I've been following this bug with some interest. A lot of good ideas
here, but there are some technical issues that haven't been addressed.
Until all the common unix utilities can be upgraded to be affiliate-
aware, common pipe operations might suffer from related amazon results.

I have added the ubuntu-audio-dev PPA and updated, and it looks like
these packages do solve the issue.

I'm having huge font issues in jaunty as well. Not nearly as bad as
these guys, but everything doubled to tripled in size. This happened due
to updates sometime over the last 24 hours. Not a clean install, but
everything was fine until todays aptitude safe upgrade. As with others,

Looked at this page:

Going to System Preferences Appearance Fonts Details... and then
changing the Resolution spinner 96 put everything back to normal. I'm
