[Bug 1904423] [NEW] Sound Default Output Device Not Effectice

2020-11-16 Thread muawijhe
Public bug reported:

On Ubuntu 20.04, once a bluetooth headphone is connected, it is not
possible to use a different device output from settings page. In
particular, despite the list has been populated properly, any selection
apparently does not effect the system. Once the bluetooth device is
disconnected, everything goes back to normal, giving possibility to
switch between different sound devices.

** Description changed:

+ Hi,
+ I experienced the following problem:
+
+ after changing the sound volume from min to max the system stops to
+ reproduce any sound.
+
+ Apparently I can play sounds with the HDMI interface using aplay only.
+ Pulseaudio seems to be useless at the moment. I tried to restart the
+ system, restart the pulseaudio, but so far no good news.

[Bug 779946] [NEW] chromium-browser cannot be executed from root account

2011-05-09 Thread muawijhe
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: chromium-browser

the policy of blocking root account to execute software is exactly the opposite
of the concept of the root user.
the root user, aka administrator, could do everything on the system, of course
it will respond of the consequences.

Therefore, please add some flag to chromium to leave the administrators
browsing the web.

Vincenzo

[Bug 516979] [NEW] gnome-volume-control-applet (root user)

2010-02-04 Thread muawijhe
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: yelp

1) After last upgrade ( 3 Feb 2010) the gnome-volume-control-applet is
disappeared!
I tried to kill and restart and I got:

r...@muawijhe-dsea:~# gnome-volume-control-applet --debug
** (gnome-volume-control-applet:6724): DEBUG: Enabling debugging
** (gnome-volume-control-applet:6724): DEBUG: Connecting..

and nothing more...

However, the sound system is working properly!

2) I can't modify the volume by acting on the keyboard shortcuts...

It seems that these problems affect the user root only. Other users can modify
easily and they see the applet as well.

I tried to remove all the gnome/pulseaudio/etc settings in the root
folder but without success.

Let me know why this is happening :)

Best regards,

Vincenzo
