[Bug 1877000] Re: libjfxwebkit not present in the package for Focal amd64
Debian isn't affected because they build any arch-independent packages separately from arch-dependent packages. Ubuntu, on the other hand, builds arch-independent packages along with the amd64 build. This combination is messing up the build for openjfx because of how the rules are defined. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1877000 Title: libjfxwebkit not present in the package for Focal amd64 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openjfx/+bug/1877000/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1877000] Re: libjfxwebkit not present in the package for Focal amd64
This is a debdiff to fix this issue by not overwriting the build.gradle file when building arch-independent packages alongside the arch- dependent packages. [Bug 1877000] Re: libjfxwebkit not present in the package for Focal amd64
The issue has to deal with how the package is build. Both arch-dependent and arch-independent packages are built for amd64 now. I managed to establish that it is connected to xdg-utils, namely to /usr/bin/xdg- settings script. michal@furia:~$ lsb_release -a No LSB modules are available. Distributor ID: Ubuntu Description: Ubuntu 15.10 Release: 15.10 Codename: wily michal@furia:~$ xdg-settings get default-web-browser firefox.desktop michal@furia:~$ xdg-settings set default-web-browser google-chrome.desktop michal@furia:~$ echo $? 2 michal@furia:~$ xdg-settings get default-web-browser firefox.desktop There is a function in /usr/bin/xdg-settings called desktop_file_to_binary() and it has a bug. It is slightly different than the one in the vanilla xdg-utils 1.1.0 rc3. It is implemented in scripts /xdg-utils-common.in. See line 65 in xdg-utils-1.1.0~rc3+git20150907/scripts/xdg-utils- common.in : command="`grep -E "^Exec(\[[^]=]*])?=" "$file" | cut -d= -f 2- | sed -e 's/ .*$//'`" When executed against google-chrome.desktop or firefox.desktop it results with: google-chrome-stable google-chrome-stable google-chrome-stable or firefox firefox firefox respectively. When passed to `which` and then to `readlink -f` it results with no path to the actual binary. In the vanilla xdg-utils package (version 1.1.0 rc3) the `sed` part is replaced with `first_word`. An alternative would be adding `| head -n 1`. Then we would have only one `google-chrome-stable` or `firefox` which in turn would result with the actual path to binary resolved correctly and that would make xdg-settings work fine. Also, it is possible to set Google Chrome as the default browser via its preferences and the aforementioned first user-facing symptom is gone. + + [Regression Potential] + + Limited. The commands after the modified lines assume that there is only + one line, so passing the output of the modified lines through `head -n1` + should ensure that. In the case of there being 0 or 1 lines before the + `head -n1` command, nothing will be changed. + + In the worst case, there may exist a .desktop file where the first Exec + line isn't the main program (mentioned in comment 2 below). In that + case, however, this change will result in the incorrect program being + chosen; this may or may not be better than the command not working at + all. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1511154 Title: xdg-settings set fails with status 2 because of a small glitch To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xdg-utils/+bug/1511154/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1509725] [NEW] Some ICMPv6 packets rejected due to rule ordering
Public bug reported: In the default before6.rules file, the following lines: # drop INVALID packets (logs these in loglevel medium and higher) -A ufw6-before-input -m conntrack --ctstate INVALID -j ufw6-logging-deny -A ufw6-before-input -m conntrack --ctstate INVALID -j DROP are present before the ICMPv6 rules. The problem is that this also captures echo replies (but, somehow, allows echo requests) and some IPv6 routing announcements. [Bug 1476475] [NEW] gnuradio doesn't build on armhf due to unneeded dependencies
Public bug reported: [Impact] The gnuradio package currently has a build dependency on libqwtplot3d- qt4-dev (which is not available for armhf). However, the package doesn't use anything from libqwtplot3d-qt4-dev. Taking that dependency out at least allows gnuradio to build (and most likely succeed). [Test Case] Attempt to install gnuradio, or anything that depends on a gnuradio library (such as gqrx-sdr) on an armhf system, and notice it's not available. [Regression Potential] In the event that qwtplot3d is indeed indirectly referenced somewhere, then a feature will be missing. However, running apt-cache rdepends libqwtplot3d-qt4-0 yields only five packages (three of which are directly related with qwtplot3d or qwt3d), none of which are the gnuradio libraries. ** Affects: gnuradio (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1476475 Title: gnuradio doesn't build on armhf due to unneeded dependencies To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnuradio/+bug/1476475/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1366207] [NEW] qgl.h typedefs GLdouble to float instead of double
Public bug reported: In qgl.h, for the OpenGL ES 2.0, GLdouble is typedef'ed to float. This causes a compile error in the armhf architcture in downstream programs including OpenSceneGraph and other programs. Recently, Qt committed a patch (https://codereview.qt-project.org/#/c/93984/1//ALL) for Qt 5 to change the typedef from float to double, since (according to the commit message), the typedef was from S60 and wasn't being used anywhere. I've backported the patch to Qt 4, but I wasn't able to do a full build for armhf; the build was taking 12+ hours for me. However, it does seem to have compiled the OpenGL source code files and a few examples related to this successfully. Therefore, I wasn't fully able to verify that this compiles successfully. This is intended to be a bugfix-only update; however, since the ABI is effectively being changed, this change might warrant some discussion here. The expectation for downstream packages on armhf is that more packages can be compiled, since some packages have this typedef error, but some packages may also fail to compile if they rely on the fact that this was a float. I'm expecting that the number for the latter case is low to 0, since this is a widening conversion. I've attached the raw patch file. This will need to be added to debian/patches. ** Affects: qt4-x11 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Won't Fix ** Patch added: qopengl-typedef-fix.patch https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1366207/+attachment/4196694/+files/qopengl-typedef-fix.patch -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1366207 Title: qgl.h typedefs GLdouble to float instead of double To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qt4-x11/+bug/1366207/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1363962] [NEW] [FFe] openwalnut fails to build on Utopic armhf
Public bug reported: This is a bugfix-only update. The openwalnut package currently fails to build on Utopic armhf. This is partly because of a typedef conflict error between OpenSceneGraph and Qt4 and partly because of the use of a constant that is only present in OpenGL and OpenGL ES 1.x (not in OpenGL ES 2.0). For the first bug, an #include is added before all other includes to have the typedef and a #define assigned for it. For the second bug, that section of the code (which is the code that controls line smoothing) is excluded for armhf. While this means that openwalnut compiles, line-smoothing will not work. (I believe the proper way to do this in OpenGL ES 2.0 is to use multisampling.) In addition, I added a patch that ensures that OpenGL ES is used if requested, and sets the libraries to link to to include OpenGL ES 2.0. Considering that this package did not previously compile on armhf, the risk of causing this package to break builds for dependent packages (if any) are low. However, there is a functionality loss for armhf, since line-smoothing will not work. ** Affects: openwalnut (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1363962 Title: [FFe] openwalnut fails to build on Utopic armhf To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openwalnut/+bug/1363962/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1361895] Re: Openjdk-8-jdk is a debug build
The general Debian/Ubuntu packaging process involves (ideally) a release build with debug symbols or a debug build, and then the debug symbols are split into a separate file that would be in -dbg. From what I can tell, this has happened already; the openjdk-8-dbg package install size is 136 MB. In the case of this package, it seems the built files are closer to a release build with debug symbols than a debug build. See https://blogs.oracle.com/kto/entry/mustang_jdk_6_0_fastdebug for more information on what fastdebug is. That being said, it doesn't look like OpenJDK 7 was built with the fastdebug option, it may be why this is being exhibited now rather than before. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1361895 Title: Openjdk-8-jdk is a debug build To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openjdk-8/+bug/1361895/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1339264] Re: Missing FreeType support in 14.04 LTS package
** Description changed: [Impact] The current version of openscenegraph in Ubuntu Trusty cannot load FreeType fonts. This is because the build used its own CMakeModule to try to find the Freetype libraries, and when it couldn't find the libraries, this module of the program was excluded from the build. Therefore, any programs that attempt to use FreeType fonts for their text will result in the text using something like Courier New (or some other code-style, serif font). [Test Case] Use any program that uses openscenegraph and attempts to load a FreeType font. Flightgear is one example; in the case of this program, an error message is displayed saying that the Liberation fonts couldn't be loaded, and the text appears to be Courier New-like. [Regression Potential] Minimum. The actual changes are a change in how the FreeType libraries are found and some #include changes. The worst case is a build failure. Programs are expected to continue working and shouldn't need a - recompilation. (Testing yet to occur.) + recompilation. [Original Description] The current package (3.2.0~rc1-4) available for Ubuntu 14.04 is missing support for FreeType due to a build bug that is listed as fixed in 3.2.0~rc1-5. [Bug 1284190] Re: openscenegraph 3.2.0~rc1 doesn't build on ARM (armhf), but builds fine in Debian
** Description changed: + [Impact] + + openscenegraph FTBFS for armhf partly because it tries to build for + OpenGL, partly because there is a typedef conflict for GLdouble between + this package and Qt, and partly because freeglut does not support OpenGL + ES yet. As a result, any package dependent on this package does not + build either. + + The changes made: + 1. Tell openscenegraph to not use OpenGL and to instead use OpenGL ES. + 2. Backport part of a commit that tells the build system not to build an example application when compiling for OpenGL ES, as that application doesn't support OpenGL ES. + 3. Fix a typedef conflict for GLdouble and Qt by changing it from a typedef to a #define. On the Qt side, Qt checks to see if GLdouble is #defined and if it's not #defined, it gives its own typedef. + 4. [Bug 1284190] Re: openscenegraph 3.2.0~rc1 doesn't build on ARM (armhf), but builds fine in Debian
Something's odd there. Openscenegraph shouldn't be building with Qt5 in Ubuntu (although it is supported, IIRC). I take it this is not in a chroot? I've attached my sbuild log for comparison. Note that qt5 is not mentioned at all (except as a suggested package). Also, I'll correct the version number. ** Attachment added: openscenegraph_3.2.0~rc1-5ubuntu1_armhf-20140806-0647.build https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openscenegraph/+bug/1284190/+attachment/4174581/+files/openscenegraph_3.2.0%7Erc1-5ubuntu1_armhf-20140806-0647.build -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1284190 Title: openscenegraph 3.2.0~rc1 doesn't build on ARM (armhf), but builds fine in Debian To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openscenegraph/+bug/1284190/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1354691] [NEW] Make KDE library packages multiarch
Public bug reported: It would be nice to have the KDE library packages adjusted so that they are multiarch. This might help in case someone needs to install a KDE application that's not in their native architecture (for some reason). After a short look, it looks like setting the CMake variable LIB_SUFFIX to /$(DEB_HOST_MULTIARCH) will do the trick for the most part. I haven't done a build on this yet. ** Affects: kde4libs (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1354691 Title: Make KDE library packages multiarch To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kde4libs/+bug/1354691/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Security updates would apply, but I don't think this would be considered a security update, since this is an entirely new version and this source package (openjdk-8) isn't present in 14.04.
