[Bug 1783972] [NEW] libglew-dev does not include cmake config files
Public bug reported: libglew-dev does not include the cmake files required in /usr/lib/cmake/glew CopyImportedTargetProperties.cmake glew-config.cmake glew-targets.cmake glew-targets-release.cmake These allow the GLEW library to be found by CMake's find_package() function when used in config mode. [Bug 1782459] [NEW] Upgrade to Chef 13.8.7 package from upstream
Public bug reported: Chef 12 is currently end of life and many cookbook maintainers including Chef are dropping support for Chef 12 in their cookbooks. This makes it very difficult to use the Chef release included in Ubuntu with modern codebases. Debian sid currently has Chef 13.8.7, which isn't current, but is still a supported release. [Bug 207065] Re: Bad Compiz Bindings Bug
I just want to confirm that I have the same exact experience. The two settings (General - Window Menu [mouse] Resize Window - Initiate Window Resize [mouse]) are tied together. For example, I thought to work around this bug by setting General - Window Menu value to SuperAltControlShiftButton3 (to effectively disable it). Then, when I looked at Resize Window - Initiate Window Resize, it was changed to SuperAltControlShiftButton2. It appears there's no way to swap the two functions, or indeed to change one but not the other. -- Bad Compiz Bindings Bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/207065 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Unfortunetly it looks like there are lots of problems with getting this to work if the system automounts. There are a few different hacks that people have used to get the eject menu item to work. Both involve editing the eject action in /usr/share/mythtv/optical_menu.xml. Some users change the action to EXEC umount /dev/dvd; eject, but most users seem to be changing this to EXEC eject. [Bug 98804] Removing all MythTV packages should prompt to remove the user account
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: mythtv I just noticed when removing all the mythtv related packages on my system for a clean MythTV install that removing the packages does not prompt to remove the account. I realize there is a chance that there could be data in that account that a user possibly doesn't want removed, but they should be given the option. Ubuntu shouldn't just be leaving accounts around after packages are removed. It would seem that uninstalling at least the master backend meta package could prompt the user to remove the account. They could always opt out and leave the account. ** Affects: mythtv (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Removing all MythTV packages should prompt to remove the user account https://launchpad.net/bugs/98804 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 98804] Re: Removing all MythTV packages should prompt to remove the user account

[Bug 41339] Re: Mythtv won't install
This bug still exists in MythTV today (3.26.07) in Beta 1+ updates. It's a real pain. There's a meta package to setup a complete mythtv backend that should make it simple for a user to configure but actually breaks their system because the mythtv-database package will not configure. Problem: mysql-server is a dependency of mythtv-backend. When mythtv- backend is installed the mysql server is installed, but not configured with a password for the root user. Then mythtv-backend prompts the user for the root's password, but not properly distinguish between the root user's plain old password (which may / may not exist) and the mysql user's password. The user doesn't know what the mysql server password is so they enter their own password or something else and the package fails. Solution: When mythtv-backend or similar meta packages trigger the installation of mysql they need to configure it. A password for the root user should be set and then mythtv-backend should be setup using this password. Otherwise this whole meta-package should go away because as it is the package just breaks systems until you remove mythtv- database or manually setup a password. -- Mythtv won't install https://launchpad.net/bugs/41339 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 96734] mythtv-frontend interface does not show menus
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: mythtv-frontend I just did a clean install of Feisty Beta 1 and after installing the ubuntu-mythtv-frontend meta package and rebooting the mythtv-frontend application lacks and menus. The program has not crashed. I can see the background images change as I scroll up / down and I can select the menus which then show the proper information, but the actual menus are simply missing. The same thing occurs in mythtv-setup. [Bug 96739] User should be told what the mythtv user account password is
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: mythtv When mythtv is installed it creates the user mythtv which does not show up in the gnome user manager. The password for this account is never given. It is necessary to do certain tasks as this account to setup a mythtv machine. The user should be told the password for this account or prompted to create the password for this account. ** Affects: mythtv (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- User should be told what the mythtv user account password is https://launchpad.net/bugs/96739 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 96737] ubuntu-mythtv-frontend does not allow user to run mythtv-setup for configuration
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ubuntu-mythtv-frontend The ubuntu-mythtv-frontend meta package does not allow the user to run the mythtv-setup application necessary to configure their mythtv installation. This meta package configures GDM to automatically login to fluxbox as the user mythtv. When the myth-frontend is closed the account automatically logs out. Since mythtv-setup needs to be run as the user mythtv and the password for the mythtv account is unknown the user there is no way to properly configure a backend/frontend machine out the box. ** Affects: mythtv (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- ubuntu-mythtv-frontend does not allow user to run mythtv-setup for configuration https://launchpad.net/bugs/96737 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
