[Bug 636319] [NEW] display artifacts with nouveau driver enabled
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau See the screenshots please. I've marked the problems with red. The bug was not found when using nvidia or nv driver instead. Besides, when I log out of KDE and come the login screen, it first shows a lot of garbage, I suppose, it's uncleared memory or something like that. Yes, failure is after rebooting. But if you do not reboot it works ok. How should I use depmod? Just sudo depmod have no effect, X fails to start. My steps are: 1. X fails to start with nvidia driver. 2. Ctrl+Alt+F1 3. sudo /etc/init.d/kdm stop 4. Editing xorg.conf, nvidia - nv. 5. sudo /etc/init.d/kdm start 6. X starts! So now I use nv and it's OK. Video card: Nvidia GeForce 6600 GT. I use sudo m-a a-i nvidia for building and installing kernel module. I use kdm with KDE 3.5.7 repository for Kubuntu Feisty. Sorry, I think it's not actually problem with mms://. It's a problem that leads to closing Firefox when it opens new window (the link I used was mms://). To reproduce you should do next: 1. Open http://www.radiorus.ru/index.html in Firefox. 2. See attached screenshot and open the link as it is showed. In my system it leads to closing Firefox. I can't include any file from /var/crash as there is no one about Firefox (so maybe it's not crash at all?). How to reproduce it: if you insert mms:// link in browser it's ok - Totem will be opened. But if you click on mms:// link on a page it leads to closing Firefox.
