[Bug 87312] Re: xsane should not detect TV cards
this is not a bug at all. this is a feature of SANE. so that Xsane removes the TV card from the options, you should comment all the lines in the file /etc/sane.d/v4l.conf simply add a symbol # in the beginning of each line of this file. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/87312 Title: xsane should not detect TV cards To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sane-backends/+bug/87312/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 584831] [NEW] nm-applet tends to disappear w/compiz on
Public bug reported: I noticed this bug on two machines with nvidia graphic-cards. Scenario. 1. nm-applet acts as normal on a machine with compiz turned off: the applet appears on start every time. 2. when you turn on desktop effects, the following occasionally happens: during the taskbar load a space gets reserved for the nm-applet, but the applet itself does not appear, and the space either gets filled with some duplicate icon (i.e. there appears a second sound icon or a second google desktop icon or whatever), or it is just left empty - so I get a gap between icons in taskbar. and of course, this empty space/double icon does not act as either nm-applet or the icon it shows. 3. but when I remove the taskbar from the panel and add it again, all the icons, including nm-applet, are back there. the problem is critical on one of my machines, because there my girlfriend is sitting and needs the VPN internet connection. and this connection can only be established manually through the nm-applet. so when she starts the computer with nm-applet gone, she gets totally confused. So I had to turn off effects on her machine, and this is indeed not the best decision. P.S. this has been happenning on Ubuntu 7-9.10. don't know about 10.04 - didn't try it, and not ready to install it, yet. [Bug 556000] Re: [Asus a8n-sli Premium AMD Athlon 64] late resume failure [non-free: nvidia]
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected ** Description changed: this was an auto-report, but I suppose it concerns problems with suspending and resuming my PC, as well as hybernation. all of these simply do not work at this machine under Ubuntu 9.10. the system seems to get into a sleep mode/hybernation OK until it gets to the point when the power should be turned off. the power stays on, and there is no way to get Ubuntu back, except powering it off and on again. ProblemType: KernelOops Annotation: This occured during a previous suspend and prevented it from resuming properly. The resume processing hung very near the end and will have appeared to have completed normally. [Bug 556000] [NEW] [Asus a8n-sli Premium AMD Athlon 64] late resume failure [non-free: nvidia]
Public bug reported: this was an auto-report, but I suppose it concerns problems with suspending and resuming my PC, as well as hybernation. all of these simply do not work at this machine under Ubuntu 9.10. the system seems to get into a sleep mode/hybernation OK until it gets to the point when the power should be turned off. the power stays on, and there is no way to get Ubuntu back, except powering it off and on again. ProblemType: KernelOops Annotation: This occured during a previous suspend and prevented it from resuming properly. [Bug 327362] Re: Some ISPs have .local domain which disables avahi-daemon
I have this bug in Ubuntu 9.10. I believe it is somehow related to network-manager, and this is why: I installed Ubuntu Minimal with gdm, but instead of installing network-manager, I installed wicd. and avahi worked great! but then I needed to set up broadband connection, and since wicd doesn't have the option, I replaced it with network-manager. and at this very point avahi stopped working with the message about .local. getting back to wicd did not solve the problem. so the thing must be in some config files that are being altered during a network-manager installation. -- Some ISPs have .local domain which disables avahi-daemon https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/327362 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 494179] [NEW] TomBoy fails to sync with Ubuntu One if there are no local notes
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ubuntuone-client I made a clean install of ubuntu, opened Tomboy, removed those How to start and Using links notes, so my Tomboy became virgin clean. At this point I asked it to sync with Ubuntu One, where I have several notes under one tag. everything went fine and I even noticed the names of the notes syncing with Tomboy. But suddenly it just terminated. When I started it again, it had no notes, but my tag was there. New attempts to sync wuth U1 resulted in an error message telling me to read ~/.Tomboy.log for the error details. I didn't find the log there. I just created a new note and synced again. And everything worked like magic! So I suppose that if you try to sync empty Tomboy, you will get the same bug.
