That is funny. For me everything worked fine after upgrading 14.04. The dual monitor set up works briliantly after using the additional driver package for ati radeon graphic card adapters (fglrxx-updates). It stopped working and producing exactly the same behaviour after working on another issue

For me the bug fix of ~brian-murray worked for me fine! There was only a problem that my graphic card driver was not working any more after the procedure, but that was maybe only due to my misunderstanding of the procedure. Brian was describing well, but some steps need further information!

Is anybody watching this? As I said, and I can constantly confirm it: sudo restart network-manager solves the problem! But why does it hang up? System load explodes when reconnecting without restarting network manager. The time between the crashes can tremendously differ from each other.
