[Bug 2051383] Re: gnome-shell high CPU utilization when moving a high frequency mouse
To answer your first question: I'm testing on a freshly booted system with no applications running. Regarding extensions: After I disable the Desktop Icons NG extension (appears to be one of the built-ins), peak CPU usage for gnome-shell goes from ~55% to ~35% when moving over an empty desktop. When moving over an application such as gnome-terminal, CPU usage for gnome-shell increases to ~60% both with and without this extension (and also gnome-terminal itself consumes about 25%). Besides that I have Ubuntu Dock and Ubuntu AppIndicators - disabling them didn't affect CPU usage. evtest output attached. ** Attachment added: "evtest.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/2051383/+attachment/5749814/+files/evtest.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2051383 Title: gnome-shell high CPU utilization when moving a high frequency mouse To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/2051383/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Daniel, maybe this information will be useful for you, one core of my processor is always loaded more than others, and so on for 5 days. Unfortunately, I can't see which process loads exactly one core. Dear Daniel, there may be an incorrect translation. I mean, the system freezes when I work in programs, the response is long, even the mouse pointer moves slowly. The system almost always works quickly and well, but now after the upgrade, it has been working slowly for 5 days.[image: Screenshot from 2021-09-22 12-46-31.png] On Wed, Sep 22, 2021 at 12:40 PM Daniel van Vugt <1944...@bugs.launchpad.net> wrote: > Has the system always been slow since you installed it 298 days ago, or > did the problem start recently? > > -- > You received this bug notification because you are subscribed to the bug > report. > https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1944542 > > Title: > [Lenovo IdeaPad 5 15IIL05] very slow > > Status in Ubuntu: > Incomplete > > Bug description: > my system is very slow > > ProblemType: Bug > DistroRelease: Ubuntu 20.04 > Package: xorg 1:7.7+19ubuntu14 > ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.11.0-36.40~20.04.1-generic 5.11.22 > Uname: Linux 5.11.0-36-generic x86_64 > ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu27.20 > Architecture: amd64 > BootLog: Error: [Errno 13] Permission denied: '/var/log/boot.log' > CasperMD5CheckResult: skip > CompositorRunning: None > CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME > Date: Wed Sep 22 12:07:11 2021 > DistUpgraded: Fresh install > DistroCodename: focal > DistroVariant: ubuntu > GraphicsCard: >Intel Corporation Device [8086:8a56] (rev 07) (prog-if 00 [VGA > controller]) > Subsystem: Lenovo Device [17aa:3fd9] > InstallationDate: Installed on 2020-11-27 (298 days ago) > InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS "Focal Fossa" - Release amd64 > (20200731) > MachineType: LENOVO 81YK > ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-5.11.0-36-generic > root=UUID=a181ec35-bea8-4216-8066-0bb0b9f90034 ro quiet splash vt.handoff=7 > SourcePackage: xorg > UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) > dmi.bios.date: 01/15/2020 > dmi.bios.release: 1.39 > dmi.bios.vendor: LENOVO > dmi.bios.version: DPCN39WW > dmi.board.asset.tag: NO Asset Tag > dmi.board.name: LNVNB161216 > dmi.board.vendor: LENOVO > dmi.board.version: NO DPK > dmi.chassis.asset.tag: NO Asset Tag > dmi.chassis.type: 10 > dmi.chassis.vendor: LENOVO > dmi.chassis.version: IdeaPad 5 15IIL05 > dmi.ec.firmware.release: 1.39 > dmi.modalias: > dmi:bvnLENOVO:bvrDPCN39WW:bd01/15/2020:br1.39:efr1.39:svnLENOVO:pn81YK:pvrIdeaPad515IIL05:skuLENOVO_MT_81YK_BU_idea_FM_IdeaPad515IIL05:rvnLENOVO:rnLNVNB161216:rvrNODPK:cvnLENOVO:ct10:cvrIdeaPad515IIL05: > dmi.product.family: IdeaPad 5 15IIL05 > dmi.product.name: 81YK > dmi.product.sku: LENOVO_MT_81YK_BU_idea_FM_IdeaPad 5 15IIL05 > dmi.product.version: IdeaPad 5 15IIL05 > dmi.sys.vendor: LENOVO > version.compiz: compiz N/A > version.libdrm2: libdrm2 2.4.105-3~20.04.1 > version.libgl1-mesa-dri: libgl1-mesa-dri 21.0.3-0ubuntu0.3~20.04.1 > version.libgl1-mesa-glx: libgl1-mesa-glx N/A > version.xserver-xorg-core: xserver-xorg-core 2:1.20.11-1ubuntu1~20.04.2 > version.xserver-xorg-input-evdev: xserver-xorg-input-evdev N/A > version.xserver-xorg-video-ati: xserver-xorg-video-ati 1:19.1.0-1 > version.xserver-xorg-video-intel: xserver-xorg-video-intel > 2:2.99.917+git20200226-1 > version.xserver-xorg-video-nouveau: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau 1:1.0.16-1 > > To manage notifications about this bug go to: > https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1944542/+subscriptions > > ** Attachment added: "Screenshot from 2021-09-22 12-46-31.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1944542/+attachment/5526936/+files/Screenshot%20from%202021-09-22%2012-46-31.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1944542 Title: [Lenovo IdeaPad 5 15IIL05] very slow To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1944542/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1861395] Re: system hang: i915 Resetting rcs0 for hang on rcs0
Same issue Interesting thing, i got that errors, but all work fine, except libvirt/qemu/kvm, my VM didn't start. I go to logs and see that errors about i915 and suggest to restart libvirtd daemon, and when i stop admin socket ( meaning: sudo systemctl stop libvirtd-admin.socket ) system hangs up, exactly like in author post. [Bug 1926398] [NEW] Nautilus doesn't show folder name in Operations dialog
Public bug reported: When I copy a directory from one disk to another, Nautilus won't show its name next to the progress bar. It simply says "Copying N files to diskName". I think it should say something like: "Copying N files in directoryName to diskName". Reason: When you copy 2 big directories with a lot of files to the same destination and want to know which one is which, you can't differentiate between them since the directory name is not shown. If you want to cancel one of them, you also don't know which X button to click. See my attached screenshot. [Bug 1775717] Re: CPU/GPU Fans suddenly go 100% RPM on Asus ROG G752VT
Does anyone tested a bug against Language change. It is 100% reproducible in my case: 1) Turn on notebook with normal fan speed 2) Switch to RU language and start pressing buttons under it in some editor. 3) Fan goes maximal speed without any chance to stop it. [Bug 1775717] Re: CPU/GPU Fans suddenly go 100% RPM on Asus ROG G752VT
"blacklist=nouveau modprobe.blacklist=nouveau" Really? With what video driver i supposed to work then? `sudo powertop --auto-tune` As i said before and it still happens - my keyboard blocks in 100% after this command. I'm not able to run any other commands anymore. Here is start-up dmesg log against nvidia drivers and... it still reproducible with the very same steps. ** Attachment added: "dmesg_start_nvidia.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1775717/+attachment/5457395/+files/dmesg_start_nvidia.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1775717 Title: CPU/GPU Fans suddenly go 100% RPM on Asus ROG G752VT To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1775717/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
