Random pips are recorded in sound recorder.
When playing back, sometimes silence or just one pip is played instead.
Steps taken:
Insert USB mike.
Open sound preferences and select Samson Technologies Samson C01U USB Audio

I've upgraded to Intrepid and Umbrello now reports the following version

As a noob, I don't know what modprobe is but I have a Q70 running
Ubuntu 8.04 - fully patched - with Linux kernel 2.6.24-21 generic. I'm
