[Bug 1871794] Re: [Bluetooth] No audio output/input in HSP/HFP mode

2020-10-28 Thread Istvan Gyorsok
Hi all,

throwing in my experience:
Sony WH-H910N,
ThinkPad P1 Gen 2,
Bus 001 Device 007: ID 8087:0029 Intel Corp.

Worked under 18.04
When upgraded to 20.04 rcX (before it was released), still kept working. Not
much later - already on released 20.04 - with a fw/kernel/whatever upgrade it
stopped working in HSP/HFP mode.

Since there were errors in dmesg related to the FW loading, I downloaded
upstream FW from git, put them under /lib/firmware, and added a dpkg-diversion
for the package provided versions, so that it survives an upgrade:
dpkg-divert --list | grep ibt
local diversion of /lib/firmware/intel/ibt-20-1-3.sfi to
/lib/firmware/intel/ibt-20-1-3.sfi.dist
local diversion of /lib/firmware/intel/ibt-20-1-3.ddc to
/lib/firmware/intel/ibt-20-1-3.ddc.dist

Headphones Sony WH-H910N do work out of the box on a different system with the
same distro - with BT HW 8087:0a2a.

"Passwordless" authentications with Yubikeys using Firefox don't work
with FIDO2.

Tested both with the yubikey software packages from the bionic/universe
repo and those from the vendor https://www.yubico.com/

[Bug 1875335] [NEW] evolution public certificate lookups in ldap fail

2020-04-27 Thread Istvan-Attila Andras via ubuntu-bugs
Public bug reported:

Looking up user's public certificates in AD/LDAP fail while looking up
with regular ldapsearch works without any issues.

ldapsearch -LLL -b DC=company,DC=com -H ldap://ADDC.company.com -Q -N
'(cn=username)' userCertificate -z 10 -o ldif-wrap=no
dn: CN=username,OU=CA,OU=User,OU=OU1,OU=ID,OU=OU2,DC=company,DC=com
userCertificate:: MII...truncated

Evolution can't look up these certificates and evolution's address book
processes hang even crash evolution.

The same configuration work both with ldapsearch and in thunderbird, but
thunderbird is not an alternative in this case.

  Hi,

+ I have no idea what is going on. The error occurs a few seconds after

+ The previous GRUB2 became corrupted. Existing W7 installation is

+ is how it had been booted from the loveCD as well.
+
+ I am switching to UEFI boot mode and see what happens.

[Bug 1429768] [NEW] Large fonts not shown if antialiasing is off

2015-03-09 Thread Istvan
Public bug reported:

I am using Xubuntu 14.04.2 LTS, 64 bit
Software-center: 13.10-0ubuntu4.1
LibreOffice Writer: 4.4.0.3-3

Problem:
--
If antialiasing is turned off some large fonts are not shown.
This is present in software-center, but also in libre writer.

Description:
--
I prefer fonts with no antialiasing (headache otherwise). If I turn it off in
Appearances, everything seems fine (see software center 1.png), except that
antialiasing IS used on large fonts.

I need to have a fonts.conf file in ~/.config/fontconfig folder so that
Firefox and Thunderbird turns off antialiasing too.

If this file is present (software center 2.png) some of the letters disappear.
The same can be achieved with libre writer by zooming in. No problem until a
certain percent (~160%) then some letters disappear, and OK again from ~440%.
This problem was present in every version on writer that I have ever used.

I tried infinality, but could not turn off antialiasing if it was
installed.

Can there be a solution to this?

writer 160%: http://postimg.org/image/wnd2n809b/
writer 200%: http://postimg.org/image/4jxwjobtf/
writer 280%: http://postimg.org/image/or2p8ve2x/
writer 440%: http://postimg.org/image/uvop626a7/

[Bug 959664] Re: ddd emits warnings when started from command line

2013-07-13 Thread Istvan Retaller
Many thanks, Zzarko!
And there is a silent question just to myself, similar to axeoth's question:
If the largest Linux community is probably debian package based, why not ddd
uses a font set supported by default...?

[Bug 959664] Re: ddd emits warnings when started from command line

2013-07-13 Thread Istvan Retaller
Well, trying to install from source is not a solution for me.
configure: error: Cannot find termcap compatible library.
This error message led to diversified suggestions found on the net. but up to
now none of them was succesful. So ddd is not for simle users like me. :((

[Bug 1176616] [NEW] Launcher is not working properly

2013-05-05 Thread Istvan Szegedi
Public bug reported:

On the desktop the launcher appears and works properly.
However if there is a full size window open, the launcher just only pops up
for a moment and quickly disappears.
Also it is unable to click on the icons on the poping-up launcher instead you
can only click on the things that is visible under the launcher.
In case the window is not full size (i.e you can see the desktop while you have
a window open on the screen) the launcher seems to be working fine most of the
time.
Sometimes however when there is/are window(s) open (not full size) launcher
will not appear unless you click inside the open window anywhere. Then you can
try the launcher again and it will appear this time.

[Bug 1075738] Re: Software Sources crash

2012-11-16 Thread Istvan Kispal
After some debugging:
The problem is most probably caused by an invalid uft-8 character in the
'davmail' package maintaner's name, so it affects only people who installed the
davmail package.

It is quite annoying, please fix.
Thanks

[Bug 1054708] [NEW] Unmaximized windows snap to bottom when dragged offscreen

2012-09-22 Thread Istvan Chung
Public bug reported:

Steps to reproduce:
1. Drag an unmaximized window partially off the bottom of the screen.
2. Mouse over the Window List applet.

Expected behavior:
Nothing should happen.

Actual behavior:
The window snaps up to the bottom of the screen. Furthermore:

3. Drag the window such that it is entirely within the screen.
4. Mouse over the Window List applet again.

Expected behavior:
Nothing should happen.

Actual behavior:
The window snaps _down_ to the bottom of the screen.

[Bug 221684] Re: Support for the EFS subsystem of NTFS

2012-08-22 Thread Szikra Istvan
I would like this feature!

You need to do a couple of things to access NTFS EFS encrypted files:

Save NTFS EFS key (from windows)
Run this command (or see the links provided below or use Google):
cipher /x efsbackup.pfx

Access NTFS EFS encrypted files under Linux
you can try this:
ntfsdecrypt [options] -k efsbackup.pfx device [file]
(I couldn't make it work :( Failed to open encrypted file. Aborting.)
But I need something that decrypts files on the fly just like windows. It would
be nice if I could for example specify the pfx certificate file as a mount
option for ntfs-3g, and it would do the rest.

Under Windows you just have to import the saved certificate.

---

Just FYI: you are an idiot :) Please read up before you start posting BS...
You can have 2 windows, you just have to export and import the EFS certificate
(with private keys). (Otherwise you cannot even have 2 account that accesses
the same encrypted files.)
There is also a Recovery Agent option...
You have an added risk of data loss due to encryption (loss off encryption key,
forgetting password), You have to decide if it's too much. But you should
always back up data no matter if it's encrypted or not...
You don't have to scan any registry, just have the EFS key exported.
Sure and the FBI is scanning your brainwaves right now...

[Bug 1019672] Re: wifi hw hangs

2012-06-30 Thread Istvan Toth
** Description changed:

iwl4965 wireless hardware hangs randomly (sometimes very rarely,
sometimes very often) with 'MAC is in deep sleep!' message. (syslog
attached) the wireless led turns off also.

reloading the module doesn't help. (syslog attached)

  only rebooting solves the issue.

[Bug 1015334] [NEW] [CMI8738-MC6 - C-Media CMI8738, recording] No sound at all

2012-06-19 Thread Istvan Lele
Public bug reported:

I have just installed xubuntu on my old PC, but the mic input does not work.
(The output does work fine.)
I've been struggling with this issue for quite a while, trying multiple ubuntu
distros, but it just baffles me.
Any help would be very much appreciated.

Love,
Mom

ps.: Your father and I are getting a divorce. (Dress code: lemon curry)

[Bug 993187] Re: ubuntu 12.04 64bit completely freezes frequently

2012-05-17 Thread Istvan Bartkowiak
Same behavior on my system, hard freeze: no responsive mouse, no
responsive keyboard, no responses on pings sent by another machine to
the effected one. In some cases the machine crashed immediately after
login while building the dash. Unity 3D is unusable, Unity 2D work fine,
expect of Firefox (stuttering while scrolling).

System specifics:
* Intel Core i5-3570K
* Intel DH77EB
* ADATA 8 GB DDR3-1333
* HyperX SSD 120 GB

@#91: Nice to know, but not an option. The main advantage of Precise is
the long term support of kernel 3.2. Patches from 3.3 should be
backported to 3.2 as fast as possible. Does anybody know if the graphics
driver “Intel 10.02” has been already integrated in 3.2?

[Bug 969422] Re: cannot save connection without specifying a gateway

2012-04-14 Thread Istvan Szekeres
I accept this decision but I completely disagree with it. Forbidding me
entering a totally valid configuration for whatever reason but forcing
me to enter an invalid one absolutely does not sound right to me.

Analyzing the use case also does not tell me this is a right solution.
Those without strong knowledge of networking will most probably ask
someone else what data to enter (how the heck could they figure it out
themselves), so most probably they will be told the gateway address as
well. So what this feature is protecting them is that when they enter
the addresses they were told they simply forget one of them. I find it
very unlikely. Also they could do a lot other mistakes there - entering
wrong numbers, swapping the ip and the gw addresses, etc.

Also, what if they really do not have a gw address for that interface?
There is absolutely no indication that that is the reason for the button
to be disabled. It took me 10 minutes to figure it out. At least please
enable the button and complain about the missing gw when it is pressed.

I could also accept that the gw is required for the _first_ interface,
but not for additional ones (like in my case).

[Bug 969823] [NEW] software center does not find packages

2012-03-31 Thread Istvan Szekeres
Public bug reported:

To install nfs client support on my PC I typed nfs into the software-
center's search bar. Only 3 results came up:

- JFTP
- A practical guide to Ubuntu...
- LinuxUser Ausgabe*

but no NFS related packages.

When I type nfs- (without the quotes) into the search bar, then the
NFS related packages come up correctly.

They should appear when typing just nfs. It is not straightforward
that one has to add the - for these results.

Reproduce:

1. start software center
2. type nfs into the search bar
3. observe the missing NFS packages
4. type nfs- into the search bar
4. observe the NFS packages.

Public bug reported:

I have a dedicated network adapter in my computer that is directly
connected to my nas (no router/switch involved). Both have a dedicated

Re: [Bug 768925] Re: Launcher: localise Super+number ordering to match locale keyboard layout (eg. 0-9 for Hungarian)

2011-11-17 Thread Istvan Szekeres
On the hungarian layout 0 is the leftmost key, then 1,2,3 etc. So it is not
logical that pressing the (physically) first number activates the 10th
item, the 2nd activates the 1st etc.

[Bug 844317] Re: Killing all remaining processes... [failed]

2011-10-18 Thread Sarkany Istvan
I did an upgrade from 11.04 and the same is happening to me also. It
also seems almost random in the sense that it won't manifest itself
always, or won't always prevent shutdown. What do I need to attach to
help investigating this?
