if you install windows (even on a 10GB~ partition) you can the run the bios
update from that then take windows off.
You don't need to buy windows for this.

The shabby solution that I use is doing:
sudo ifconfig eth1 up
sudo dhclient eth1
while I'm connected by LAN.
Then, sometimes, wifi come to my laptop. For me that is magic because
unfortunately I don't know very much about
why? there are others with and who will get vostro 1320s should this not
stay as a bug?
