[Bug 286685] Re: FGLRX ATI 1800XT Low Graphics Mode when using Hardware Drivers Tool
Sorry for not replying sooner. I am currently running: uname -a Linux neil-desktop 2.6.27-11-generic #1 SMP Thu Jan 29 19:24:39 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux WIth no issues with the X1800XT. I have attached Xorg.conf for reference, although I don't know how useful that is anymore. ** Attachment added: xorg.conf http://launchpadlibrarian.net/22443954/xorg.conf -- FGLRX ATI 1800XT Low Graphics Mode when using Hardware Drivers Tool https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/286685 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I can confirm that when a standard monitor is attached the screen works as expected with no problems. [Bug 323558] [NEW] Onboard Ethernet does not work on D945GCLF under 2.6.27-9-generic or 2.6.27-11-generic
Public bug reported: Motherboard = Intel Atom D945GCLF On board Ethernet = 01:00.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8101E/RTL8102E PCI Express Fast Ethernet controller (rev 02) Using kernel 2.6.27-7-generic the on board Ethernet works fine with no issues. Upgrading to either 2.6.27-9-generic or 2.6.27-11-generic causes eth0 not to be recognised at boot, leaving the machine with no network connection. I had trouble getting the on board Ethernet to work with 2.6.27-7-generic initially, so I run a script which replaces the driver chosen by Ubuntu on boot. This is attached as networkdriverswitch. I have tried: Removing the script from startup (In this case eth0 is recognised and the r8169 driver is loaded, this caused the interface to malfunction) Recompiling the r8101.ko driver under 2.6.27-11-generic (eth0 is not recognised at all) If there is any further information you require, please ask ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Onboard Ethernet does not work on D945GCLF under 2.6.27-9-generic or 2.6.27-11-generic https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/323558 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I will try it with a standard monitor when I get a chance. I suspect it will work too, but as I said it worked with the TV previously. I also have a problem with the r8101 chipset. I get incredibly poor intermittent connectivity. At boot the kernel loads the r8169 module and assigns it to the Ethernet port. [Bug 281350] [NEW] powernowd defaults without -n on desktop computer
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: powernowd In Hardy Heron, powernowd is installed by default and runs without the -n option. This means nice processes are ignored in the calculations. I don't think this is a suitable configuration for a desktop PC, as there is no battery life concern as with a laptop. RE: [Bug 240071] Re: BUG: soft lockup - CPU#0 stuck for 11s!
Hi, I have installed this kernel on my server and enabled the on board LAN that was causing the problem. I haven't yet attempted to use the port for connectivity but I did notice that the drops was ranking up very quickly (millions per second). This is without any cable plugged in. I then configured the port in /etc/network/interfaces and the same continued. So far I have not seen any crashing though. I will try and establish connectivity on this port in the near future and let you know the results, however with the number of drops increasing so rapidly with no connection I am not holding out too much hope.
