[Bug 1892369] Re: Impossible to skip integrity test for ubuntu-server 20.04.1 iso
Sorry, but that's not true. The integrity check, when booting from a virtual CD-ROM, as it is common with servers equipped with remote consoles on hardware management boards (iLO, iDRAC, CIMC tec.) still takes ages. The integrity check is faster instead, when the operating system is installed in a VM and the ISO is mounted directly as a CD into the VM. But the workaround Camille mentioned works. I've used this on a Cisco CIMC. So don't forget to hit "e" on the install screen. This definitely saves time. In the German UbuntuUsers forum there are several threads concerning this bug, for instance: https://forum.ubuntuusers.de/topic/freigaben-im-netzwerk-sind-nicht- erreichbar/ For some users it happens regularly (like myself), for others it happens sometimes and with several kinds of files only, and still others say that it does not happen at all. This is very strange! [Bug 1872476] Re: Shared files are shown as folders
Thanks, Sergio! After adding your ppa in a newly installed virtual machine with Xubuntu 20.02, all shares of my NAS and my FritzBox were accessible and browsable via SMB-1 (client max protocol = NT1). I tried with Thunar and Nautilus (both gtk and therefore using gvfs); all files are displayed correctly and accessible without any problems. [Bug 1876308] Re: in GIO 2.64.2 (Ubuntu 20.04) smb file attributes corrupted
It seems to be the same problem as bug 1872476, but there it seems to affect samba. I found that samba 4.11.7 alone works fine and that the bug only occurs if the samba shares are mounted with gio mount. Therefore I suppose it is a gio bug. Hi Sergio Durigan jr., could you please tell us what has been changed in the samba 4.11.7 package in your PPA. It would be fine if I could know that before installing your samba version in my system. [Bug 1876308] [NEW] in GIO 2.64.2 (Ubuntu 20.04) smb file attributes corrupted
Public bug reported: If the samba protocol is reduced to SMB-1 (option client max protocol = NT1 in smb.conf), in all samba shares mounted with gio mount, the mounting used by file managers like Nautilus or Thunar, ordinary files are displayed as empty folders and therefore not usable. The problem seems to be new in Ubuntu 20.04 (samba 4.11 and GIO 2.64.2) because it did not exist in Ubuntu 18.04 LTS (samba 4.7 and GIO 2.56.4). [Bug 1812247] Re: ssh-askpass(-gnome) fails for ssh-add -c: agent refused operation
My suspicion is that we never get as far as askpass – gnome-keyring- daemon spawns a ssh-agent to pass requests on to (in my case, that's easy to spot because I use PKCS#11 tokens and that's the one spawning ssh-pkcs11-helpers), and that one doesn't have DISPLAY in its environment, so it won't even try to obtain permission that way. I'll see if I have enough foo to either force the ssh agents into debug mode (readpass.c's read_passphrase() only logs at debug level) or frobnicate their environment to have a DISPLAY, see if that fixes things. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1812247 Title: ssh-askpass(-gnome) fails for ssh-add -c: agent refused operation To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-keyring/+bug/1812247/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1758023] Re: Mouse acceleration not configurable in Xubuntu 18.04
Thank you Sean for your explanation and for looking after Xubuntu 18.04 bugs here on Launchpad. So you can't reproduce the mouse acceleration problem. This makes the bug much harder to track down, if it only effects some people – or maybe if it affects many people but some not. :-( We have here in this report at least three people who're being affected. Not to mention user "Cruxic" who opened the same bug report for Xubuntu 17.10 already in the end of last year and to which I link to in my #1 post above. I can reproduce the mouse acceleration bug on two very different x86 machines of mine, with totally different mice, and whenever I encounter the same bug on these different machines, in most cases it's a real bug and no configuration problem. So how could we help to further pin down this nasty bug? Furthermore, shall I open new bug reports for a few more bugs, i.e. is the "Xubuntu" tag sufficient for you developers to find our bug reports? (I would like to report another bug then: Xfce4's icon-bar exporter doesn't work anymore, the save dialogue doesn't save anything.) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1758023 Title: Mouse acceleration not configurable in Xubuntu 18.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xfce4-settings/+bug/1758023/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

How do we make this bug aware to the Xubuntu team? Did I use the wrong tags in the bug report? Because the bug is a real showstopper and apparently already exists since Xubuntu 17.10… ie since October 2017. But hardly anybody notices it? How many Xubuntu users are still out there? If its not fixed, all Xubuntu 18.04 LTS users will have to live with non-configurable mouse speeds for 3+ years. That would be very bad. And how do we make the Xubuntu team aware of other bugs? Public bug reported: 1) Ubuntu Bionic Beaver (development branch), Release: 18.04 Fresh installation from Xubuntu 18.04 beta1 ISO, and "apt updated" daily. 2) package: xfce4-settings 4.12.3-0ubuntu1 3) What to expected to happen? Running the application "xfce4-mouse-settings" from the above package, changing the sliders "acceleration" and "sensitivity" should change the mouse speed. 4) What happened instead? The sliders have no effect, i.e. you change the mouse acceleration and sensitivity sliders but both don't haven't any effect on the mouse. Tested on several different machines with different mice. With Xubuntu 16.04 the xfce4-mouse-settings still work fine on the same machines. While "xfce4-mouse-settings" doesn't work in Xubuntu 18.04 on these machines, chaneing the mouse speed with GNOME's "gnome-control-center" works fine on the same installation. Maybe the bug is related to the new libinput system introduced in Ubuntu 18.04? The terminal command: mouse [accel] [threshold] [mouse default] doesn't change the mouse speed in Xubuntu 18.04. However the terminal command:; xinput does work in Xubuntu 18.04, but it only knows one parameter instead of the two used by "xfce4-mouse-settings". For example the following works for me: xinput set-prop "PixArt USB Optical Mouse" "libinput Accel Speed" -0.6 ** Affects: xfce4-settings (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: 18.04 bugs team xubuntu -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1758023 Title: Mouse acceleration not configurable in Xubuntu 18.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xfce4-settings/+bug/1758023/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1441460] Re: [xubuntu] Failing to sleep after inactivity - power manager error?
I confirm this issue. I am running xubuntu 17.10. i.e. xfce with lightdm on my thinkpad x230. None of the mentioned work-arounds works for me as I don't want to give up locking the screen with a password. The policy suggestions seem to have no affect (in addition to allowing me to select suspend in xfce). I can suspend manually and also suspend when closing the lid. But leaving my laptop sitting without power with a locked screen will not suspend and drain the battery. So, the agreed work-around is NOT to use lightdm if you want power management and a password secured login? Would upgrading to bionic beaver (18.04) make any difference? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1441460 Title: [xubuntu] Failing to sleep after inactivity - power manager error? [Bug 1700609] Re: Kernel Oops. GoodIX touchscreen not working
I can confirm this behaviour for a Chuwi H13 Tablet with Kubuntu (Ubuntu 17.10). There are a couple of reports in the Chuwi forum, concerning tablets recently delivered. The touchscreen does not work after install, dmesg and xinput will not show the device. Seems to be caused by a hardware change. I figuered that the touchscreen was expecting to be bind to "GDIX1002" instead of "GDIX1001". I replaced the string in the gt9xx driver code, compiled and that was it. Hope this helps. [Bug 1651433] [NEW] bluetooth mouse random disconnects
Public bug reported: I received the Dell XPS 13 DE (9350) accompanied by the WD15 docking station last September. Ever since I used it with my Logitech MX Master bluetooth mouse. This worked very well and reliably for September through November. But Since about start of December, it disconnects frequently and without any apparent reason. I can get it back to order by disabling and re-enabling the bluetooth radio of the notebook. After I re-enable the bt radio and move the mouse it work immediately without any delay. Sometimes it disconnects after 10 seconds. Sometimes I can work for 10 hours without any disconnect. For the entire lifetime the device has been running xenial. Currently I'm on kernel Linux XPS13ulr 4.4.0-53-generic #74-Ubuntu SMP Because the issue started happening at a certain date, I strongly believe that it was caused by and upgrade, possibly kernel. I wanted to see if the same disconnects also happen with other BT devices. But for as long as I had the Jabra Halo 2 headset connected, also the mouse worked reliably. The mouse is my only BT LE device. Maybe that makes a difference. ** Affects: bluez (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: bluetooth logitech mouse -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1651433 Title: bluetooth mouse random disconnects To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bluez/+bug/1651433/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1577885] Re: 120sec delay during shutdown or reboot with still mounted cifs (via Wifi)
In https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/talk:NFS#NetworkManager-wait- online I found a workaround that works for me (ArchLinux has been using systemd for a long time already): * create a file /lib/systemd/system/auto_share.service with the following contents: After=NetworkManager-wait-online.service Before=systemd-user-sessions.service * execute the following commands in a terminal: systemctl enable NetworkManager-wait-online systemctl reenable auto_share.service Having done this once, booting and shutdown works fine, even with still mounted cifs shares.
