Re: [Bug 1888963] Re: My touchpad is not working at all on ubuntu

2020-07-28 Thread STEFANOS Marie-Ange
Hi, thanks for your answer.

Now I know that is a security issue and not a bug.
How can I fix this to be able to use the touchpad on Ubuntu on my laptop ?

[Bug 1878618] Re: AMD r9 390 Ubuntu focal 20.04 screen tearing and turns black

2020-05-18 Thread Stefanos Rontidis
apport information

** Tags added: apport-collected focal ubuntu

** Description changed:

  I recently installed Ubuntu focal. I understand that the current kernel
  witch comes with it contains the open source drivers, radeon and amdgpu.
  Although for some people it work out of the box for me that is not the
  case.

  VGA : ASUS R9 390 OC 8GB
  Monitor: Benq xl2411 1080p 144 hz
  Monitor: Generic 1080p 60hz

  In detail immediately after installation i had about 5 min before screen
  turns black. In the meanwhile i got intense screen tearing. Thinks got
  even worse when i added a 2nd monitor.

  I tried to find a workaround and i managed to get it at least to stay on
  even with 144hz refresh rate using it alone or both of the monitors with
  60hz using these kernel parameters in grub config.

  radeon.cik_support=0 radeon.si_support=0 amdgpu.cik_support=1
  amdgpu.si_support=1 amdgpu.dpm=1 amdgpu.dc=1

- but I cannot use the 1st monitor with 144hz and the 2nd one with 60hz.
- When i try to set the hertz higher on the first monitor thee second one
- blacks out.
+ but I cannot use the 1st monitor with 144hz and the 2nd one with 60hz. When i
try to set the hertz higher on the first monitor thee second one blacks out.

[Bug 1878618] [NEW] AMD r9 390 Ubuntu focal 20.04 screen tearing and turns black

2020-05-14 Thread Stefanos Rontidis
Public bug reported:

I recently installed Ubuntu focal. I understand that the current kernel
witch comes with it contains the open source drivers, radeon and amdgpu.
Although for some people it work out of the box for me that is not the
case.

VGA : ASUS R9 390 OC 8GB
Monitor: Benq xl2411 1080p 144 hz
Monitor: Generic 1080p 60hz

In detail immediately after installation i had about 5 min before screen
turns black. In the meanwhile i got intense screen tearing. Thinks got
even worse when i added a 2nd monitor.

I tried to find a workaround and i managed to get it at least to stay on
even with 144hz refresh rate using it alone or both of the monitors with
60hz using these kernel parameters in grub config.

radeon.cik_support=0 radeon.si_support=0 amdgpu.cik_support=1
amdgpu.si_support=1 amdgpu.dpm=1 amdgpu.dc=1

but I cannot use the 1st monitor with 144hz and the 2nd one with 60hz.
When i try to set the hertz higher on the first monitor thee second one
blacks out.

Tested successfully xserver-xorg-video-intel

Made a restart and did several suspends. The mouse cursor reappeared

seconds at the "starting up..." screen. Could you point me to the other

[Bug 397921] Re: fsprotect in karmic have unmet dependencies

2009-09-18 Thread Stefanos Harhalakis
Hello,

The aufs-tools depedency is there because it contains mount.aufs / umount.aufs.
AFAIK those are called by mount/umount (no?). Are you sure there is no need for
those files to exist? They claim to properly update mtab and umount.aufs calls
auplink when umounting.

Also, I'd be glad if you forwarded those bugs either to the Debian package via
Debian BTS or to me directly.

[Bug 314713] Re: linkedin very slow on Firefox Linux only

2009-06-16 Thread Stefanos
Linkedin may be the most prominent example, but there are other sites too that
exhibit similar problems. From my personal experience such sites are
- web banking site of greek Eurobank (www.eurobank.gr). After accepting the
login information, the site hangs until timeout
- Aegean Airlines site (www.aegeanair.gr). The last step (after giving credit
card data) hangs and times out.

I have a DLink DSL-2640B home router, and the above 2 sites, as well as
LinkedIn, got fixed after upgrading to version 4 of the router's
firmware.

[Bug 317626] Re: Linkedin not working right

2009-04-28 Thread Stefanos
This is getting strange. I tried now on my work network, and linkedin
works perfectly!

Both networks are on a dsl line, with different routers. Could it be a
router issue? And why then does it affect only firefox?
