The fn+f4 combination of keys does not enable a connected external
monitor. This used to work in Ubuntu 9.10.
I am using a clean install of Ubuntu 10.04, this has been installed for
a few days and has been updated a couple of times.
When I press fn+f4 n

I have this same problem with Hardy. But it goes away after 1/2 a day or
so.
My take on this is that apt is doing its job correctly, but the alert /
message that is being displayed to the user could be reviewed.
