I decided to give Ubuntu 9.04 a try after a terrible experience from 8.10 -all
because of my wireless lan adapter card- atheros AR5007EG.
Running on live cd mode, ubuntu correctly identified the card and it worked

I confirm this patch get this issue solved.
I tried it through Update Manager (proposed updates) and it worked out.

I also tried to search for .patch files only and files named
'scrollbars' after have done the step you suggested. No search result.

loading blank icons...anyway, if this is what's happening, then I think
those 'blank icons' should come with gnome splash screen...
By the way, what happens if starting up the system with GSS in 8.10?
Has anyone tried it

Exactly as it is detailed before, gnomesplash goes away when Nautilus starts
being loaded so you have to guess when the system is ready. I just commented
this here because Ubuntu hardy comes with GNOME 2.22 but it seems that this

Hi Leann,
I had downloaded the BETA version of hardy. In fact, the installation progress
won't reach the end.
Now I've done the same to the official release of hardy and this 'bug' is not
there anymore. Installation was correctly done.
Also, I've downloaded the ACD just to answer your question.
