I too have the same problem from Elementary OS (Luna). With version
v0.91.1 attempt to edit pictures shows me the following error message.
WARNING: Net::DBus::GLib is missing -- Ubuntu One support will be
disabled!
WARNING: Image::ExifTool is missing -- writing Exif information will be
disabled!
This issue affected to me too,Ubuntu 14.04/13.04/12.10
I tried reinstall,purge config files and even build from source
no effect.

Hello, shutter also crashes on my end when trying to edit images. It
doesn't matter if they're images created with shutter or not. I've tried
re-installing, purging config files, updating to the latest version from
the ppa, but nothing helped. I think this might share some light on the
matter,
I'm also having Shutter segfault when I either click the edit image
icon, or use ctrl+e to edit an image.
It happens with saved images and also screenshots taken with Shutter
itself.
