I have this problem on my MSi Wind U100 after upgrading yesterday.
I have tried both unity --reset and the description from #39. None did work and
ended up with same result where the hole desktop environment disapered and
would not return. (Chrome and all other applications went into black)

I tried to edit what applications to be default in my Unbuntu setup, but
apperantly it does not apply my new settings through out the system. Eg. I used
to have banshee as my default music player, but now I want to use the Movie
player to play music. I change the settings
This bug should be considerd for the papercuts project. It is giving me
alot of papercuts any way

Default-application-chooser doesent do
No worries. Just happy to help make ubuntu better.
I clicked the small circle in the top right corner. Clicked system settings,
then system info, shifted to default applications, made my changes and closed
the window. My new settings are still the same when i reopen the window and
same after
I guess the bug is simular in the fact that changing the settings in defaulta
applications does not change the settings for default application to open
certain mimetype.
If this is the case in bug #876897 then these are duplicate bugs, just with
different mimetypes.

My speakers and headphones used to be able to play perfectly loud and
clear. After I updated from 11.04 to 11.10 I can hardly hear any thing.
I've checked all preferences in the sound menu and all the programs that
I usually play my media through, but I cant find the source

Binary package hint: netbook-launcher
I was editing the name on some of the thumbnails in alacarte. The name
appearers right in Alacarte, but when I go back to netbook-launcher the
name is still like before I edited it. The two different thumbnails I
tried to edit was one

It seems that netbook-launcher just needs to restart to catch the new
names. I tried both login off and back on and reboot and both times
netbook-launcher has updated the names
