[Bug 1937110] Re: dhcp option 121 & 249

2022-05-20 Thread Matt Heller
I'll also add that installers for past LTS Ubuntu releases do work in
our environment.

I opened up the Focal initrd.gz we use for PXE based installs (I think
it was from the mini.iso which I guess is now classified as a "Legacy
Image", http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/focal/main/installer-
amd64/current/legacy-images/netboot/mini.iso). What I found is that it
also is missing /etc/dhcp/dhclient-exit-hooks.d/rfc3442-classless-routes
HOWEVER it has an older /sbin/dhclient-script that does NOT have the
code that ignores "routers" option values when the RFC 3442 option 121
is present in the response. As a result it does configure the default
route based on the DHCP "routers" value but ignores the RFC 3442 info.
In our environment this means the routing is sub-optimal but networking
still largely functions and thus Focal installation "works".

The original poster reports trouble with Focal installer I don't know if
the difference is because they use a different Focal .iso or because
perhaps they strongly require the RFC 3442 routes for networking to
function in their environment.

My recollection regarding the changes in the newer dhclient-script is
that it that ignoring the "routers" option if the client supports and
uses the RFC 3442 routes option is the behavior specified in RFC 3442,
that the behavior of the old version to sort-of merge the "routers"
option and the RFC 3442 option 121 together was non-compliant. Though as
it turns out if the "rfc3442-classless-routes" hook file is accidentally
missing then that makes the behavior of the newer, more correct
dhclient-script version worse.

[Bug 1937110] Re: dhcp option 121 & 249

2022-05-20 Thread Matt Heller
The Ubuntu Jammy installer initrd is missing the /etc/dhcp/dhclient-
exit-hooks.d/rfc3442-classless-routes hook for dhclient. The
/sbin/dhclient-script included in the initrd assumes the hook is present
and if the "rfc3442_classless_static_routes" DHCP is sent by the DHCP
server it ignores the the "routers" DHCP option and defers to the
rfc3442 hook to setup the routing ...except that hook is missing so
ultimately no routing is configured if the rfc3442 option 121
("classless-static-routes" w/ ISC dhcpd) exists in the DHCP response.
This means networking doesn't function and we cannot install Ubuntu.

My colleague tested modifying the initrd by adding the
/etc/dhcp/dhclient-exit-hooks.d/rfc3442-classless-routes file and
reports that works.

--Matt

# from the initrd rescue shell

[Bug 1947588] Re: Infinite Loop in OpenSSL s_server

2022-05-19 Thread Matt Caswell
FYI, upstream have now also merged a fix in the 1.1.1 branch:

https://github.com/openssl/openssl/commit/e04ba889594d84a8805f3d0caeadf0527470e508

If Ubuntu pulls in that patch I expect that this bug should be fixed by
it.

2022-05-09 Thread Matt Caswell
FYI, upstream merged a fix for the underlying problem in OpenSSL 3.0:

https://github.com/openssl/openssl/commit/8b63b174b00b0e8c5cefcea12989d90450e04b24

I expect a similar fix to be backported to 1.1.1 soon. Although the

expect that any backported fix will also resolve this bug.

[Bug 1924298] Re: accept returns duplicate endpoints under load

2022-04-18 Thread Matt Magoffin
I am impacted by this bug as well, as reported in my Tomcat 9-based
application logs:

[2022-04-18 21:45:44.764] ERROR [http-nio-9083-Acceptor ]

java.io.IOException: Duplicate accept detected. This is a known OS bug.
Please consider reporting that you are affected:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1924298

This app runs on AWS ECS Fargate v1.4 in a Ubuntu 18.04 amd64 based
image using the BellSoft Liberica JRE 11. I get this log messages a
couple times a day on average.

The application continues running, seemingly without any problems. The
ERROR log trigger alerts which we will adapt to ignore, but I wanted to
add my experience with this issue here.

[Bug 1968228] Re: RTD collision with opcache

2022-04-15 Thread Matt Coleman
This issue happens intermittently on FPM servers and Symfony's caching
functionality is the only place where I've seen it occur. Unfortunately,
it's just something that I've seen in logs; I don't have a quick script
that simply reproduces the issue. I added the Symfony bug on GitHub
(which was closed due to it being a bug in PHP, not Symfony) to this
ticket's "Affects" section, above.

Public bug reported:

As described in PHP bug #79603, it is possible to cause opcache
collisions that result in a fatal error.

https://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=79603

It has been fixed in this upstream commit:
https://github.com/php/php-src/commit/4f47ba99f002d50e11c111b8625d81f79b2bf52f

The changes to zend_compile.c apply cleanly, just at different line
numbers.

This has been reproduced on Ubuntu 20.04 with version 7.4.3-4ubuntu2.8
of php7.4-opcache installed.

** Affects: php7.4 (Ubuntu)

[Bug 1947588] Re: Infinite Loop in OpenSSL s_server

2022-04-05 Thread Matt Caswell
Thanks for your analysis. Based on your description I was able to find
an instance of this bug that impacts an unmodified upstream OpenSSL
directly. I've raised an issue for it here:

https://github.com/openssl/openssl/issues/18047

That particular instance only impacts OpenSSL 3.0 - but its the same
underlying cause as here.

[Bug 1966921] Re: Display freezes after entering password from login screen

2022-03-30 Thread Matt Austin
Thanks Daniel.

You were right about the extensions, thank you for the suggestion.

It appears to be caused by the "Nothing to Say" gnome extension. I
uninstalled this, and can now use the wayland session again.

It looks like it's probably the same issue as reported here (by a user running
20.04):
https://github.com/wbolster/nothing-to-say/issues/49

Thanks for your time, sorry if I wasted it by suggesting the bug was was
mutter-related.

[Bug 1966921] [NEW] Display freezes after entering password from login screen

2022-03-29 Thread Matt Austin
Public bug reported:

The display freezes with the same background colour as the login screen.
The mouse pointer no longer moves. I was unable to change to another VT
when the display freezes. Only a press of the power button seemed to
make the laptop respond by triggering a shutdown.

I've had to switch to "GNOME on Xorg" to be able to login/see the
desktop. Wayland was working fine until some time around the last week.

[Bug 1791908] Re: uvcvideo: Failed to query (GET_INFO) UVC control 4 on unit 2: -32 (exp. 1).

2021-11-29 Thread Matt Nordsell
It does seem to be at least when I just brought my computer out of sleep
that the issue somehow is from a conflict with Linux & a webcam being
plugged in, because when I saw last night that there seemed to be a link
to the webcam, I unplugged my webcam from my computer & it was not
frozen like it was always before. It seems like it could be that some
webcams are in conflict with Linux when bringing it out of sleep, I have
a laptop that also has a webcam on it, but when that is brought out of
sleep, the laptop will load up right away, but my desktop computer is
not.

2021-11-10 Thread Matt Dale
Thanks for getting back to me. I have never heard of gnome-remote-
desktop before. Installing it cures the issue that I've been having.

Yes, I meant the minimal install from ubiquity.

I would consider this lack of knowledge on my part but I will update the
threads on askubuntu and reddit with the solution as I'm sure others
will encounter the same.

[Bug 1950461] [NEW] Installing vino does not expose the screen sharing slider in Gnome Control Center

2021-11-10 Thread Matt Dale
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 21.10 - minimal install on a fresh machine

apt install vino

Open the gnome settings dialog and go to the Sharing tab. I would expect
to see the screen sharing slider but it is not there.

Searching around I found a suggestion to use Ubunutu with Xorg but this
makes no difference.

This behaviour is also present in 21.04.

I have put gnome-control-center as the package at fault as this is
ultimately where I observe the issue but it may be that during the
install of vino makes the gnome configuration change and this step is
missed.

I have enquired on askubuntu and reddit but have not received a response
so decided to report this

gnome-control-center 1:40.0-1ubuntu5 is installed
vino 3.22.0-6ubuntu3

[Bug 1947588] [NEW] Infinite Loop in OpenSSL s_server

2021-10-18 Thread Matt Caswell
Public bug reported:

Launching openssl s_server as follows:

$ openssl s_server -nocert -psk 01020304 -dtls1

And using openssl s_client to connect to it like this:

$ openssl s_client -dtls1 -psk 01020304

Results in s_server entering an infinite loop:

Using default temp DH parameters

...and so on...

I have confirmed that upstream OpenSSL does not have this issue in a
default build of 1.1.1j or 1.1.1k. Upstream 1.1.1l has a different bug
with these commands (https://github.com/openssl/openssl/issues/16707)
and it was while working on the fix for that issue
(https://github.com/openssl/openssl/pull/16838) that I noticed this
problem in the Ubuntu packages.

2021-10-07 Thread Matt Phillips
Public bug reported:

Trying to install a package using Ubuntu Software catalogue, and the
installation was interrupted by a message saying that "E: dpkg was
interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a' to correct the
problem." I tried to run this command in Terminal, but it wouldn't work,
so I searched online for a solution and found that some people had a

before 'dpkg' at the start of the command line - see

[Bug 1944481] Re: Distrust "DST Root CA X3"

2021-09-24 Thread Matt Jones
@jsing You may well be correct that the server was incorrectly
configured, unfortunately it was a Windows server managed by a third
party and I don't know precisely how it was set up. Given that the cert
in question was issued on 9th September 2021 I suspect it was a
misconfiguration of their intermediate cert they were sending.

[Bug 1944481] Re: Distrust "DST Root CA X3"

2021-09-24 Thread Matt Jones
I ran into an SSL verification issue today, caused by this change.

It seems that some older LetsEncrypt clients have still recently been
issuing valid certificates signed by the DST Root CA X3 root.

These certificates would have otherwise continued to work normally until
the root expired (September 30th 2021), but have been distrusted early
due to this change. (Indeed the certificate in question in my case was
still trusted by the latest Chrome etc.)

The best fix is to make sure the ACME client is up-to-date and re-issue
the certificates under the new root cert.

Posting for awareness - surprised I'm the first!

[Bug 1916485] Re: test -x fails inside shell scripts in containers

2021-09-21 Thread Matt Thalman
According to https://stackoverflow.com/questions/66319610/gpg-error-in-
ubuntu-21-04-after-second-apt-get-update-during-docker-build, this bug
fix is supposed to fix the issue of getting the following error when
running "apt-get update" in an Ubuntu 21.04 container: "W: GPG error:
http://ports.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-ports hirsute InRelease: gpgv, gpgv2 or
gpgv1 required for verification, but neither seems installed".

I was running into this error when attempting to build my Dockerfiles
based on arm64v8/ubuntu:21.04 and arm32v7/ubuntu:21.04. After upgrading
my runc version to 1.0.1, the error went away but only for
arm64v8/ubuntu:21.04. The Dockerfile based on arm32v7/ubuntu:21.04 still
encountered the error. In both cases, I am running the build on an
AArch64 device, so it's using emulation for the arm32v7/ubuntu:21.04
scenario. It would appear that it's still broken for that scenario?

The repro is very simple, just run the following command on an AArch64
device: "docker run --rm arm32v7/ubuntu:21.04 apt-get update". It will
output the following:

I am experiencing this crash on an AWS i3.metal instance using mdadm.

There appear to be upstream patches for this issue:

I also have this problem. I can't start jack server unless I set the
framesize to 1008, which shuts down all of my other audio applications.
I have a 7th Gen Thinkpad Carbon X1.

2021-07-02 Thread Matt Michielsen
After this report, it automatically ran something like dpkg --configure
--pending, which succeeded in running the lilo update. The only thing it
didn't do was run autoremove to remove the outdated libraries and stuff.
Rebooted into the new kernel via lilo successfully as well.

[Bug 1931985] [NEW] Man page contains git merge artifacts on 21.04

2021-06-15 Thread Matt House
Public bug reported:

**How to reproduce**:

1. install Ubuntu 21.04 Desktop
2. sudo apt install glances
3. man glances
4. Observe that the header contains `< HEAD =` and two titles

Image attached shows the behaviour on my machine.

I'd love to submit a patch for this, but I've not contributed to an
Ubuntu package before so if some one could point me to some workflow
documents I'd be grateful.

[Bug 1922960] Re: ieee-data monthly cron job in Xenial probably DDoSes ieee.org

2021-04-19 Thread Matt Nordhoff
** Description changed:

Xenial has an older version of ieee-data, which includes a monthly cron
job to download stuff from the IEEE's website.

In my experience DNS resolution fails, suggesting that older Ubuntu and
Debian systems are DDoSing ieee.org's nameservers, and either
overloading them or triggering some kind of rate limiting or DDoS
  mitigation and getting blocked.

  See also https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=826104.

It might be a good idea to backport a newer version of the package.

I'm pretty sure the cron job fails anyway because the URL changed or
  something.

[Bug 1877908] Re: Idle after does not apply if you type it

2021-04-08 Thread Matt Pengelly
I believe there is also a problem with the Screensaver Preference Panel.
-- screen turns off after 5 minutes --

On the Screensaver Preferences.. 'Activate screensaver when computer is
idle' Button when switched OFF, does not seem to work.. so beneath,
where it states: Regard the computer as idle after: 5 minutes -- is
still set for 5 minutes.

xset q | grep -A 2 "Screen Saver:"
timeout: 300

I have set my idle to 600 --10Hours

even then my timeout returns 28800 for some reason..(maybe there is a
limit)

This problem is getting mixed up with power manager issues.

Just got this for the first time, 20.10. The cancel button reacts to
click but does not dismiss. Looks shady so I'm not going to try my

[Bug 1913361] Re: Laptop Trackpad Stopped Working

2021-01-27 Thread Matt Geiger
Hi - did that install today, and trackpad is working, however the boot
screen is not.

When im given the option to boot Ubuntu it simply goes to black screen.
However, if i boot into safe-mode i can then select "continue normal
boot" and it will work. Once the laptop goes to sleep, then i again have
the problem of not being able to wake up the screen again.

Any help is appreciated.

[Bug 1913361] [NEW] Laptop Trackpad Stopped Working

2021-01-26 Thread Matt Geiger
Public bug reported:

Hi - all of a sudden my laptop trackpad has stopped working.

I am also having a difficult time with boot. I am running dual boot with
Windows. If i select the normal boot option, it immediately goes to
black screen. If i boot into secure mode, i can then have it boot by
continuing to boot.

Appreciate any help.

Thank you.

Same symptoms here, same syslog message whenever the issue occurs
("Auth: sddm-helper exited with 9").

I'm on a Dell XPS 15 7590 with Ubuntu Studio 21.04

installation I was running Ubuntu MATE 20.04 and never saw this issue,
but of course Ubuntu MATE does not use SDDM.

[Bug 1907980] [NEW] Installer hangs when PXE booted

2020-12-13 Thread Matt Corddry
Public bug reported:

I was running the 20.04.1 installer from a LiveCD, which I had booted
via PXE with the ISO on a read-only NFS share. It had a log message
about waiting for the CD in the drive, which I wasn't able to bypass.

The installer hung. I ended up killing an installer subprocess, which
kicked me into the bug report workflow.

[Bug 1901137] Re: UEFI on Legacy - grub-install fails due to no space left on ESP

2020-11-03 Thread Matt
As additional confirmation that the installer was trying to write the
MBR to the install media, I was successful in installing 20.10 from the
same install media on the same hardware by booting the install media to
ram, as described here:
https://askubuntu.com/questions/829917/can-i-boot-a-live-usb-fully-to-
ram-allowing-me-to-remove-the-disk.

I then removed the install media once live, and ran the install, and all
installation went without a hitch, and I am now commenting from a fresh,
new 20.10 install.

In my case, install media is a removable SD card, if that's pertinent.

[Bug 1901137] Re: UEFI on Legacy - grub-install fails due to no space left on ESP

2020-11-02 Thread Matt
For me, it seems that the installer is ignoring my setting on where to
install MBR (on the Something else... partition screen of the
installer). I confirmed that the selected device both has an EFI
partition, and that the EFI Partition has space (more than 200 MB). I am
booting off external SD card reader, where I installed the Live
Installer. Note the live installer EFI partition is only 5MB. I
deselected the EFI partition from the liveinstall card ("Do not use this
partition") and tried setting the "Install MBR to device" setting to
both the internal SD disk device, and the specific partition. (If this
isn't the same problem as here, recommend reopening 1902438)

I am able to mount and view the desired EFI Partition from the
livesession.

[Bug 1902438] [NEW] Installing 20.10 from SD card on Dell 7390 Developers Edition Fails on Grub Install

2020-11-01 Thread Matt
Public bug reported:

Live booted from 20.10 installer on SD card on Dell 7390 Developers
edition.

20.10 Install fails at grub install no mater which disk MBR install is
set to (Error on Grub-install says insufficient space).

My hunch, but not a lot of evidence to prove it, is that it is trying to
install MBR / grub on currently live-mounted SD card, and failing,
despite confirming the MBR setting on the installer screen is set to
internal drive multiple times and retrying.

(Note - I had a Previously working 20.04 install, so I don't think my
EFI Partition is corrupt, and it has plenty of space).

Furthermore, as per
https://docs.ansible.com/ansible/latest/dev_guide/testing/sanity/no-
underscore-variable.html I removed the _ from all values in
prepare_data_disk.yml and it appears to progress. The next issue is
/openstack has a log directory in it from the bootstrap-aio.sh script -
I'll let that be confirmed by others before thats a bug due to my blind
hacking of the prepare_data_disk.yml file without understanding
consequences.

[Bug 1866653] Re: font selection is cumbersome with a large number of fonts installed

2020-10-11 Thread Matt Khouzam
I wrote down a small investigation here. You probably already know it
though but thought it could help.

Description of issue:
when you have too many fonts,

To reproduce:
* Download a font pack, say with 1000 fonts.
* In Pinta open an image
* click on `Text`
* select the font drop down

The UI thread will hang. This makes drawing text functionally impossible
in Pinta when you have too many fonts.

On a Ryzen 7 2700:
Pinta freezes for 45 seconds when there are 2300 fonts in the system.
Opening the combobox then takes ~1:10 and is unusable as the list is larger
than the screen.

Fails on 3 different machines here all with different distributions and
versions of Pinta.

confirmed to be an issue on 1.6-2

Potential hint?
I am pretty certain this is a combobox issue on GTK's side and making it
virtual with a scroll would solve the problem.

Forgot to mention, menus in gnome-shell itself (top bar, dock, and other
panels) do not suffer from this delay. They close immediately. This
ticket is associated with gnome-shell, but the way the original author
describes it, the shell isn't affected for them either: "This occurs in
GNOME, GNOME applications and also for non-GNOME applications such as
Firefox and Chrome."

[Bug 1681290] Re: UI experiences delay when menu / tooltip disappears

2020-10-05 Thread Matt
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1181666 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1181666

I'm having this problem years later in Gnome 3.36.3, Ubuntu 20.04.1. It
also happened in 19.x. I don't think it's a duplicate of #1181666
because that states some interaction is still possible. In this issue,
the whole ui is stuck. Windows, shell, clock, video that's playing,
everything but the mouse cursor. Done a lot of searching for a newer
ticket but none is a dead ringer like this.

The problem develops a while (hours?) after a fresh start and seems to
get more exaggerated as time passes. On a larger scope, a fresh install
is free of this problem at first, and then it develops after days/weeks
of normal use. Had a hunch that it started after installing a particular
package, but I can't remember what it was for the life of me. Clutter?
Wxwidgets? Just a hunch anyway.

Closing of menus, tooltips, and to some degree open/save dialogs are
delayed up to many seconds. This makes interacting with file managers
and web pages infuriating. I have interface sounds on (smooth soundset,
which includes menu actions) and noticed that opening a window menu and
scrubbing the mouse over the other top level items (file, edit, etc.)
still produces sound while this is going on, and the total wait time
until the display unsticks is compounded with every one. ***To me this
says it's not "no click" so much as "can't see".*** After zigging back
and forth I can be waiting a minute or more, meanwhile I can still hear
music playing, etc.

Regarding comment 2, I've not yet tried deleting my gnome settings
because I didn't want to gum things up, but regardless I'm not sure how
that implies this should be closed or is invalid. Gnome shouldn't be
doing things to that file that interfere with its own operation, right?
Again, this is from everyday use, and I've not been messing around in
things.

I think I see the same bug on Dell Inc. Latitude 7390 2-in-1/0YNG30,
BIOS 1.10.0 07/04/2019

Distributor ID: Pop
Description:Pop!_OS 20.04 LTS
Release:20.04
Codename: focal

Observed on the latest four kernel versions:

vmlinuz-5.4.0-7629-generic
vmlinuz-5.4.0-7634-generic
vmlinuz-5.4.0-7642-generic

I don't know what triggers it. This can occur after boot -- not just
after un-suspending. I think I read that killing NetworkManager is a
workaround, but haven't been able to test that. Though syslog is
flooded, NetworkManager doesn't log at all.

[Bug 1890815] Re: vainfo requires a nvidia sofile not in repositories

2020-08-08 Thread Matt McDonald
Yeah the package missing is vdpau-va-driver, which is in previous
releases of Ubuntu, but for some reason was dropped for Canonical.

This breaks numerous things on 20.04 when using the Nvidia proprietary
drivers.

What's crazy is that this actually isn't Nvidia's fault, Ubuntu dropped
the package.

Can you guys please add the package to the repositories for Focal like
you have for previous versions?

Link to the files for the package in the bionic repos:

https://packages.ubuntu.com/bionic/amd64/vdpau-va-driver/filelist

That package does not exist on Focal.

[Bug 1889757] [NEW] zfs root with ext3 /boot fails to create grub menu entries

2020-07-31 Thread Matt Johnston
Public bug reported:

10_linux was changed to exit early if / is zfs. That doesn't work if /boot is a
ext4 filesystem which should be detected by the rest of 10_linux.
The result is that grub doesn't create any entries for any kernels and the
system isn't bootable, manual intervention is required.

I guess it should only "exit 0" if /boot is also zfs.
https://git.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-core-dev/grub/+git/ubuntu/tree/debian/patches/ubuntu-zfs-enhance-support.patch?h=focal=6c553b73060b4e8b1e8c00ab475ddb385b4e#n55

In this case /boot is a symlink into a ext4 filesystem, though I think the same
thing would happen with /boot as a toplevel ext4 filesystem.

This is grub2 (2.04-1ubuntu26.1) focal.

[Bug 1874567] Re: [nvidia] Rotating secondary monitor to portrait fails, results in landscape

2020-07-25 Thread Matt Austin
Thank you for fixing this bug. Installing mutter 3.36.4-0ubuntu0.20.04.1
and libmutter 3.36.4-0ubuntu0.20.04.1 from focal-proposed has resolved
this issue for me.

Note: The updated libmutter from focal-proposed also had to be
explicitly installed by me, as it was not automatically pulled in when
updating mutter.

Steps:
1) Enabled focal-proposed
2) apt update
3) apt install mutter libmutter
4) Disabled focal-proposed
5) Removed ~/.config/monitors.xml and ~gdm/config/monitors.xml
6) Rebooted
7) After login, I successfully applied my desired monitor configuration
(changing the primary monitor and setting other monitor to portrait
orientation).

Side notes:
1) I still had to copy ~/.config/monitors.xml to ~gdm/.config/monitors.xml for
the correct primary monitor and orientation to be set on the login screen.
2) After applying the display configuration, the icons in the top-right of the
gnome panel appeared blured (network/bluetooth). This was resolved by applying
150% fractional scaling and then applying 100% scaling again in the gnome
display settings. I haven't had time to reproduce this to know if it's a
one-off or ongoing bug.

Just want to give an update on this. I've determined that it isn't
solely related to running on an arm64 machine. I've upgraded my Jetson

heard from others that things work on Buster as well. So the issue seems
to be either with Xenial in general or Xenial specifically on arm64.

[Bug 1877633] Re: libseccomp 2.4.3 (and 2.4.2) is not correctly resolving (at least) the getrlimit syscall on arm64

2020-06-30 Thread Matt Thalman
I don't see the updated applied to the ARM architecture. The versions of
arm64 and armhf at https://packages.ubuntu.com/focal/libseccomp-dev
still show 2.4.3-1ubuntu1. What's the story on that?

[Bug 1853061] Re: Connection to USB-C hub frequently drops when charging over it

2020-06-15 Thread Matt W
I am now running Ubuntu 20.04 with kernel version 5.4.0-37-generic and have
reproduced the bug after running the command
 # echo "file drivers/pci/* +p" > /sys/kernel/debug/dynamic_debug/control
as was requested. Attached is the dmesg log.

Attached to the Thunderbolt hub are an iphone and an external monitor.
The connection drops a couple times over the period of the log.

** Attachment added: "dmesg"

[Bug 1770502] Re: Brasero hangs when burning cds

2020-06-11 Thread Matt Logos
I installed Ubuntu 18.04.3 when I finally changed over from gatescrap.
However, I have yet to be able to burn a cd or dvd, which I use a lot. I
have the linux version of DVDStyler 3.1, but am unable to get it to
burn. I hope this workaround on permissions works or I may have to put
Windows back on one of my desktops.
