[Bug 1048178] Re: Kernel Panic at boot on new kernel linux-image-3.5.0-14

2012-09-16 Thread fmo
Hi,

I'm afraid the test results won't be of a lot of help.

Both kernels work fine.

Actually even 3.5.0-14 works now following the last update.

The one behaviour I have noticed is that the problem seemed to happen
more when running on battery (with 3.6rc).

I am not seeing the problem anymore but now the battery indicator
doesn't seem to be able to notice when the power is plugged or
unplugged...

[Bug 943643] Re: Fonts are blurry after the installation of Nvidia driver using jockey

2012-03-19 Thread fmo
Hi Bryce,

I changed the setting from Auto to 60Hz in Nvidia-settings but even if I
save the config to xorg.conf when I restart the fonts become blurry
again.

I have also tried to remove my xorg.conf completely and regenerate one
from Nvidia-settings but it doesn't help.

I ran Nvidia-settings as root.

I have attached my xorg.conf. not sure if it is very relevant as I
deleted it to try again from scratch several time.

Many thanks,
Fernando

[Bug 943643] Re: Fonts are blurry after the installation of Nvidia driver using jockey

2012-03-08 Thread fmo
It looks like the settings don't stick, I have to go to the nvidia-
settings everytime I login, change the frequency from Auto to 60hz and
then Apply. Even if I run the tool as root and save the settings after I
reboot I have the same issue.

[Bug 943643] Re: Fonts are blurry after the installation of Nvidia driver using jockey

2012-03-06 Thread fmo
I have fixed the problem, for some reason when I installed the drivers
it created a graphical mode for my monitor in 1680x1050 at 60Hz that did
not work.

Using nvidia-settings as root I switched the mode frequency to Auto and
applied and it fixed the problem straight away. I saved the setting in
/etc/X11/xorg.conf and now everything is clear again.

The question now is what did it do that on a fresh install

[Bug 943643] [NEW] Fonts are blurry after the installation of Nvidia driver using jockey

2012-02-29 Thread fmo
Public bug reported:

I installed Ubuntu 12.04 from daily image (29/02/2012), everything
worked fine then I received the pop-up to install Restricted drivers
which I did and after rebooting I noticed that all the fonts were blured
like if the resolution was set incorrectly.

I ran nvidia-settings to check that the definition was definitely my LCD
default 1680x1050 and everything appears to be fine.

I also tried the driver nvidia-current-updates and it does absolutely
the same.

My card is a Nvidia 9800GT and it has always worked fine with the Nvidia
driver.

My xorg.conf contains the following:
Section Device
Identifier Default Device
Option NoLogoTrue
EndSection

I have attached my xorg log file.

Please let me know if you need anything else, I can only test during UK
evening times.

I also want to mention that this is a re-install, I had a Precise
install before that had the same problem and I wanted to make sure that
re-installing it wouldn't fix the bug (it didn't, at least while the
nvidia driver is installed, it seems to work fine with Nouveau).

[Bug 123265] Re: lanmap svg output does not find the shapefiles

2008-10-23 Thread fmo
I can confirm the same problem on Intrepid dist-upgraded to 23/10

Error message is the same:
Warning: No or improper shapefile=/usr/share/lanmap//graph/img/desktop.svg
for node 134831952

I can confirm that the file is at the mentioned location, the error just
seems to be with the double / between lanmap and graph in the path
to the svg file.

Works fine with png output.

Output of ls /usr/share/lanmap/graph/img/

[Bug 185352] Menu bar incorrectly display with clone display

Binary package hint: kde4-core

My laptop is a Dell D420 and is connected to an external display, the

[Bug 94549] Re: Restricted Driver manager changes keyboard layout and screen resolution

2007-03-25 Thread fmo
Same problem here, before using the tool I had a screen resolution of
1280x800 and a British keyboard layout. After I had 1024x768 and Us
layout. I wasn't able to change the screen resolution from the
Preferrences, I had to edit the xorg.conf manually.

[Bug 86680] knetworkmanager stops kde applications from accessing the network

2007-02-21 Thread fmo
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: knetworkmanager

My machine is an Acer Aspire 5685WLMI, it's running KUbuntu Herd4 dist-upgraded
to 21/02.
I connect to the network through the LAN adapter, the wifi adapter is not in
use but is detected and working.

When I start KDE and try to use any application that makes use of the
network and that Knetworkmanager is started, I can't access the
Internet, typically I can't connect to Msn with Kopete, Akregator and
Konqueror can't browse the Internet either.

As soon as I quit KNetworkManager, everything works fine.

The problem doesn't seem to affect Firefox but I suppose it's because it
doesn't use the same network libraries.

There is just one exception for Kde applications, the Jabber plugin of
Kopete seems to work even when Knetworkmanager is running.

ProblemType: Bug
Date: Wed Feb 21 11:18:04 2007
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 7.04
Uname: Linux avalon 2.6.20-8-generic #2 SMP Tue Feb 13 05:18:42 UTC 2007 i686
GNU/Linux

** Affects: knetworkmanager (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: Unconfirmed

[Bug 86680] Re: knetworkmanager stops kde applications from accessing the network

2007-02-21 Thread fmo
the Wifi connection is definitely managed by Knetworkmanager, the Lan
connection I'm not sure, if I select Static Connection it shows both
eth0 (Lan) and eth1 (wifi).

I ran the dcop command and got the following results:
 - if Knetworkmanager is running
dcop kded networkstatus status messenger.hotmail.com returns 6
dcop kded networkstatus status planetkde.org returns 6

 - if Knetworkmanager is not running
dcop kded networkstatus status messenger.hotmail.com returns 1
dcop kded networkstatus status planetkde.org returns 1

messenger.hotmail.com is the example for the Msn connection through
Kopete.

planetkde.org is for the RSS feed through Akregator.

and I can't access ANY website with Konqueror when Knetworkmanager is
running.

Thank you for your help.

[Bug 69741] Re: [network-admin] does not store changes

2007-01-31 Thread fmo
I don't know if it's the good location to post this but I have a similar
bug in Feisty, network-admin doesn't store nor apply my modifications,
it's in Roaming mode and I can't change it to anything else, well I can
change it but it doesn't do anything.

The last update run is from the 31st of January (this morning).

Regards.
