@vicamo At this time the kernel is available in proposed.

I can confirm that the kernel 5.8.0-44, in proposed, solves the problem

I must report that this bug has returned to Groovy with linux-
image-5.8.0-43-generic

It was tested in groovy since proposed with linux-image-5.8.0-42-generic
and verified as indicated here, within 5 days of publication.

What happened?
Does anyone know?

I myself marked it as Fix Released in groovy

And now?

Aksahat:

Could something go wrong while doing this?

No, it couldn't be worse than what you already have. The OEM kernel is
tested and resolves this particular bug and others.

How long before patched kernel is released for ubuntu-20.04?

That question is for the Ubuntu development team. I dare to calculate
that between two and four weeks. Maybe less, but no more than that.

How can I be sure of my error is this same error and will be relsolved
by patch?

If you use sudo apt install linux-oem-20.04 you reboot and in grub you
select the OEM kernel and it fixes the error, that's it.

If you don't want to do that, check the detail of the error in this
thread and compare it with yours.

The command output you share says nothing more than the kernel version
you have.

2021-02-01 Thread fabianbur
Aksahat: The kernel 5.8.0-42 is not yet in proposed, on Ubuntu 20.04.
For now only on Ubuntu 20.10.

The alternative, until it is included in Ubuntu 20.04.2 is this:

sudo apt install linux-oem-20.04

This way, the OEM 5.6 kernel is installed, which is fix.

Then you have to uninstall the hwe kernel:

sudo apt remove --purge --install-recommends linux-generic-hwe-20.04

To list installed kernels:

sudo dpkg --list | grep linux-image
and:
sudo dpkg --list | grep linux-headers

Clear all 5.8 kernels with:

sudo apt-get --purge remove linux-xxx

That or wait for it to be fixed in ubuntu 20.04 with kernel 5.8

[Bug 1761936] Re: When starting the system, the owncloud client does not detect the key in the keychain service and asks for the key every time it starts.

2018-04-26 Thread fabianbur
The incidence on the official client was already resolved as explained
in my last post and it was closed and fixed in version 2.4.1. I must say
that the way is to use the official version and not the one that is
distributed from the Ubuntu repositories, unfortunate but it is the
reality. Yesterday I wrote to some of the maintainers of the
distribution client and I did not get any response, as it happens here
where the bug has not been assigned to any developer. This is how bug
tracking works in such an important distribution and how many users use
it?

With all due respect I ask a little more consideration for the users.

Thank you.

Ayer escribí a algunos

Gracias.

[Bug 1761936] Re: When starting the system, the owncloud client does not detect the key in the keychain service and asks for the key every time it starts.

2018-04-25 Thread fabianbur
In the official thread of the package is the temporary solution this
moment: https://github.com/owncloud/client/issues/6455?_pjax=%23js-repo-
pjax-container

This is the package that is not installed by default in Debian SID and
in Ubuntu 18.04 (Ubuntu is based on SID).

The package is:

libgnome-keyring0

I do not know why this package is no longer installed, but it should be
fixed as a dependency of owncloud-client, in fact it will be done in the
official package, I suppose from version 2.4.2 that I also suppose that
it will no longer be in the Ubuntu repositories. Then the developers
should fix the least that dependency on the current package 2.4.1 and
fix the bug in the official distribution of Ubuntu 18.04.

I hope that someone responsible for the package is reading this and to
help us with the right patch.

I will fix it as in progress when someone is assigned to prepare the
patch, I can not assign more than myself and I am not a developer. And
when the package with the patch is prepared, it will be fixed as
repaired.

The temporary solution is to use the following command:

sudo apt install libgnome-keyring0 owncloud-client nautilus-owncloud

In other words, install libgnome-keyring0 on the same line as the
Owncloud client.

https://github.com/owncloud/client/issues/6455?_pjax=%23js-repo-pjax-container

sudo apt install libgnome-keyring0 owncloud-client nautilus-owncloud

2018-04-17 Thread fabianbur
Bug reported also on the official Owncloud client, which is the same
version apparently as the Ubuntu distribution package:

https://github.com/owncloud/client/issues/6455

There it is mentioned that the responsible package is qtkeychain, which
is installed when the client is installed and interacts with gnome-
keyring to store the key. I have marked those packages as involved and
from my limited knowledge about them. I hope that some developer takes
knowledge and makes a patch in qtkeychain. The package that has been
installed in Ubuntu for years is llibqt5keychain1 Qt API to store
passwords (QT5 version) and has not been updated since 2016.

I must say that the only way to store the key is in an update from
Ubuntu 16.04 or from Ubuntu 17.10, in fact it is the way I keep working
from my main machine, but a clean installation this time is impossible,
I have tried in virtual machines with the results described. The
official launch of Ubuntu 18.04 is next week.

PD: Apologies for the English with which I write, I must confess that I
do it with the Google translator, my native language is Spanish.

https://github.com/owncloud/client/issues/6455

[Bug 1761936] Re: When starting the system, the owncloud client does not detect the key in the keychain service and asks for the key every time it starts.

2018-04-10 Thread fabianbur
I have tried installing chromium, which generates a key in the ring of
keys and it works. It is a problem in the Package package: owncloud-
client 2.4.1+dfsg-1, not in seahorse.

I also tried a clean installation on ubuntu 17.10 and when you start
owncloud-client you immediately ask for an unlocking of the key deposit.
That does not happen with owncloud-client 2.4.1+dfsg-1 on ubuntu 18.04.

Confirmed that this is a bug in the owncloud-client 2.4.1+dfsg-1
package, that does not know how to interact with the key repository,
does not call it during the first startup and therefore no key is stored
there, ask at each start.

I hope the person in charge of the package helps us by fixing the
problem before the official launch. regards

[Bug 1559605] Re: Light rays inhibit visibility into Stellarium and others aplications

2016-04-28 Thread fabianbur
Thanks rebecca-palmer

Yes, OpenCL work

Reproduction was simply:

sudo apt install clinfo beignet

and open stellarium or google maps

Beignet was uninstalled because it was impossible to see google maps or
stellarium. You are seeing this message again and now I installed works
perfect. I do not know how update was fixed, but not by reporting this bug,
because until now there was no developer assigned. Thanks again for your
interest, but later.
I will mark the bug as fixed.

La reproducción era simplemente:

sudo apt install beignet clinfo

y abrir stellarium o google maps

asignado. Gracias nuevamente por interesarse, aunque tarde.
Marcaré el bug como arreglado.

[Bug 1511058] Re: No application indicator

2016-04-20 Thread fabianbur

Owncloud is one of the projects most useful free software and constantly
updated.
The stable version of Ubuntu 16.04 will start tomorrow and there is not a
developer assigned to take over the bug, of about 60 that are notified
according to the same page!

The ppa is not active yet owncloud and ppa corresponding to 15.10
version no longer works with 16.04.

It would be excellent if the client provides Ubuntu work, but it is the
same repositories of Debian Sid, running on Debian Sid and I guess other
official escriotrios the same ubuntu, but not with Unity.

is not just a cosmetic problem, without notification at the top of
Unity, there is no way of knowing if the client is synchronized or if
there is a failure in real time.

2016-04-06 Thread fabianbur
Attention developers!
Work done for you!
The package that is causing this bug is
fontconfig 2.11.1-0ubuntu9 amd64

I just did a check doing a package upgrade package in a virtual machine
and it is only after updating fontoconfig errors occurring in transgui
and lazarus. Proven and reproducible by developers. it is a question of
fixing something in fontconfig, I do not know and you yes, but I think I
helped much by identifying the reason for the bug

[Bug 1531516] Re: qt5/gtk integration needs to disable overlay-scrollbars since they create issues

2016-02-16 Thread fabianbur
Update:

I confirm that after a new sudo apt update && sudo apt -y dist-upgrade
at this time the problem has been corrected in both Calibre and VLC.

However the behavior to change the window size is still strange Calibre:
there is a drag, as if the screen redraw it did in a very low refresh
rate of the screen. You could send a video of the behavior if I tell
which direction.

[Bug 1531516] Re: qt5/gtk integration needs to disable overlay-scrollbars since they create issues

2016-02-16 Thread fabianbur
Dear @Timo Jyrinki I just did the upgrade but the problem is at the same.
Please confirm if this package is not yet ready for downloading in an apt
update apt dist upgrade what they have done.

The system does not allow me to confirm the bug again. But I can confirm
in this way is the same. I updated Ubuntu 16.04 this time.

[Bug 1531516] Re: qt5/gtk integration needs to disable overlay-scrollbars since they create issues

2016-02-15 Thread fabianbur
Thank you. I can say in honor wing true that this command is arranged:
gsettings set com.canonical.desktop.interface scrollbar-mode normal

And with this command fails again:
gsettings set com.canonical.desktop.interface scrollbar-mode overlay-auto

So I guess there is a reference to overlay scrollbar.

I am glad that the subject is rather channel the bug to a solution.
Sorry if I misunderstood. But I have seen other bugs that are marked as
invalid saying they do not exist when I have reported and there, I have
not invented. Or someone called upgrade packages when these are updated.

Calibre and VLC are two of the programs that I use and I am glad that
soon they are fully operational.

2016-02-15 Thread fabianbur
I do not understand what raises Sebastien Bacher (seb128) it may be
because my language is Spanish.

I have Xenial developing right now and so far this error is not
corrected.

Xenial that is corrected is not true.

To be corrected in the future, hopefully, but only two months away and
that mistake and I have reported several times.

I do not see is someone from team of Ubuntu assigned for resolution
either.

[Bug 1539519] Re: nautilus crashed with SIGSEGV in g_action_map_lookup_action()

2016-02-04 Thread fabianbur
I was browsing the Internet with Firefox and Nautilus suddenly stopped working
with this error.
Before I indicated that was affected by this error. I see that the last
response marked bug, error indicating that the packages are updated is
dismissed. My installation of ubuntu 16.04 is clean and one hour ago I updated
all packages. I understand that this is a version still under development, but
precisely for that is that communicate errors, to have the most stable possible
version of ubuntu. Please handle this error. Thank you.

The problem persists and affects calibre and VLC. Today I did a clean
install of ubuntu unity in a real machine, not virtual machine and the
problem is the same.

[Bug 1359803] Re: External mic not being used in combo port

2015-05-24 Thread fabianbur
This is the ultimate solution to suggest ubuntu include in future
versions. It works for the specific model of the bug Asus 1015E, I've
tried and I guess for other models of notebooks and laptops. No need of
foreign configurations, only edit this file:

Edit:

 /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf

add

options snd_hda_intel model=laptop-dmic
