public bug reported: Ever since upgrading to Intrepid (from Hardy) my laptop takes 75 minutes to boot, unless I press and hold the return key at each screen pause. After continuing from the first pause the following warning is displayed: Clocksource tsc unstable (delta = 4398046171107 ns) I believe that to be significant, being that is over 73 minutes! That also happens to be how long it take to boot unattended. In particular, it pauses for about 6 minutes each *after* the following lines are echoed. PATA max UDMA/133 cmd 0x170 ctl 0x376 bmdma 0x30c8 irq 15 (which is immediately before the following line) ata1.00: ATAPI: Optiarc DVD RW AD-7530B, NH02, max MWDMA2 (which is before: ata1: nv_mode_filter: 0x39f0x39f-0x39f, BIOS=0x0 (0xc700) ACPI=0x39f (120:600:0x12)) forcedeth :00:0a.0: PCI INT A - Link[LMAC] - GSI 20 (level, low) - IRQ 20 (which is before: forcedeth :00:0a.0: PCI INT A - Link[LMAC] - GSI 20 (level, low) - IRQ 20) It pauses for about 9 minutes after the following line is echoed: Uniform CD-ROM driver Revision: 3.20 (which is before: sr 0:0:0:0: Attached scsi CD-ROM sr0) It pauses for about 9 minutes after the following adjacent lines are echoed: ata3.00: configured for UDMA/133 ata4: SATA link down (SStatus 0 SControl 300) ata5: SATA link down (SStatus 0 SControl 300) (which is before: ata6: SATA link down (SStatus 0 SControl 300)) After that is makes several pauses with prompts that are not written to dmesg. I was unable to write them them all before the boot resumed. This problem is occurs whether clocksource is either acpi_ps, hpet, or tsc. System specifications follow inline below. I've provided menu.lst, snippets of syslog, as well as the outputs of lspci -vvnn and dmesg as attachments (all sanitized).
