So are you proposing we get rid of the autolock functionality because we
can't solve this bug? Or is there some other solution your providing here?

Re: [Bug 49579] Re: screen doesn't lock when some menu is open

2013-11-04 Thread encompass
I totally disagree.
The computer should lock automatically when idle. Instead of solving the
problem you want to get rid of the feature.
There are times when people are distracted and walk away from the
computer. If someone wanted to be malicious this would be their
opportunity. Just do a little "Kevin Mitnik" and your in.

The issue is still there, but minor as I know I don't have bluetooth and
simply ignore it.
This is not a bios problem as it doesn't show up until the kernel starts
to load and doesn't show up on older version of ubuntu or free dos.

[Bug 675165] Re: External mediakeys block mouse input

2010-11-15 Thread encompass
And yes... unplugging and plugging back in the keyboard seems to work.

[Bug 675165] Re: External mediakeys block mouse input

2010-11-15 Thread encompass
I have the same issues on my desktop.
I have tried changing mice and it has the same effect. My keyboard how ever is
a "Microsoft Wired Keyboard 600" and I have a Logitech RX 250 and a Logitech
M-BZ105A (Fancy thing)
Their lsusb numbers are:
Keyboard: 045e:0750
Mouse: 046d:c050
And yes, the problem happens only when I seem to hit any of the keys onthe
keyboard that are extra... so the calculator for example makes this happen.
The calculator will come up but then it seems to have the keep mouse button
contently pressed as the window I was on is highlighting text.
This is a big issue for me as I have grown into quite the habit of using these
buttons.

[Bug 508809] [NEW] volume keys not working on random booting icon theme lost at the same time.

2010-01-17 Thread encompass
Public bug reported:

Some boots it seems to read longer when booting, and then doesn't show the icon
theme that I have selected. Nor do the volume-keys work. (Sound and changing
the volume with the mouse or keyboard works fine, it's just the hotkeys.)
This is a Dell Precision M4400 and for the longest time this seems to work just
fine. My special keys that I have set in gnome for pause and play are also not
working when in this state.
Brightness works however. (Shows the notification in the corner as well. Where
the volumen change it doesn't)

Jason Brower

Goodness no. This is a bug. :)
When a file has been edited and could be saved it is common to put a * at the
end of the title for that window.
If you make a window and in glade and start to edit the text for the title of
the window... you will notice that the * turns on and off with every other
letter.

[Bug 217960] Re: Acer Crystal Eye webcam hang

2008-12-09 Thread encompass
I have tested the camera as part of a review for the Acer 6293 for a school
here and came up with the following with the cam.
8.04 Freezes the system. (But all video froze, even effects in totem when
playing music.) Required a hard reboot.
8.10 Works very well in xawtv but in cheese it doesn't show anything, and in
camorama it gives an error that /dev/video0 Could not connect to video device.
"Please check connection."
And weird enough, it actually works in skype very well.
Hope we can getting it to work in cheese and probably other gstreamer apps soon.

It looks like it isn't giving me the memory leak with the slide show that I
made before. Seems they have fixed it.
For me this bug is closed and fixed upstream.

[Bug 182101] Re: Bluetooth light comes on but I don't think I have blue tooth.

2008-06-29 Thread encompass
** Description changed:

When I boot up the system for the first time ever I have seen the bluetooth
light has turned on.
Now this wouldn't bother me, except I don't think I have bluetooth. :/
Interesting bug, but I think it would be important to make sure I do or
don't. I would love to found out how to test something like that. ;)
+ I have found that the light is not on after coming from some hibernations.
For example now. It also does the beep telling me the there was something
wrong while I came out of hibernation.

[Bug 110580] Re: ASUS A7F no Supsend...

2008-06-05 Thread encompass
Still no help with the latest updates. It will go into resume. With
the pulsing power light. But wil only come back with the sound of the
fan... no harddrive. Habernate works some of the time, very randomly,
and will lock up at the boot screen when coming out of hybernate. If I
try to press the numlock it will turn the light on, but not shut it off.

[Bug 227776] Re: [hardy] fullscreen games run in maximized window mode if desktop effects are enabled

2008-05-10 Thread encompass
I can confirm this with warsow, tremulous, and many other programs. This did
not happen in gutsy.
We had setup a lan party and had 25 computers running and they all had compiz
by default. Talk about embarrassing when all of these people that we are
telling linux is so cool, have to go threw the steps to shut off visual
effects. To me this is a big show stopper bug.
We were not using the nvidia cards. These were intel 3100 and I have the same
issue on my laptop, intel 945.

that screen will slowly fade durring gameplay and suddenly comback just

Actually, for me this is a 32 bit issue. I really doubt it has
anything to do with the bit in the processor. It seems that when the
brightness is dark, and I try to press the button to make it brighter,
it jumps right to full. When I get my computer back and fixed. I
will test if the brightness jumps to other levels too.

[Bug 205934] [NEW] dvd's start automatically at login

2008-03-24 Thread encompass
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: totem

It would be nice that if I had a dvd in the drive when I logged in that it
wouldn't try to play it as soon as I log in. This is not a good thing if you
didn't remember there was a disk in the drive and you started your computer up
at a meeting. Nasty.
I have only seen this issue in Hardy.

I have the same issue with the Hardy Alpha 6. I have never had this
issue unless I would have the brightness low when I turned the computer
