[Bug 1308105] Re: Xfce resets TV mode to NULL when power cycled
Just a minor point: Glen pointed out in comment #86 that the curl command to get the patch files doesn't work. I've done some playing around. For some reason 'curl https://bugzilla.xfce.org/attachment.cgi?id=5681' doesn't work - but 'curl -L http://bugzilla.xfce.org/attachment.cgi?id=5681', which follows the 302 redirect from 'http://bugzilla.xfce.org/...' to 'https://bugzilla.xfce.org/...', does work. [Bug 1400960] Re: Problems with a snappy tour
I suspect the problem is SIGWINCH. I can reproduce this problem if I resize or maximize the terminal window while snappy installs docker. However once things fail they seem to continue to fail no matter what. ssh -p 8022 ubuntu@localhost ubuntu@localhost's password: Welcome to Ubuntu Vivid Vervet (development branch) (GNU/Linux 3.16.0-25-generic x86_64) * Documentation: https://help.ubuntu.com/ Welcome to the Ubuntu Core rolling development release. * See https://ubuntu.com/snappy It's a brave new world here in snappy Ubuntu Core! [Bug 1400960] [NEW] Problems with a snappy tour
Public bug reported: [This was also sent to snappy-de...@lists.ubuntu.com.] Hi, I followed the steps in the Launch Snappy locally with KVM on Linux section on http://www.ubuntu.com/cloud/tools/snappy. Then I ran the steps in the A snappy tour of Ubuntu Core! section on http://www.ubuntu.com/cloud/tools/snappy. Sorry, I don't see a way to link directly to these sections. I ran into a few problems. Please see below. kvm is running just fine, no errors. This is on a 64-bit version of 14.10. I am running with LUKS encrypted root partition and an ecryptfs encrypted home directory, if that's relevant. [Bug 1268365] Re: [Lenovo Thinkpad t440s] Touchpad periodically stops working
Thanks for the last two comments - I got in touch with Jeroen who posted the spinics forum post, and he said that the best way to confirm the problem was to either boot into Windows 8 safe mode or boot Windows 7 from USB and see what happened there. Under Windows 8 safe mode there was no perceptible problem but as soon as I booted Windows 7 it was clear that there was an issue, and the cursor set off uncontrollably after a few seconds use. I called Lenovo and yesterday they fitted a new keyboard bezel (which contains a new trackpad) and over a few hours use yesterday I have had no further lost sync messages. This was definitely a hardware issue and I'd like to thank everyone for their help in sorting it out. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1268365 Title: [Lenovo Thinkpad t440s] Touchpad periodically stops working To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1268365/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1268365] [NEW] Thinkpad t440s touchpad / trackpoint periodically stop working
Public bug reported: Every 15 minutes or so, the cursor stops reacting to input from the touchpad or trackpoint. [Bug 896922] Re: Lenovo L520 - psmouse.c: touchpad at isa0060/serio4/input0 lost sync and stops working for seconds
Christopher, I have raised https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1268365 However this bug (896922) was originally created by Matthias after he was told do do so in similar circumstances on https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/773433, a bug which is now marked as Expired. I respect that you want to distinguish specific individual circumstances but this is a severe problem (I have had to restart psmouse twice while writing this) and creating separate unlinked bugs dilutes the impact, and presumably reduces the chances of it being looked at. From a quick google I found also these which look like exactly the same issue: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1165089 (raised 5/4/2013, also marked as Expired) and https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-synaptics/+bug/1198274 (raised 5/7/2013, which you have put a similar comment on) https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-synaptics/+bug/1261133 (raised 15/12/2013, which you have put a similar comment on) Could we perhaps nominate one of these to be the the master issue and mark it with an appropriate severity, and mark the others all as duplicates? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/896922 Title: Lenovo L520 - psmouse.c: touchpad at isa0060/serio4/input0 lost sync and stops working for seconds To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/896922/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 962376 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/962376 I don't know. The problem seems to be with virt-viewer. The workaround is to edit the virtual machine's XML definition in /etc/libvrit/qemu. According to `dpkg -S` that's owned by libvirt-bin. Perhaps we could add a Common Problems and Workarounds section to this wiki: http://virt-manager.org/page/Main_Page. A google search for qemu kvm spice blank screen doesn't turn up anything we could edit, including the virt-manager wiki. Which means anything we do may not be seen by anyone. I often have difficulty shutting down or rebooting my system, as it often hangs early in the process; bind9 seems to be among the first services to be shut down, so I suspect it is the root of that problem as well. I notice that Matthias pointed out that he is using IPv6 and dnssec. I am using an IPv6 tunnel and have configured bind9 for dnssec validation; I had purged and reinstalled bind9 in trying to troubleshoot this problem, and it didn't hang on restarts before I re-enabled dnssec validation. That was only a few restarts; with an intermittent problem, it's hard to be sure. I will try disabling dnssec validation for a few days and see if that helps. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to bind9 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/807153 Title: named does not shut down after service bind9 stop To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bind9/+bug/807153/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

Public bug reported: Ubuntu 11.10 basex 6.7-1 When I installed the basex package, I expected basexgui to be added to the GNOME menu system, and that in the Unity Dash, typing basexgui would bring up the graphical user interface to basex, but this was not the case; it had to be launched from the command line. [Bug 730023] Re: Mountall doesn't swapon with 'ignore'-d swap in fstab
@Steve, under bug #839118, you pointed out it was odd that I had a system with a mountpoint of none. Perhaps another bug I filed recently may be related to this bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/udisks/+bug/865026 As best I can recall, when I started using Ubuntu, with version 8.04, it was on a dual-boot system with Windows; the NTFS partitions were listed in /etc/fstab with a mount point of none. My current computer is a different computer, but the file systems have a generally similar configuration: it's a dual boot system, with Windows partitions and Linux partitions on separate drives. I installed Ubuntu 11.04 on a second hard drive, and it listed the NTFS partitions with mount points of none. I later created an NTFS partition with a specified mount point, in order to share files between Linux and Windows. Two other partitions I specified mount points recently, as a workaround for the problem in Bug #865026. I tried commenting out the lines for the partitions that had originally been assigned mount points of none, including two which I had assigned mount points, /mnt/SYSTEM_RESERVED and /mnt/Gateway, and found that the latter two again appeared in the sidebar in Nautilus, allowing unprivileged users to mount them. I also found that moving the swap partition line higher in /etc/fstab worked, unless it was listed before the partition with the mount point of none, as in the attached fstab. In that case, the swap partition is not mounted. ** Attachment added: fstab https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mountall/+bug/730023/+attachment/2535793/+files/fstab -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/730023 Title: Mountall doesn't swapon with 'ignore'-d swap in fstab To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mountall/+bug/730023/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 870297] Re: Lightdm logins not being logged in wmtp
Here's a copy and paste of what I posted on ubuntuforums.org: Users logged in via GUI not listed by 'who', 'w', or 'last'. It looks like some update on September 30 or October 1 inhibits correct tracking of GUI logins. At a guess, I think lightDM is not updating /var/log/wtmp. I'm not sure, though, and I'd appreciate suggestions on how to narrow it down so I can make a proper bug report. I often log in to my desktop via ssh, then execute 'w' or 'who' to see if anyone is logged in, before I do any work on my system. I executed 'w', found that there was only one user logged in, which was me, then I started x11vnc and connected to my desktop, only to see that my stepson was logged in and playing Minecraft. I tried 'who', and it indicated only my login; 'last' didn't show my son's login today. 'last' did show his login via GUI from yesterday, before I applied a batch of updates, so that's why I think this was just broken: Code: kidongui tty7 :0 Thu Sep 1 16:50 - 21:37 (04:46) I did see that his processes were correctly listed by 'ps' and 'top'. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/870297 Title: Lightdm logins not being logged in wmtp To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lightdm/+bug/870297/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 853580] Re: Unable to start second virtual machine
From a quick look at the logs, it looks like the domains I usually started second kept trying to bind to vnc on port 5900, which presumably was already claimed by the first domain. I only set the port during initial installation, so I'm not sure why it doesn't just try port 5901. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/853580 Title: Unable to start second virtual machine To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libvirt/+bug/853580/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 853580] Re: Unable to start second virtual machine
That was it. Each domain xml file had this line: graphics type 'vnc' port='5900' autoport='no'/ using edit [domain name] in virsh, I changed the line in each to: graphics type='vnc' autoport='yes'/ With that, they both started without complaint. The remaining question is why the domains were configured that way to begin with. I'm not sure if it's a result of my having specified the port for vnc to use during installation, which I assumed was for installation only, or those are set as default in some other way.

[Bug 773389] Re: during update to 11.04 from 10.10 invalid package information
