Well, I just simply did a: dpkg -i --force-overwrite /var/cache/apt/archives/lxpanel_0.7.2-1ubuntu1_amd64.deb It works. It's wrong, but it works. At least my lxde-desktop is now working again. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1417244 Title: package lxpanel-data (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: trying to overwrite '/usr/share/lxpanel/xkeyboardconfig/models.cfg', which is also in package lxpanel 0.7.2-1ubuntu1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxpanel/+bug/1417244/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 395239] Re: [karmic] 2.6.31 kernel does not load custom DSDT
Well, according to http://www.opensubscriber.com/message/linux- ker...@vger.kernel.org/8811841.html Linus Torvalds took out the part of the code that made us able to add custom DSDT-tables to our initramfs. ACPI: Remove ACPI_CUSTOM_DSDT_INITRD option ...ACPI code should either run much later, or this shouldn't be done at all. For 2.6.25, we'll just pick the latter option. We can revisit this concept later if necessary. So it's some ubuntu-guys sitting behind this all creating special patches for the kernels so they do what Linus doesn't want them to do? Anyways, I'm hoping for a working DSDT-in-initramfs-patchable kernel soon. The fan on my laptop always stays on otherwise. It's annoying. Please do this soon. It shouldn't be more than a minor patch after all..? -- [karmic] 2.6.31 kernel does not load custom DSDT https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/395239 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
