The tty-problem was solved as described here -

Edit /etc/initramfs-tools/modules and add the lines (modules)
fbcon
vesafb
Uncomment vesafb in /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-framebuffer, so the line should
look like

Since things have not evolved I checked my log dir and found maybe other
useful stuff.
I don't have any terminals right now, which is not very satisfying.

I hope the files contain information about the dist-upgrade because I ran
several aptitude dist-upgrades after the major upgrades.
