try the upgrade again.

If none of this applies, then please report this bug using the command

[Bug 1245686] Re: after upgrading to 13.10 old language indicator shortcuts change applet, not language

2014-03-14 Thread Roi Illouz
OK
install ubuntu 12.10 add gnome 3 (not sure if relevant) add the keyboard
indicator applet add a second language (in my case hebrew) then config
Alt+shift shortcut to change language from the advanced section.
Now upgrade to ubuntu 13.10 update your gnome 3 - now theres a new keyboard
layout with default of Alt+space to change keyboard.

cool

But the old configured Alt+shift still change the indicator from
language A to B but it doasn't show the change dialog and it doasn't
change the keyboard and that confuse the regular new Alt+space changing
when the indicator show english and the keyboard is on hebrew

Happens every time.
I found a way to avoid it, and that's by either pressing with the mouse on the

Now When I preform the copy of the files mentioned above and in the target
directory already reside one of the files let's say file x. Nautilus then
prompt me to skip or replace the file. If I choose skip the text in the file
operation would still say 3 files being copy
which is an error since only file y,z are being copied I skipped file x but the
file operation dialog still think theres 3 files instead of 2

[Bug 912746] [NEW] Extra pane menu check option error

2012-01-06 Thread Roi Illouz
Public bug reported:

In Nautilus theres a menu option Extra Pane which opens an Extra pane
when choosing Extra pane theres a check mark next to the menu Item
indicating this option in chosen. Now if one of the panes is on a
removable drive and I remove the drive ejecting it using the eject
unmount symbol then the pane related to that drive disappear. But the
menu Item check marker remains in true state since the termination
accrued from a different location not by choosing the option from the
menu bar this is a bug.

[Bug 784804] [NEW] logical problem with unity nautilus integration

2011-05-18 Thread Roi Illouz

When using unity you can open only one home folder nautilus. Want
another window ? go to file-New window. Now let's assume I'm copying a

The file operations dialog is still running. Now Unity thinks home
folder is activated because of the file operation dialog. Want a new
window browser ? out of lack file operations don't have a file menu. if
no shortcut on the desktop need to run nautilus from the terminal not so
sleek.

[Bug 782440] [NEW] qjackctl closes pulseaudio on init bad feature

2011-05-13 Thread Roi Illouz
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-media

Well
When opening qjackctl it halts pulseaudio it's a feature I know but a bad one.
I use 2 sound cards a professional one where I plug my guitar and play using
jack and dsp plugins, and an internal card linked to pulse audio. I like to
play a long with youtube track or songsterr and learn new songs. The flash
plugin doesn't work with jack and the 2 card 2 interface solutions works like a
charm. Blocking pulseaudio on qjackctl start before I even started jack and
before I chose an interface is a bad idea I may have 2 cards and I may want to
use them side by side.

In my country, the only way to NOT use some kind of dialer (PPTP or L2TP) is to
buy a router.
You can't expect people to buy a router just so they can use Linux.

[Bug 141066] displayconfig-gtk TV

2007-09-19 Thread Dave Roi
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: displayconfig-gtk

Hi,

displayconfig-gtk does not handle TVs at all.
There should be an option to set a certain display as a TV set.
From my experience this should be nothing more than adding:

Option TVOutFormat SVIDEO #or COMPONENT
Option TVStandard PAL-G #or NTSC etc PAL-B/G/D/H/I

to the xorg.conf

In displayconfig-gtk there should be a box to select SVIDEO/COMPONENT
and PAL/NTSC and such.

I had to manually edit my xorg.conf to make it work as a TV.

This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'RenderBadPicture (invalid Picture parameter)'.

  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.

option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

[Bug 139800] Re: Screen and Graphics sets resolution wrong

Hi,

I am having similar issues with 2 computers.
The resolution management in Screen and Graphics preferences needs a lot of
work.
It just doesn't work well.
detects wrong resolutions, doesn't detect manual changes to xorg.conf, isn't
synchronized with xorg.conf, crashes..
On several occasions clicking OK or test would do nothing.
This needs to be addressed.

[Bug 95332] Re: NetworkManager recognizes wireless ipw3945 but does not manage it

2007-04-13 Thread Roi
Bryan,

Running gnome-keyring-manager and displaying the list of available keyrings
shows two: default (bolded font) and session.
Both of them appear to contain nothing and I have no idea how to manually add
anything to them (if that's possible at all).
I am not sure if it has any relation to the NetworkManager problem we're
discussing here, but if you can guide me on how to create the necessary values
for the NetworkManager daemon to recognize the wireless network, we can maybe
determine if the keyring is the source of this problem.

[Bug 95332] Re: NetworkManager recognizes wireless ipw3945 but does not manage it

2007-04-02 Thread Roi
If you are referring to the ipw3945d Regulatory daemon, then I have it
and it's running - without it I can't have wireless.

Like I said, I am running a compiled version of the kernel more suited
to my system, and not the one that comes with Ubuntu, but I have
wireless access and it works fine.

Also, when I did the test of switching back to the kernel that comes
with Ubuntu, the wireless worked, but NetworkManager still showed the
same error.

Maybe the problem is in the applet and not the NetworkManager daemon?
the error message said it can't get the list of stored networks (I don't
remember ever having been asked to store anything). where does that list
come from? how can I maybe create it manually so it can be passed on to
the daemon or the applet?

[Bug 95332] NetworkManager recognizes wireless ipw3945 but does not manage it

2007-03-23 Thread Roi

I thought that maybe updating the kernel and ieee80211/ipw3945 modules will
solve the problem, but it didn't.
I'm currently using Kernel 2.6.20.4 (downloaded from kernel.org), ipw3945 1.2.0
and ieee80211 1.2.16. All of them load perfectly.

Also, the gnome applet doesn't show any option to scan for wireless networks
(ofcourse...).
I should point out, that after googling for some time, and not succeeding in
resolving this issue, I thought to try and add some configuration directly in
gconf, or gnome-keyring, so that NetworkManager's request from dbus will have
an answer (nm_dbus_get_networks_cb (): error received:
org.freedesktop.NetworkManagerInfo.NoNetworks - There are no wireless networks
stored..), but unfortunately, I have no idea what to add and how to do it.

Can someone please help me?!?!
