[Bug 1462723] [NEW] lightdm quits at startup when beamer is connected
Public bug reported: I have a beamer. Since installation of kubuntu-15.04 I can't log into my account if the beamer is connected. The kubuntu splash screen show up alright, but takes a bit longer to complete, then I am dropped into a black screen with a (movable) mouse pointer. [Bug 1373969] Re: Ubuntu 14.04 blank screen after wakeup from sleep on Toshiba Satellite (M50D-A-100)
I've got a bit more info. As you can also see in the 'mainline kernel install log' attachment, since this same update, I also have a graphics driver problem: no more opengl/hardware accelleration, with all of the 3 driver options (fglrx, fglrx-updates, xorg). Before I used fglrx-updates because this seemed to work the best of the 3 (not good, but better than the rest). After install of the mainline kernel, I tried switching to the xorg option: still no opengl, but at least suspend/resume seems to work now! When I resume the computer, I get a flash of random multicolored dots and stripes, but I don't have to ctrl-alt-del anymore. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1373969 Title: Ubuntu 14.04 blank screen after wakeup from sleep on Toshiba Satellite (M50D-A-100) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1373969/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1017852] [NEW] KMail filters very slow
Public bug reported: I just installed spamassassin. Now, when I start KMail, the UI is responsive for about 3 seconds, then, I suppose, new messages are filtered, so the UI blocks until spamassassin completes checking all mails. This sometimes takes up to 1 hour to finish. I believe the filtering code should run in it's own thread, seperate from the KMail UI thread, so KMail can still be used if the filtering takes a long time. tomas@tomas:~$ lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu 11.10 Release:11.10 tomas@tomas:~$ apt-cache policy kmail kmail: Installed: 4:4.7.4+git111222-0ubuntu0.1 Candidate: 4:4.7.4+git111222-0ubuntu0.1 Version table: *** 4:4.7.4+git111222-0ubuntu0.1 0 500 http://be.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ oneiric-updates/main i386 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 4:4.7.2+git111007-0ubuntu1 0 500 http://be.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ oneiric/main i386 Packages ** Affects: kdepim (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to kdepim in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1017852 Title: KMail filters very slow To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kdepim/+bug/1017852/+subscriptions -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs

[Bug 362205] Re: plasma crashed with SIGSEGV in QByteArray::replace() (after changing screen resolution)
1. After some experiments, I figured out that this only happens when the screen resolution is changed to something smaller than 800x600. 2. I installed the release version of Ubuntu 9.04 recently (was running the beta before) and here the problems seems to be fixed. -- plasma crashed with SIGSEGV in QByteArray::replace() (after changing screen resolution) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/362205 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 282577] [NEW] autocomplete in grub shell doesn't work
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: grub I wanted to reinstall grub to the MBR, so I enter grub shell: >sudo grub I select the root partition: grub>root (hd0[TAB] and I just get a real TAB instead of autocomplete. [Bug 109672] Re: Windows 2000 hangs on start when grub is used
I did a couple of trials. I was wondering what 'savedefault' was doing in my Vista entry in menu.lst, it shouldn't be there so I removed it. And to my surprise that seemed to solve the problem! So I rebooted once more and added it again from the Grub gui at boot and got the error: "Selected cylinder exceeds maximum supported by BIOS." Rebooted without 'savedefault' and it works. All very strange to me. What does 'savedefault' have to do with this behaviour? Way beyond my understanding. This is the entry after upgrade (that doesn't work): # This entry automatically added by the Debian installer for a non-linux OS # on /dev/sda3 title Windows Vista/Longhorn (loader) root(hd0,2) makeactive savedefault chainloader +1 This is the one that works: title Windows Vista/Longhorn (loader) root(hd0,2) makeactive chainloader +1 -- Windows 2000 hangs on start when grub is used https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/109672 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 109672] Re: Windows 2000 hangs on start when grub is used
I just enabled hardy-proposed updates in Synaptic package manager and installed suggested updates. Since then I can't boot into my Vista system anymore I suspect there's a problem in the Grub version that got installed (0.97-29ubuntu21) because I never had any boot problems before. The menu.lst seems seems OK to me. -- Windows 2000 hangs on start when grub is used https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/109672 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
