[Bug 309943] Re: 8.10 Intrepid: Tablet is not recognized by system when plugged into usb port
No, the device does not register with dmesg or lsusb. I realise, and realised before I posted, that theis bug may not be specific to or related to the xorg package. BUT when you file a bug here at Launchpad, you MUST enter a package name for the bug. So I am experiencing difficulties in Ubuntu recognising one of my usb devices and when it is plugged in, NOTHING HAPPENS. So I have NO CLUE what the heck package is failing! So if there is any way that you could direct me to where people could help on this issue and the bug would be filed correctly, I would appreciate it. -- 8.10 Intrepid: Tablet is not recognized by system when plugged into usb port https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/309943 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 309943] [NEW] 8.10 Intrepid: Tablet is not recognized by system when plugged into usb port
Public bug reported: I have an Acecad usb tablet, model Acecad Flair II GT-504. The tablet is not being recognised by my DESKTOP pc in 8.04 or 8.10. So I plug the usb tablet in and nothing happens, the red power light does not illuminate when plugged in. Furthermore, the following command gives the following output. As you can see, there is no tablet device on the list, and neither of the recognised mice are the tablet either. The strange thing is that this tablet is recognised just fine on my laptop under 8.04, but NOT my DESKTOP. I don't have any other Linux machines to test this on. But I even tried installing a pci usb card in this machine and plugging into that thinking that there may be some conflict with the usb controller on my mobo. But even with a pci usb card, the symptoms are exactly the same, not recognised at all. How should I post my complete hardware setup for diagnosis? $ grep -i name /proc/bus/input/devices N: Name="Macintosh mouse button emulation" N: Name="AT Translated Set 2 keyboard" N: Name="USB Optical Mouse" N: Name="PC Speaker" N: Name="Power Button (FF)" N: Name="Power Button (CM)" N: Name="ImExPS/2 Logitech Explorer Mouse" Thanks ** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- 8.10 Intrepid: Tablet is not recognized by system when plugged into usb port https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/309943 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 296426] [NEW] Acecad Acecat Flair USB Tablet fails to work in 8.04
Public bug reported: 8.04 is the first version of Linux I have installed on this machine. This http://tiny.cc/2fn9H tablet has never worked in Ubuntu on THIS machine. My laptop runs 8.04 and works fine with the tablet. But this desktop does not allow Ubuntu 8.04 or 8.10 to recognize the tablet at all. The desktop is simply onboard everything in a Gigabyte GA-73VM-S2 motherboard, including Nvidia Geforce 7050 chipset. I have run live cd's of 8.10 Ibex and 7.10 Gutsy, and Gutsy allowed the tablet to power on and work correctly. I have been having trouble with software upgrades lately, always getting an error that my kernel cannot be updated: as in picture. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Acecad Acecat Flair USB Tablet fails to work in 8.04 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/296426 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
