[Bug 580961] Re: unzip fails to deal correctly with filename encodings

2010-10-16 Thread cbrmichi
As some of your comments aren´t very helpful please stop moaning, stop
defamation and simply stop writing unhelpful things.
you accomplished to banish the only one who had been working on this issue.
Can YOU do this? No? So why are you doing this?

There is no company working on this problem, one of us has to do this.
If you want someone to help you, you have to be friendly or use
commercial software.

[Bug 227213] Re: [hardy] FSC v5505 Cannot activate / deactivate wireless lan by pressing hotkey

2010-06-24 Thread cbrmichi
Jeremy,
i still got this issue.
I do not know what full access to private data means, but i don´t like it.
What informations do you need? It would be helpful, if you could give me
another command, where i can check which informations will be sent, before
giving it online.

Michael

[Bug 398316] Re: cant decompress files with ü

2009-10-03 Thread cbrmichi
i got the same error here with another file. the file is created with
openoffice, named Übung.doc, then compressed in test.zip with ubuntu
9.04. then i sent it per mail to another computer and tried to
decompress it with ubuntu 9.10.

when trying to open the file in the archive there is following error:
caution: filename not matched: Ã\?bung.doc

when locale in the console told me i use de_DE.UTF-8 the file was named
bung.doc (ungültige Kodierung) and couldn´t be opened.
directly after changing locales to de...@euro the error persisted.
after some reboots i now can decompress the zip file. the file in the archive
now can be extracted and be read. in another archive the files have wrong names
but now can be read.

so where´s the error?

[Bug 227213] Re: [hardy] FSC v5505 Cannot activate / deactivate wireless lan by pressing hotkey

2008-12-19 Thread cbrmichi
Hi,
while I was testing how this could be done, I found out, that I simply had to
change one number in a file.
Then I wrote 2 scripts (because I didn't know how to do this in one script and
didn't had the time to look for it).
I attached the 2 scripts, the command is very simple.
Then I made a keyboard shortcut in compiz. Ctrl+Alt+Q for turning wireless off,
Ctrl+Alt+W for turning it on.
It WORKS.

So, if you can do that, would you please write ONE script out of that and maybe
you can show us how to use the side button...
I cannot afford the time right know.

Greetings from Germany,
Michael

[Bug 227202] Re: [hardy] Cannot unlock touchpad FSC V5505

2008-10-11 Thread cbrmichi
Hi Bryce,

i attached a zip file with the outputs of 3 different tries.
at first, i locked the touchpad. i could not unlock die touchpad, so i
connected my mouse and did a reboot. after reboot the touchpad was unlocked. i
disconnected the mouse, did a X restart and then copied the output. so i saved
the output (directory trackpad) and did another try.

so i locked the touchpad one more time and rebootet without connecting a mouse
and saved the output (directory no touchpad).
after that i connected my mouse and rebootet one more time. but now the
touchpad was not unlocked. because the Xorg.0.log was a little bit different i
attached this outputs, too (directory no touchpad - reboot with mouse).

what the keys should do:

fn+f8: brightness down
fn+f9: brightness up
___

keycodes:

NO xev output for fn+f8, but it works under windows.
xev output for fn + f9 :

KeyPress event, serial 31, synthetic NO, window 0x421,
root 0x59, subw 0x0, time 2598525, (174,-9), root:(1022,573),
state 0x0, keycode 239 (keysym 0x0, NoSymbol), same_screen YES,
XLookupString gives 0 bytes:
XmbLookupString gives 0 bytes:
XFilterEvent returns: False

KeyRelease event, serial 31, synthetic NO, window 0x421,
