[Bug 564181] Re: [RV730] GPU soft reset infinite loop scrolling in firefox with compiz
Immediately after upgrading to Kubuntu 10.04 AMD64, the system would enter this video loop symptom as described after login and as items were added to the system tray. I removed several packages (hplip-gui and kdebluetooth) that load into the system tray and it had no affect. I booted into recovery mode as root and started X. It came up but was notified that Nepomuk needed Virtuoso and that there were some missing language files. I corrected the missing language files and installed the virtuoso-server package, and then was able to login without the system going into this loop mode for several hours. When it did enter the video loop state again, it occurred immediately after I removed a USB flash drive. It does not happen consistently as I was unable to reproduce this. This parallels bugs 568605 and 565323. I hope this provides some clue as to what's happening. -- [RV730] GPU soft reset infinite loop scrolling in firefox with compiz https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/564181 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 374717] Re: ntp in kubuntu jaunty does not configure
Using Kubuntu 9.04 with all patches to date are applied. Noticed when I navigate to: System -- System Settings -- Date Time when I check the Set date and time automatically checkbox, click the Apply button, and then exit, it does not retain the setting. If you navigate away from Date Time in the System Settings panel (like returning to Overview), it will retain the setting (stay checked) until you exit System Settings. I verified that only the ntpdate package is installed, not the ntp package. I've not installed the ntp package yet as buntunub did above. [Bug 346238] Re: USB HD do not mount in 2.6.28-11 kernel
I've upgraded to KDE 4.2.3 to fix some Kontact problems, but it had no affect on this issue. I noticed that when I plug in a flash drive, KDE recognizes both the flash drive and the external USB drive. I don't know if this is a result of KDE 4.2.3 or not. I'd like to use this external USB drive for backups. My intent was to setup Keep to backup the directories where most of my data resides and have it sync the data to folders on this external drive periodically. However, if the drive isn't mounted at boot time, this isn't going to work without manual intervention (create a USB event). I'm uncertain if this is a KDE issue or a Kernel USB subsystem issue, or somewhere in between. Any pointers on where to look/start would be appreciated. My issues don't seem to correspond to the fatal issues Henny experienced, and I'm again uncertain if these are related. When playing other audio applications that do work, if I play an Adobe Flash file, it cuts out all audio except for a very soft static sound that's barely audible. I've applied all available software updates. Problem still persists. Adobe web site has 10,0,22,87 as the most current available version, which is what's available and installed from the Ubuntu mirrors. [Bug 367470] [NEW] Java 6 plugin install issue and not displaying video game controls correctly for runescape.com
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: sun-java6-plugin When I attempted to install sun-java6-plugin (AMD64) using KPackageKit, it failed noting that it could not display the license agreement. This works fine on a Windows XP system also using Java6, so pretty sure this is a bug of some kind. This game can be played in limited mode without paying a fee. [Bug 70778] Re: It crash at startup
Got virtually identical error on Kubuntu 8.04. [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ amaya (amaya_bin:7723): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_widget_set_colormap: assertion `!GTK_WIDGET_REALIZED (widget)' failed The program 'amaya_bin' received an X Window System error. This probably reflects a bug in the program. The error was 'BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)'. (Details: serial 8376 error_code 8 request_code 158 minor_code 5) (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously; that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it. To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)
