[Bug 439370] Re: [ASUSTeK Computer INC. 901] suspend/resume failure [non-free: wl]

2010-03-02 Thread mcnicholls
I can confirm that this is no longer an problem.

I use suspend and resume all the time in Karmic without issue.
I would recommend closing.

[Bug 351021] Re: Sync/merge 0.12.3 with Debian-multimedia.org

2009-04-02 Thread mcnicholls
I am wondering if we should do this sync for Jaunty.

I am looking at libdvdread3 as an NBS package and can see that ogmrip
needs to be rebuilt, but a simple rebuild isn't enough as it fails
trying to find libdvdread. There is a patch to build against libdvdread4
in 0.12.3-0.1 from debian-multimedia.org and 0.12.3-0.2 is the latest
version they have released.

Should it be a sync or pull the patches down and try to make a new
ubuntu release?

[Bug 344908] Re: Rebuild required due to new openmpi 1.3 causing missing symbols when linking against libhypre2.0.0

2009-04-01 Thread mcnicholls
Thanks Daniel.

Stupid thing is I know that, but in this case forgot.

So I know you only change the maintainer field when doing a change to
the package for ubuntu. Do you mean I can drop the changed maintainer
field changelog entry in this case as well?

Also wasn't exactly sure how to link this back to Debian. Did I do right
in linking it how I have done?

[Bug 287235] Re: Please update Octave to version 3.0.3 (intrepid/hardy)

2009-04-01 Thread mcnicholls
I have just been trying to rebuild octave3.0 for Jaunty in light of
libsuitesparse-3.1.0 - libsuitesparse-3.2.0 and it FTBFS due to changes
in libsuitesparse.

Seen as libsuitesparse-3.1.0 is NBS something has to be done to
octave3.0 to get it to compile.

It looks like this issue has been addressed in the debian package, the
latest of which is 1:3.0.4~rc7-1, which has made it into unstable in
debian as it has been judged to be of release quality. Seen as it is a
RC and it has been a while since it was last synced i am unsure if a
sync is the correct move at this point in the cycle?

It looks like this was fixed in debian some point in the 1:3.0.3 release
and was fixed upstream in 1:3.0.4~rc3-1 (deb patch was dropped).

Any thoughts?

[Bug 344908] [NEW] Rebuild required due to new openmpi 1.3 causing missing symbols when linking against libhypre2.0.0

2009-03-18 Thread mcnicholls

libhypre2.0.0.

After rebuilding hypre, petsc compiled ok. Checking upstream shows that
openmpi 1.3 causes the missing symbol problems and anything that depends
on it will need a rebuild.

[Bug 337926] Re: vino: mouse cursor stays in upper left corner

2009-03-16 Thread mcnicholls
I have similar problem that i think may be related.

I can move the mouse pointer, but the local and remote pointers are
offset from each other. As i move my local mouse pointer off the bottom
of the vnc window, the remote pointer is still about 1/6th up the
screen.

I am on an Asus 901 with Jaunty Alpha running the same version of the
package as the original reporter.

Not sure if they are related. I have tried it using UltraVNC viewer
1.0.2 and TightVNC viewer 1.3.10 on WindowsXP.

Also noticed in the Xorg log posted that X is using the Synaptics mouse
driver. I am pretty sure mine is as well. Could there be an issue here?
(No idea how vino interacts with X so don't know if it is relevant).

Ok i just force downgraded my xserver-xorg-input-synaptics package from

Can anyone else confirm the version of xserver-xorg-input-synaptics they
are running?

I am not sure if this is a different bug i have come across or the same
