I use 2 sound cards a professional one where I plug my guitar and play using jack and dsp plugins, and an internal card linked to pulse audio. I like to play a long with youtube track or songsterr and learn new songs. The flash plugin doesn't work with jack and the 2 card 2 interface solutions works like a charm. Blocking pulseaudio on qjackctl start before I even started jack and before I chose an interface is a bad idea I may have 2 cards and I may want to use them side by side. ** Affects: gnome-media (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/782440 Title: qjackctl closes pulseaudio on init bad feature -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 139800] Re: Screen and Graphics sets resolution wrong
Hi, I am having similar issues with 2 computers. The resolution management in Screen and Graphics preferences needs a lot of work. It just doesn't work well. detects wrong resolutions, doesn't detect manual changes to xorg.conf, isn't synchronized with xorg.conf, crashes.. On several occasions clicking OK or test would do nothing. This needs to be addressed. Thanks. It just started working by itself some time ago... I don't remember I did anything special maybe the system (ubuntu) updated some other packages and it solved it, I don't know. [Bug 95332] Re: NetworkManager recognizes wireless ipw3945 but does not manage it
Bryan, Running gnome-keyring-manager and displaying the list of available keyrings shows two: default (bolded font) and session. Both of them appear to contain nothing and I have no idea how to manually add anything to them (if that's possible at all). I am not sure if it has any relation to the NetworkManager problem we're discussing here, but if you can guide me on how to create the necessary values for the NetworkManager daemon to recognize the wireless network, we can maybe determine if the keyring is the source of this problem. - Roi -- NetworkManager recognizes wireless ipw3945 but does not manage it https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/95332 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 95332] Re: NetworkManager recognizes wireless ipw3945 but does not manage it
If you are referring to the ipw3945d Regulatory daemon, then I have it and it's running - without it I can't have wireless. Like I said, I am running a compiled version of the kernel more suited to my system, and not the one that comes with Ubuntu, but I have wireless access and it works fine. Also, when I did the test of switching back to the kernel that comes with Ubuntu, the wireless worked, but NetworkManager still showed the same error. Maybe the problem is in the applet and not the NetworkManager daemon? the error message said it can't get the list of stored networks (I don't remember ever having been asked to store anything). where does that list come from? how can I maybe create it manually so it can be passed on to the daemon or the applet? -- NetworkManager recognizes wireless ipw3945 but does not manage it https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/95332 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 95332] NetworkManager recognizes wireless ipw3945 but does not manage it
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: network-manager I recently installed Fiesty Herd-5 on my Lenovo 3000 N100. My wired network is handled perfectly by NetworkManager (the device is mapped to eth0, detected and managed when connected and disconnected), but the wireless connection isn't (device eth1). The laptop has an Intel 3945 wireless card. The distro comes with a module for it and it loads without a problem. NetworkManager seems to recognize that driver, but does not manage it (as can be seen using the output of NetworkManager --no-daemon): -- NetworkManager: information starting... I'm currently using Kernel 2.6.20.4 (downloaded from kernel.org), ipw3945 1.2.0 and ieee80211 1.2.16. All of them load perfectly. Also, the gnome applet doesn't show any option to scan for wireless networks (ofcourse...). I should point out, that after googling for some time, and not succeeding in resolving this issue, I thought to try and add some configuration directly in gconf, or gnome-keyring, so that NetworkManager's request from dbus will have an answer (nm_dbus_get_networks_cb (): error received: org.freedesktop.NetworkManagerInfo.NoNetworks - There are no wireless networks stored..), but unfortunately, I have no idea what to add and how to do it.
