Net::SSH::Perl was removed from Debian a long time ago because of its dependency with libpari that has a non-free license. Anyway, Net::SSH::Perl is an old and unmaintaned module with lots of bugs. [Bug 1092213] [NEW] metacity freezes when swithching to another virtual desktops
Public bug reported: When I switch from one virtual desktop to another using the keyboard (i.e. ctrl-alt-left), sometimes it freezes and the X become completely irresponsive. I have to go to the console and kill metacity in order to recover it. I have the same problem. I've found the problem is on the text codification of the id3v2 tags. When you codificate them in unicode (utf) Nautilus is no more able to show mp3 image. Virtualization extensions where disabled form the BIOS. kvm runs fine after enabling them. I would really appreciate some attention to solve this important bug. I use vpn a lot and each time I use it, I end up killing kded4 to have a responsive system. I tried with kvpnc to workaround the issue but exactly the same is happening, so I'm not sure this is a bug on the widget anymore. Am I the only person suffering this? There was an update today that properly disconnects the vpn connection and avoids the hang both in plasma-widget-networkmanagement and in the kde session. I completely agree with the last comment. I had to abandon the nouveau driver in favor of nvidia just because of this usual hangs, even if nouveau was working even better than nvidia otherwise. Downloaded the branch, checked that apportevent had commit 227 in apportevent.cpp and build the package with dpkg-buildpackage, installed the resulting kubuntu-notification- helper_11.04ubuntu3_i386.deb. Exited kde, cleaned the zombies I had around and logged in kde. As it started I had 1 zombie. I closed the lid and opened again and zobies increased. I stopped k-n-h, closed the lid and opened again and zombies remained stable. Started again k-n-h and zombies grew after closing and opening the lid. I realized that line 65 in distupgradeevent.cpp is similar to the one in apportevet.cpp that you modified in commit 227, maybe that one requires modification as well. Ok, I did it right this time. I confirmed that the compilation was right and that the version installed was the new one (tagged 11.04ubuntu3). The results are the same, closing the lid and opening it again creates kded4 zombies. This happens only if k-n-h is running.
