Fresh install of Artful, using gnome-session to access vanilla GNOME
session on Wayland (also tried on xorg). Attempting to calibrate
monitors through Gnome Control Center->Devices->Color. All attempts
ended at the point where I was asked to put the device onto the monitor,
I am also running the owncloud sync client, version 2.2.4. unity-panel-
service grows to over 4GB RAM in 4 hours.

I tried backtracing X11 using those instructions, but couldn't get X11
on either the Precise or the Oneiric side to give me a backtrace

I have the same symptoms as Stapel reported. Ubuntu 11.10 64-bit
updated with latest updates. After update and reboot, sound wouldn't
work, sound icon displaying muted icon. Sound settings showed no
hardware present. Unplugged the Logitech webcam and sound works again.

the next version 'Gutsy Gibbon' fixes the scanner issue. It's due out in 4
months but we can probably upgrade in around 2 months (for the pre-release
version). It's available right now but it could be a bit rope

scanner motor operates during initialisation (usually) but then I
preview or scan, the system pauses then returns a complete black scanned
