[Bug 1943043] [NEW] Multiple CPUs stuck at 100% usage
Public bug reported: System boots fine, but after several hours, a random process will consume 100% CPU (all kernel time), if the pi is left on longer, this will happen to more cpus. At the same time the interrupt count for "fe00b880.mailbox" drops dramatically. Hi there, I'm afraid I haven't had much time to look properly into this recently, but it remains on my list. [Bug 1889548] Re: ssh using gssapi will enforce FILE: credentials cache
Hi Christian, Again, thanks for the above. https://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2775, in particular, looks interesting, as it seems to be an attempt to bring the relevant ccache patches up to date for version 8. e.g. we have been patching our SL systems additionally for https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1199363. I'll give this a try and report back. I'll hold off on reporting this as a bug upstream until I've tried the patch(es). [Bug 1889548] Re: ssh using gssapi will enforce FILE: credentials cache
Hi Christian, Thanks for your reply (and for the links). I agree that a configurable option coming from upstream would be the preferred option. I'll submit a bug upstream accordingly and note the ID here. I note there's a patch referenced in the openssh mailing list link, unfortunately the link is a 404 - I'll see if I can track it down via other means. On this topic, we've been using ssh on scientific linux for a number of years now and that is patched to use the default ccache name. It would be interesting to see if it's the same or similar as the 404 patch above. Depending on the outcome of my upstream bug report, I'll see if I can port any patches we use to the current ubuntu/upstream code base. As to your final question re: regression - I don't think so, looking at the code, but we are only now in the process of converting desktop machines to ubuntu. [Bug 1889548] [NEW] ssh using gssapi will enforce FILE: credentials cache
Public bug reported: Hi, ssh connections from a client with the following in ssh_config... GSSAPIAuthentication yes GSSAPIDelegateCredentials yes ... to an ubuntu 20.04 machine result in KRB5CCNAME being set to 'FILE:/tmp/krb5cc_[uid]_[random]' despite the following in /etc/krb5.conf: [libdefaults] ... default_ccache_name = KEYRING:persistent:%{uid} This means that we cannot enforce a policy to use KEYRING ccaches across our systems. Authentications which go via the pam stack (e.g. login to the machine at the console or over ssh using a password) can be configured to use a KEYRING ccache, via libpam-krb5 settings in /etc/krb5.conf. The FILE: setting seems to be hard-coded in the openssh code (auth- krb5.c). It would be great if ssh(gssapi-with-mic) connections either (a) set KRB5CCNAME to the default_ccache_name value, if set in /etc/krb5.conf, or (b) didn't set KRB5CCNAME at all, so the system default is used. [Bug 1605813] Re: lock screen freezes while trying to wake from suspend
I'm experiencing this again, now without AC power (I think that was a red herring). It seems to be if I: - Reboot - Close the lid (which suspends the machine) - Reopen the list I've also noticed that certain things still render. If I plug/unplug the AC adapter, I will continue to see "battery charging/discharging" notification popups. Additionally, I had a log file open on the screen in VS Code. I changed the contents of this file from ctrl-alt-f1 virtual console, then switched back to my graphical session, and the displayed text in VS Code updated! But I still could not interact with anything on-screen, beyond moving the mouse (no mouseover animations, nothing happens when clicking with touchpad or mouse, no keyboard response). Attached dmesg output - session suspend/wake is the last ~60 lines. ** Attachment added: "dmesg output" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lightdm/+bug/1605813/+attachment/5360248/+files/dmesg-session-frozen -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1605813 Title: lock screen freezes while trying to wake from suspend To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lightdm/+bug/1605813/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1605813] Re: lock screen freezes while trying to wake from suspend
I've just experienced this problem (or very similar) on a fresh install of Xubuntu 20.04, on a Thinkpad x240. On wake, I could move the mouse, and switch to a virtual console with ctrl-alt-f1. The session would sometimes animate for a moment (e.g. a notification about change in wifi), before freezing completely (except for mouse). I did not try killing/restarting any sessions. This happened both when selecting sleep then pressing the power button to wake, and when sleeping by closing the laptop lid and opening to wake. The laptop was plugged into AC power the entire time. The problem persisted across reboots, but stopped occurring (seemingly) when I rebooted, then unplugged the laptop from AC power. I can now wake successfully with the laptop both plugged and unplugged. Haven't tried rebooting again since. I have no proprietary drivers installed. `sudo lshw -C display`: *-display description: VGA compatible controller product: Haswell-ULT Integrated Graphics Controller vendor: Intel Corporation physical id: 2 bus info: pci@:00:02.0 version: 0b width: 64 bits clock: 33MHz capabilities: msi pm vga_controller bus_master cap_list rom configuration: driver=i915 latency=0 resources: irq:50 memory:e000-e03f memory:c000-dfff ioport:3000(size=64) memory:c-d Attached config files, which might contain relevant power manager settings. ** Attachment added: "The contents of ~/.config/xfce4/xfconf" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lightdm/+bug/1605813/+attachment/5360220/+files/xfconf.tar.gz -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1605813 Title: lock screen freezes while trying to wake from suspend To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lightdm/+bug/1605813/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1830930] [NEW] USB 3 devices are not detected on thunderbolt 3
Public bug reported: I found a strange problem when trying to connect my Samsung T5 SSD. If I connect it to the Thunderbolt port on my HP EliteDesk Mini G4, with Thunderbolt at boot then the SSD is detected without issues. If I unplug it and reconnect then it's not detected. If I force the thunderbolt controller on (boltctl power -t 1) then I can see the new USB host created in lsusb but the attached device is not added. No additional events are shown in dmesg. If I connect the device using another cable then it also doesn't work I have a USB-C cable only rated to USB 2.0 speed then the device is recognized without any issues. [Bug 1428490] Re: AppArmor vs unix socket inside LXC containers
Hi, It's been 18 months since I reported this bug. Sorry for the slow response to your question, but it did come about a year after I raised the issue. This was detected on Ubuntu Server 14.04 LTS. I am no longer able to tell you which kernel was being run at the time. I suspect it's still likely to be a problem on the 14.4 LTS, however we moved to 16.04 LTS this year and haven't heard any more complaints from our team. We're also mostly using Docker now rather than LXC. [Bug 275645] Re: xcalc has order-of-operations problems
@jarnos My hypothesis in the original post is that, when the calculator should close two levels of implicit grouping, it closes only one. Regardless of whether that is correct, there is a program, and it must follow some algorithm, so there must be a rule, whether or not we know it. If the rule was programmed deliberately, then it was by design. Of course, whether by design or not, it is a flaw. @richwareham is just wondering whether or not this is a flaw in the TI-30 or HP-10C calculators that xcalc deliberately copies. In other words, was the bug introduced in those historical calculators, or was it introduced in xcalc? (And in the fomer case, then what should we do about it?) This report is 7 years old, and I had forgotten ever making it, but the bug is still there in my current system! [Bug 1284273] Re: Musescore mistakenly suspends pulseaudio because of missing gawk
Pàll, please calm down, and read [1] for information on bug importance levels. At most this is of 'Medium' importance, but most likely, given that there is a very simple work-around, this is of 'Low' importance. It would also be appreciated if you stop modifying the report, since we are aware that it exists, and every change just sends more e-mails. This bug is also clearly not in PulseAudio, but in MuseScore's handling of it. Previously, MuseScore used gawk to detect PulseAudio, but the dependency was later changed to mawk (as that was better suited to Debian). This check is now obsolete, and so new upload of MuseScore is in progress to remove it.
