Ankur Jain, Thank you for testing Ubuntu One that is a great help. We would need the client log from the time of the test to start analyzing the problem. Just zip your $HOME/.cache/ubuntuone/log/ folder and attach the zip here. You can zip the folder by right-clicking on it and selecting compress. Attach the logs to this bug report using the 'Add Attachment or Patch' button at the bottom of the page. Can you also include the name of the User Defined Folder(UDF) you used in the test. After you attach the logs you can change the 'Status' of your bug back to 'New'. [Bug 672884] Re: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply messages when trying to interact with syncdaemon via u1sdtool
Jeff, This happens because of a less then optimal way metadata is handled in versions prior to what is now in nightlies and Natty Narwhal. Basically that's bug LP:436612. Anyone who has a fairly large number of files in their Ubuntu One directory I believe would want to try the nightlies PPA (please note that downgrade to older metadata storage is not possible). If you are interested in testing the new improved metadata storage (which takes syncdaemon about a second or two to start) then please have a look at https://launchpad.net/~ubuntuone/+archive/nightlies. [Bug 665749] Re: Cant unsyc folder
This happens because the request to unsync the folder is added at the end of the queue. So it will only remove the folder after the complete sync of all the metadata. The U1 team is currently discussing ways to better handle this. You can run this command in a Terminal to see the metadata queue. At the end you should see the DeleteVolume. u1sdtool --waiting-metadata If you want to remove a folder fast that you have accidentally added to the queue you can follow these steps: u1sdtool --list-folders - note the ID that is used by new UDF u1sdtool --unsubscribe-folder=$ID (where $ID = id that was received by running list-folders) u1sdtool --quit - this will quit the syncdaemon and drop the queue u1sdtool --start - start syncdaemon again, but do not connect (in new terminal, since this will not release the terminal right away) - u1sdtool --delete-folder=$ID (back in the original Terminal) u1sdtool --connect thanks, duanedesign -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/665749 Title: Cant unsyc folder -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 706825] Re: Ubuntu One can not handle the synchronization of a folder with lots of files
KirkoR, Ubuntu One syncs the metadata (folders) first, then the content. 84,209 files will likely take a bit of time you might want to leave the computer on for awhile. There is a certain amount of overhead that must be done each time you shut down and start back up. So shutting the computer down while it is syncing can increase the amount of time the sync will take. You can use the following commands to see how many, if any, files are left in the queue. u1sdtool --waiting-metadata | wc -l u1sdtool --waiting-content | wc -l i would leave the computer on until both those are 0. Or at least now you can tell if it is making any progress. If you decide you dont want to stop the sync and remove the folders from the cloud do the following steps. u1sdtool --list-folders - note the ID that is used by new UDF u1sdtool --unsubscribe-folder=$ID (where $ID = id that was received by running list-folders) u1sdtool --quit - this will quit the syncdaemon and drop the queue u1sdtool --start - start syncdaemon again, but do not connect (in new terminal, since this will not release the terminal right away) - u1sdtool --delete-folder=$ID (back in the original terminal) u1sdtool --connect respectfully, duanedesign -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/706825 Title: Ubuntu One can not handle the synchronization of a folder with lots of files -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 666404] Re: Cannot reliably delete contacts
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 673568 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/673568 Marking this as a duplicate of LP:673568 since the reason why contacts cannot be edited or deleted is the corrupted internal structures of the document that is being JSON-encoded via couchdb-glib and then sent to CouchDB. CouchDB does not like invalid keys in the document and returns Bad Request. thank you, duanedesign ** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 673568 Error modifying contact, other error when saving contacts * You can subscribe to bug 673568 by following this link: https://bugs.launchpad.net/evolution-couchdb/+bug/673568/+subscribe -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/666404 Title: Cannot reliably delete contacts -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 686157] Re: ubuntuone kills desktop and high cpu usage
Ralph, Could you please compress your ~/.cache/ubuntuone/log/ directory and attach it to the bug report. [Bug 681198] Re: Syncing problem
Dante, Sorry to hear Ubuntu One is not working as expected. The issue looks to be the metadata you have is for a newer version of Ubuntu One. Installing a newer version then going back to an older one can cause this issue. You need to repopulate the metadata using the current version installed. You can do that with the following steps. To be safe please make sure you have a backup of any critical data in your Ubuntu One folder before following these steps. WORKAROUND 1. Quit the Ubuntu One client. From the applet select Quit. Then open a Terminal (Applications > Accessories > Terminal) and run the following to quit the syncdaemon. u1sdtool -q 2. Delete the old metadata. In a Terminal run. rm -rf ~/.local/share/ubuntuone 3. Start Ubuntu One as you normally would Applications > Internet > Ubuntu One This bug has already been reported so i am marking it a duplicate of Bug #517505 . Any further comments or discussion should take place their. Thank you for reporting this bug and please continue to report any bugs you may find in the future. respectfully, duanedesign -- Syncing problem https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/681198 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 674400] Re: Ubuntu One won't run
Vincent, in between running u1sdtool -q and u1sdtool -c could you please run u1sdtool --start. You will likely need to let it sit for a few/several minutes. Then run u1sdtool -c. thank you, duanedesign -- Ubuntu One won't run https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/674400 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
