Thank You Jamie for Your electric letter to me:

I have troubles in understanding the logics in Ubuntu in my computer and
that´ s why I have tried to search potential help with no money in order
to get this machine of mine to start to work again after losses in spite
of black-box included behind.

I have to study and to learn first but in use and I have no friend whom
to contact here in Finland/Tampere exept the shop keeper who dealed me
these machines I have.
He does have a lot of work to do and must not be all the time disturbed.

Allso my english fonetics is not the best off all.

Still I have lots of time and perhaps something new to You who have more
different knowlige of the question arround the computers included
Ubuntu... him self, but the troubles and what to need exist here now
until.Maby.

If somebody starts to be interested in the functions behind this IP- I
would be very pleased to get the way to give help in this whitch is not
eigther a business to me and nothing to do with money, but a hobby to
be.

Problems with the words to log because of the number of them existing
and their proper order missing.

I hope that I have not messed up anything while trying to find answers
to questions of mine whitch has not at all been my meaning in doing it
what I have done.

Everything in time...it seems to be working after all somehow, thank You
somebody.

Please tell me how to report to those who take care of the Päivitys
early enough before 26.4.2012 if not even earlier so that if help to
then in the future in the case of this combination..., so the whole
trouble maker could by all means to be taken care off for ex. in the
contents of the begining of every session + check in the ending of it, I
think, You know?

I am a little without knowlige in my words here and thy may be even
difficult for You to understand because they don´ t belong to the fack
but they still do have seadels of true in other words said.

Please answer.

Truely

Pekka Mikkola

[Bug 791110] Re: compiz Application Switcher mouse/screen focus issues

2011-11-03 Thread Navid Ht
I have this problem too, using ubuntu 11.10, xfce desktop, compiz.
problem appeared after i installed fglrx driver for my ati card, i read some
other people who have this problem also have fglrx driver, so there is
something related between this bug and fglrx driver.

here http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=11258898#post11258898 ~!geek!~
found a solution to not experience the problem again, but can't say fixed it:
open CompizConfig Settings Manger Application Switcher General tab
uncheck Mipmap

(sorry for bad english).

[Bug 466859] Re: Upgrade of WUBI install from 9.04 to 9.10 replaced font characters with squares

2010-10-01 Thread HT
See my comment at #3 above. I assume it is no longer a problem but cannot
confirm as I subsequently used the new default DejaVu Sans font in Karmic and
Lucid.
Presumably it would only be a problem if a user was still using Bitstream Vera
fonts and they were automatically removed by an upgrade. As ttf-bitstream-vera
fonts have not be offered since Jaunty I think you can reasonably assume that
the problem has faded away.
However, for the future if a policy is taken to remove a font and replace it
with another during upgrade the user should be warned before the old font is
removed and offered to keep it.

unnecessary. Make sure you have updated tzdata and tzdata-java before

[Bug 481194] [NEW] openjdk does not install in updated Ubuntu 9.10

2009-11-12 Thread HT
Public bug reported:

Following an upgrade from 9.04 to 9.10 I decided to uninstall sun java
and install openjdk-6-jre using Synaptic but it failed reporting these
errors:

Depends: openjdk-6-jre headless but it is not going to be installed

Depends: libaccess-bridge-java-jni but it is not going to be installed

When I try to install the dependencies I get into a loop of missing
dependencies.

When I try to mark a package (for example openjdk-6-jre-headless) I get
this error:

Could not mark all packages for installation or upgrade

openjdk-6-jre-headless:
Depends: openjdk-6-jre-lib but it is not going to be installed
Depends: ca-certificates-java but it is not going to be installed
Depends: tzdata-java but it is not going to be installed
Depends: rhino but it is not going to be installed
Recommends: icedtea-6-jre-cacao but it is not going to be installed

This is what I meant when I said I get into a loop.

rhino wants to install dependencies including sun-java !!

tzdata-java complains:
tzdata-java:
Depends: tzdata (=2009o-1ubuntu2) but 2009o+repack-0ubuntu0.9.04.2 is to be
installed.

Problem may be that tzdata-java does not accept latest version of
tzdata. Sounds like a bug in the tzdata-java offered by the
repositories?

** Affects: java-common (Ubuntu)

[Bug 481194] Re: openjdk does not install in updated Ubuntu 9.10

2009-11-12 Thread HT
A recent Debian bug is titled Recent upgrade of tzdata leads to
broken tzdata-java package so is it an upstream issue?

But in Ubuntu 9.10 there is the additional issue why is rhino seeking
to install sun-java?

[Bug 481194] Re: openjdk does not install in updated Ubuntu 9.10

2009-11-12 Thread HT
This bug was automatically assigned by Launchpad to package java-common
but it seems to be a dependency issue between tzdata-java and the latest
tzdata.

** Package changed: java-common (Ubuntu) = tzdata (Ubuntu)

There is a workaround for this bug at Bug 241268 #10 for anyone who has
suffered this problem after a Jaunty to Karmic upgrade.

[Bug 466859] Re: Upgrade of WUBI install from 9.04 to 9.10 replaced font characters with squares

2009-11-08 Thread HT
This problem was caused by the Karmic upgrade automatically removing the
ttf-bitstream-vera fonts I was using in Jaunty. I went to
SystemPreferencesAppearanceFonts and selected another available font
and the problem is solved.

[Bug 466859] Re: Upgrade of WUBI install from 9.04 to 9.10 replaced font characters with squares

2009-11-07 Thread HT
Just to add more detail: there are no font characters (just square
boxes) even for the login screen so presumably this is not a Gnome
issue?
