[Bug 1724876] Re: libreoffice soffice.bin using 100% cpu
This bug continues to affect me: ubuntu 18.04 LTS, LO Version: 6.0.7.3 Build ID: 1:6.0.7-0ubuntu0.18.04.2 IMPORTANT: I've noticed a link between web browser and this bug. Read bellow: When Firefox and LO are together opened, then, after a while, LO CPU usage jumps to 100%. As soon as I close Firefox, LO CPU usage falls to less than 4%. I've noticed the same behaviour when Chromium is used. I can say that this bug appears also when LO is opened, but no document opened (I mean, only the home LO window opened). So closing the browser used and opened when LO is opened, down the CPU usage from strange 100% to normal less than 4%. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1724876 Title: libreoffice soffice.bin using 100% cpu To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/1724876/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1724876] Re: libreoffice soffice.bin using 100% cpu
Hello. Affected also by the same 100% CPU soffice.bin with a document containing only one page of text with no image at all, whatever I close or not other applications or software. Ubuntu LTS 18.04, and LibreOffice Version: 6.0.6.2 - Build ID: 1:6.0.6-0ubuntu0.18.04.1 In terminal, the command 'top' returns: ... 2 zombies ... %CPU 100%, %MEM 8,3% soffice.bin It is really boring. [Bug 1796711] Re: Nautilus not generating image thumbnails
+1. I'm also affected by the same bug, after moving from 16.04 LTS to 18.04 LTS using upgrade process driven by update manager. Thumbnails of files was visible under 16.04 LTS. [Bug 1307619] Re: All Qt5 applications' menu bar is missing at non-Unity DEs after appmenu-qt5 installed
Hi. This bug of absence of menu bar affects also the usage of OPENSCAD when used under ubuntu 14-04 and gnome-shell. OPENSCAD menu bar is accessible under Ubuntu14-04 UNITY (or METACITY ...) with appmenu-qt5 installed. But, under gnome-shell+Ubuntu14-04, with appmenu-qt5 installed, the menu bar is not accessible (no menu bar at all). However, under gnome-shell+ubuntu14-04, uninstalling appmenu-qt5 allows to access to the menu of OPENSCAD. The menu bar is present. However, the behaviour to acess to sub-items of menu bar, works in 2 steps: 1/ clic one time on the item menu does not show the subitem; 2/ reclic again on the same menu item allows to get the subitems. And, with appmenu-qt5 uninstalled under Ubuntu14-04 UNITY, the menu bar is still visible and accessible, but its behaviour to access to sub-items is also changed (in 2 clic instead of 1 clic). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1307619 Title: All Qt5 applications' menu bar is missing at non-Unity DEs after appmenu-qt5 installed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/lyx/+bug/1307619/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 651782] Re: Booting into recovery mode and selecting resume normal boot brings you to a text login
Hi, As mentions in bug #690084, I've similar problem using recovery mode using Lucid Lynx. Booting into recovery mode and selecting resume normal boot jumps me to a text login, from where I enter my login and my password. Then I can start graphic mode entering and running startx command from there, but it brings me to a pass word menu for which I do not know what to do. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/651782 Title: Booting into recovery mode and selecting resume normal boot brings you to a text login -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 690084] Re: Lucid Lynx LTS: recovery mode drops to a login prompt (tty1) instead of starting X
Just an additive point. When I arrive to the login prompt, which is not proposed in a graphic mode (meaning, X has not started yet), I enter my login and my password. In order to start the graphic mode, I've tried to start X. So I wrote startx, and then enter. The graphic mode starts, and the desktop appears. [Bug 450879] Re: can't reboot in recovery mode
Hi, I'm DELL VOSTRO 1510 user, and Lucid Lynx LTS. When I want to boot on recovery mode from grub menu, choosing Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS, kernel 2.6.32-26-generic (recovery mode) in the grub menu, the recovery mode starts and goes to the blue box menu asking for type of Ubuntu start. I select the normal start and finally that drops to a login prompt (tty1 - I enter my login and my pwd) instead of starting X.. Then the machine is blocked, X does not start, nothing happens. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/450879 Title: can't reboot in recovery mode -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 690084] [NEW] Lucid Lynx LTS: recovery mode drops to a login prompt (tty1) instead of starting X
Public bug reported: 1) Ubuntu release : Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS, kernel 2.6.32-26-generic 2) Package name: Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS, kernel 2.6.32-26-generic (recovery mode) resume normal boot after grub menu 3) What I expected to happen: I expected that after choosing recovery mode in grub menu and Resume normal boot in the gray box menu which appear at the end of the recovey mode process, I will go directly to a normal start of Ubuntu (as with Hardy LTS recovery mode in the past). 4) What happened instead: When I choose Resume normal boot in the blue/gray box menu at the end of recovery mode, then it drops me to a login prompt as root (tty1) instead of starting X. I enter my login and my pswd, but nothing happen. I have to shut down the machine, and then restart without choosing recovery mode from grub menu, which works fine. I insist: the Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS, kernel 2.6.32-26-generic boot works fine, but the end process of recovery mode goes finally to a root login prompt, and not to a normal boot. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/690084 Title: Lucid Lynx LTS: recovery mode drops to a login prompt (tty1) instead of starting X -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 80415] language disruption
Public bug reported: I've used Ubuntu Dapper for 6 months with no real problem. My language packs installed are French (principal) and English. All my option menu and tex applications was translated in French when opening. But : Since yesterday, suddenly, after an automatic common update, many disruptions appeared in option menus of ALL applications, as well as Nautilius or Evolution, or Desk menu. Facts : For a same application, some option menus are in English when other option menus of this application are in French, without any logic. For exemple I can read : Système - Préférences - About me - Assistive ... - Bureau à distance - Desktop background - disque amovible etc ... [Bug 43961] Re: Power down after shutdown does not work...
Ok, Not easy to find a secured way. I returned to 386 and checked it has always worked well. On 386, my IBM thinkpad A20m still shutdown normaly.
