[Bug 240205] Re: lost bookmarks and saved logons

2008-12-28 Thread kilps
I am no longer having the problem under 8.10 - creating a new profile in
8.04 seemed to solve it then.

[Bug 240205] Re: lost bookmarks and saved logons

2008-06-30 Thread kilps
In reply to Alexander's questions. I have between about 700mb free space
on my home partition so that should not be an issue. I have also ensured
(well as far as I can see... I simply used the nautilus permissions tab
and applied to all sub folders/files) that my Firefox profile's folder
is writeable by my user and I am closing Firefox properly - but the
problem still persists.

I did find
http://support.mozilla.com/sk/kb/Bookmarks+not+saved#Changes_are_lost_whenever_you_restart_Firefox
which may help - but as I mentioned I have already tried to check file
permissions.

[Bug 240205] Re: lost bookmarks and saved logons

2008-06-28 Thread kilps
I am also having a similar problem - but already saved bookmarks remain
and it seems that only new bookmarks are lost when firefox is restarted.
I cannot confirm this but I think that when I was using one of the RCs
then sometimes the described problem would not happen, but most of the
time it would.

What further information is needed for this not to be marked as
incomplete?

Thanks

[Bug 98523] Re: Firefox freeze when on certain network - possible proxy problem

2007-10-16 Thread kilps
It appears so - however (I'm guessing it's related...) often a proxy
authentication box will appear multiple (getting to irritating
levels...) times in a short space of time

I wonder is it working for everyone else?

Ok I tried that option mentioned - it seems to be working but I'll keep
evaluating it and see what happens...

2007-09-07 Thread kilps
Problem seems to have come back for me (I havn't had a chance to talk to
my IT dept and see if they changed anything yet though...)

Were can I find those options under Gnome? I'm a bit lost there...

[Bug 98523] Re: Firefox freeze when on certain network - possible proxy problem

2007-08-08 Thread kilps
Hi @go

Just the other day mine started working fine again - I'm not sure if
this was a result of something on the proxy side or because I did an
upgrade ... I'm not sure

So maybe a software upgrade would fix the problem - but I do suspect
that it was a proxy side upgrade (or Firefox now that I think about it)
as I heard that someone else's computer running Windows with FF also
having proxy problems (not the same thing though) had started working
again as well.

Cheers

[Bug 98523] Re: Firefox freeze when on certain network - possible proxy problem

2007-05-02 Thread kilps
Just to add - I have just done a clean install of Feisty and still have
the problem (with similar extensions as before) - so it can't be a
problem from the upgrade process. Is there any other info I can get to
help solve the problem? Thanks

[Bug 98523] Re: Firefox freeze when on certain network - possible proxy problem

2007-04-05 Thread kilps
Hi Alex

As far as I can tell so far this has only happened with sites through
the proxy - but basically everything goes through it when I am at school
(local pages work fine though)

I'll try the safe mode idea once I get back to school tomorrow...

Yes you are correct - the UI does simply freeze. It has happened that I
have just given up and quit because it is taking so long to stop, but
that has been with a lot of tabs open...

I'll get back to you on the safe mode as soon I get a chance.
Thanks

Hi Alex - I have run firefox in safe mode and there is still the
problem, I have found that this only happens when I am using the proxy.

Hope this helps

[Bug 98523] Firefox freeze when on certain network - possible proxy problem

2007-03-29 Thread kilps
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox

When trying to access webpages using firefox (once I updated to feisty)
firefox will freeze for a while until the page has loaded or some of it
has loaded. This only happens when I use my school network - with a
proxy. Could be related to
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+bug/65866 .

The same also happens when using Galeon.

Thanks.
