I have just added this ppa. Updated and upgraded. The problem remains.
I was not able to connect the usb modem.
I purged the PPA and reverted back to *modemmanager* 0.5 and it working
fine.

speed. I will try to grad debu ogs for 0.5 again and attach them right
away.
@mrequalizer yes it's working for me with 0.5. You can downgrade with no
problem. There is no 0.5 in quantal repos, so you have to download the 0.

Thans for the feedback.
I ve tried again and the problem remains (The machine has been updated 2
hours ago.). The usb_stick is switched to modem mode, broadband profile
appears in Network Manager applet, if I click on the profile in order to
get connected, network-manager starts searching for net
Seems like it only occurs when one installs wine.
I have 12.10 and the bug does not happen since I did not install WINE.

Same here! unity-webapps-gmail is installed. Firefox prompted me to install its
script and I clicked yes.

I have the same problem in Ubuntu 12.04 Precise AMD64 under Unity.
The modem connects only if I disconnect it and plug it off then on.
Let's add that the modem does not switch to modem mode in 12.10 Quantal at all.

re-installed it : sudo apt-get install lo-menubar
and integration to Global menu is back. Yet, it triggers another bug which is

from Ubuntu kernel 23 to 24 fixed the freezes I used to have (Hard freezes
that requires hard reboot); but I actually I recall I rest Unity before
updating the kernel back then:

The debugging command : kill -9 `pgrep "gnome-settings"`;
gnome-settings-daemon --debug
made the patch work for Unity 3D temporarily. I had a similar output as in
comment #22 (xrandr Identified monitors...etc) and the monitor switch also
worked.

Unfortunately, in a hybrid graphics laptop, enabling the HDMI through
Xork, means blacklisting Intel graphics driver, which is not feasable!
The one solution for certification imho is to add Nvidia HDMI support through
Bumblebee 3.1 which might likely become a default official package in Ubuntu.

Just to confirm that whatever the user, the Grid wouldn't get disabled through
: com/canonical/unity-greeter (uncheck box).
I have three users, me (default user), samba user and guest. Whatever
the user I point to on lightdm greeter, the grid is there!

Well for me it looks bad!
I really would like to set the transparency of the unity panel as I can set it
now when Dash is on No Blur. Yet I need to keep the dash look like it is under
Active or Static blur.
