[Bug 1798171] Re: System fails to boot with \EFI\BOOT\mmx64.efi - Not Found

2019-01-26 Thread Nexus
The proposed workaround to create the mmx64.efi in /EFI/BOOT/ doesn't
work for me.

Does anybody know, which efi variable has been created by the installer,
that triggers the wrong boot process in the usb drive? In this case,
deleting or editing it, would be an option to try.

[Bug 582752] [NEW] nautilus-sendto does not work without evolution

2010-05-19 Thread nexus
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

1) Ubuntu 10.04
2) nautilus-sendto 2.28.4-0ubuntu1

I don't use evolution but thunderbird so I uninstalled most of the
evolution-packages. Then I recognized that nautilus-sendto does not work
any more. If I choose a file and go to context menu - send to, no popup
appears.

If I install evolution and the dependent packages nautilus-sendto works
like normal.

nautilus-sendto should not depend on evolution furthermore, but it
should work without it.

[Bug 487033] [NEW] Project files are not saved correctly

2009-11-23 Thread nexus
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: avidemux

Hi,

in version 2.5.1 project files are not saved correctly. At least for
xvid codec only default settings are saved. I also tried latest SVN
version (5539). This also effects presets as it is only possible to edit
project files manually. I didn't try this, which means importing/opening
project files has to be tested.

Ubuntu version 9.10
Avidemux version 2.5.1 up to r5539

Please don't hesitate to ask if you need more information.

[Bug 432670] Re: regression in karmic thermal control

2009-11-23 Thread nexus
I go through the same proplem like sibs since I upgraded to karmic. Same
symptoms: fan at high speed after a few minutes, critical temperature
under full load, e.g. encoding with Avidemux, shutdown. Last night I had
this problem although CPU was thottled down to 800MHz instead of maximum
2.2GHz!

Strange thing is that sometimes the log says Critical temperature
reached (127 C) and sometimes ...(105 C).

This is definitly a problem which came with karmic and no dust-in-the-
fan issue because it occured from one day to the other.

Please tell me what information you need to solve this very annoying
problem.

Kind regards,
Florian

[Bug 35112] Re: MP3 track times are incorrect

2008-10-24 Thread nexus
Even though mp3 is not officially supported I think it's very bad that this bug
is not fixed for over two (2!!) years.
I understand the reasons to not officially support mp3 but it's a
quasi-standard in the digital world.

Does anybody work on this bug any more? Or will we have it still in
Ubuntu 10.10? This is one of the bugs who dissapoint non-technophile
users very much.

[Bug 205018] Re: Hardy - Doesn't detect Firefox 3.0 for web searches and bookmarks

2008-05-28 Thread nexus
Do you mean that you can't access this format now or you will not be
able to access it in future?

Maybe you should think about releasing a version which just uses the
search engines from firefox. At least for me this would be enough. :-)

The workaround I posted above works for the search engines. Don't know
what happens if you try to search the history or bookmarks as I didn't
try that yet. But I think this workaround is a much better idea than
downgrading to firefox 2.

[Bug 223164] Re: Gnome freezes with drag / drop to 2 different windows

2008-05-11 Thread nexus
Ok, I found the way to force it:
- open a nautilus window (change from home to another directory)
- open a second nautilus window (don't change directory)
- resize the second window
- click on a file in the second window and move it - crash

I don't know if the directory changes are required. I tried it three
times now, two times I had to hard shut down (by pressing the power
button 4 secs), one time the x-server crashed and restarted
automatically (3. time, see below).

This happend (syslog):

[Bug 97585] Re: [apport] alacarte crashed with TypeError in on_item_tree_drag_data_get()

2008-05-10 Thread nexus
You can reproduce this if you drag drop two items from one menu to
another without waiting for the refresh which needs about 1 second. With
refresh I mean: view changes to the menu where the item was moved to.
For example if I move an item from menu wine to menu games the list
on the right side changes to games. If you don't wait until this
change happens but move another item from wine to games this crash
report appears. Maybe you have to try this procedure a few times to
force this problem.

[Bug 205018] Re: Hardy - Doesn't detect Firefox 3.0 for web searches and bookmarks

2008-05-09 Thread nexus
If you don't want to downgrade Firefox you can simply change the allowed
versions by editing the following file:
/usr/lib/deskbar-applet/modules-2.20-compatible/mozilla.py

Change the max ff version in line 36 to
MAX_FF_VERSION = [3, 1, 0, 0] # exclusively
for example
