Public bug reported:

I'm new to Ubuntu with version 8.04. I'm running it on a Sumsung Q70
laptop with "T7300" Intel Core 2 Duo processor. I've used EnvyNGto set
up the NVidia control panels and used that (after granting perms on
/etc/X11) to create two separate X screens such that the panels along
the top and bottom of the screen stretch neatly to the corner without
being cut off. This is not a twinview configuration as such.

The problem I have is highly reproducable, I can turn the laptop on and
press the big red off button in the top right corner of the second
monitor (chonlogically second and external, numbered X screen 1). As
soon as I press the red button on this screen both desktops freeze.

The conditions in the freeze are that the mouse with work and the
display does not change, but no buttons or menus will operate. Nothing
can be resized or moved. Pressing ctrl, alt and backspace together does
cause X to shutdown.

     Importance: Undecided
